The rooms are stylish and modern, clean and comfortable. The interior is equipped with Internet TV and all kinds of facilities are complete and thoughtful. The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance to the major popular attractions and restaurants in Hakodate, and it is also close to the popular morning market. Seafood rice bowls and authentic ramen can be easily tasted. A few minutes walk is the lively gate Hengding, and you can go to the surrounding izakayas at night. The hotel is also very close to the sea, and it is very pleasant to take a walk in the morning and evening to blow the sea breeze. The accommodation is actually very good, the location is very convenient, there are many good restaurants nearby, the parking location is spacious, there are subway stations and AEON Mall not far away, the accommodation space is also spacious, the interior design is very beautiful, the layout is also obviously thoughtful, from the street to enter the accommodation, a total of three passwords are required, Security is also very tight. The only downside is that the accommodation never responds to emails or to mailboxes set up on the booking platform. From the beginning of the reservation, the accommodation has only sent a link through the reservation platform to inform the check-in details and require pre-registration. It is really a deduction for all the emails and email messages of the guests. Booking a homestay is different from a hotel. Be sure to know the check-in method and the real location of the accommodation in advance to feel at ease. The operator never replied to the message, and once made me very reluctant, and even planned to cancel the reservation. I hope the operator can pay more attention.

A rare find at this ocean-view hot spring hotel! Soaking in the hot spring while gazing at the sea, daydreaming, or chatting is simply wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we had a dedicated butler who escorted us to the large lounge for check-in. While their English wasn't fluent, they could communicate in Japanese and Chinese using a translation app, and were very responsible in repeatedly confirming our reservation times. The private hot spring bath we booked was excellent in both its environment and facilities, and both the indoor and outdoor public baths offered ocean views. Cleanliness was impeccable, and the ocean-view room was enormous; we even had albatrosses visiting outside the window. The kaiseki cuisine at breakfast and dinner was absolutely amazing—delicious and beautifully presented—I was extremely satisfied!

The hotel has a not to be missed ocean view, but the food variety turns out to be the disappointment. Not so much of choice when comparing it with other ryukan. Another places for your attention is that the toilet and the room has a very strong and unpleasant urine smell. Though I cannot find any uncleaned spots in the toilet, the odor is simply untolerable. The onsen at the balcony has human hair from probably the previous customer and the hotel should do better in cleaning it. Food: 7/10 Service: 8.5/10 Hygiene: 5/10 View: 10/10

The room was quite spacious. There were coffee beans in the drawer, so we could enjoy coffee and admire the snowy view from our room during the heavy snow. The front desk staff on the first floor were very polite and answered all our questions. Given the cold weather, the free-flow coffee, made with famous Hokkaido coffee beans, was a nice touch. Dinner was at the second-floor restaurant, featuring simple appetizers, a beef hot pot, and all-you-can-eat sushi. I'm not sure if it was because of New Year's Eve, but the service was incredibly slow; several Japanese groups who arrived after us had already finished their meals, and we had only been served three dishes. On the ninth floor, there are three private baths, which were very comfortable for my family to relax and chat in. There's ice cream available for self-service on the tenth floor. After 9:30 PM, the hotel offers warm and comforting ramen, which was a thoughtful touch. There's a convenience store right across from the hotel, and the Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses are about a five-minute walk straight ahead. Next door, there's a yakiniku restaurant. I initially thought we wouldn't find any hot food open on New Year's Day, but surprisingly, it was open and there was no queue. For that alone, I'd give it a big thumbs up!

Check-in was smooth. The room was spacious enough for the whole family, no problem at all. Downstairs, it's connected to Daikoku Drugstore and Matsuoka Shoten, making souvenir shopping very convenient. The hotel also has a nice commemorative stamp. We checked in during their 10th-anniversary celebration, and the kids got raffle stickers for answering some questions. There are many dinner options near the hotel, but expect some queues. The hotel's breakfast was absolutely delicious 😋 – I highly recommend booking a room with breakfast included. The location is also fantastic; it's right across the bus station after you exit the train station. It's super convenient for getting to all the attractions in Hakodate, and also very easy to get to Hakodate Airport.

I absolutely loved this Lavista hotel! The breakfast was fantastic, with a great spread including salmon, sweet shrimp, ice cream, and pudding. There's a direct bus to Hakodate Airport right nearby, costing 700 yen, and it's conveniently located next to Meijikan. There are also plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. The Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses are just a 2-minute walk away, which is super handy for buying snacks and souvenirs. The onsen (public bath) was excellent, with good quality body lotion and hair conditioner provided. There were several outdoor baths, which were very relaxing. Plus, after a soak, you get free ice cream! It's about a 15-minute walk to both the Hakodateyama Ropeway and Hakodate JR Station. The views of Mount Hakodate are also beautiful. Highly recommend!

The hotel is just next to the station. We arrived by train on a windy and rainy day and were thankful that it’s just a short walk to the hotel. The room is spacious and the onsen is nice. The carpet is stained but we understand it’s common for hotel after some years. The hotel staff were helpful when we enquire about directions and asked to borrow umbrellas too. Though it rained on both days that we were in Hakodate, we still enjoyed ourselves using the city tram, which station is about 3mins walk across the Jr station. The market is also just less about 3mins walk away. Overall, we enjoyed our stay with the hotel and will stay here again if ever return and will recommend to friends.

The hotels in the Yunokawa Onsen area are generally quite average, and Umi to Akari, which is a Four Points by Marriott, is no exception. However, its price is double what you'd expect. Perhaps I booked too last minute. To be honest, for this price, I'd choose other, higher-end options, and even taking a taxi there to enjoy the hot springs would be more cost-effective. This hotel does offer day-use hot spring access. Here's my experience from a few perspectives: 1. **Hygiene:** You generally don't need to worry about hygiene in Japanese hotels, and this place is no different. 2. **Dining:** I opted for the one-night, two-meal plan, and after checking in, I realized it was the worst decision. The food quality was truly average. Although there was a lot of seafood and unlimited crab legs, it was just… mediocre. I ate one meal and never went back. I'd rather walk across the street to ”Ichimonji” for Hokkaido ramen 🍜. Coincidentally, it was a Japanese holiday, and the breakfast queue was unbelievably long 🤪. 3. **Clientele:** This hotel primarily caters to tour groups. Buses kept pulling up, dropping off loads of tourists, if you catch my drift. 4. **Accommodation:** The bed and pillows were really uncomfortable. I'll spare you the details... 5. **Hot Springs:** Clean, and the quality of the hot spring water was good. It was slightly salty, and my skin felt silky smooth after bathing. There weren't many Chinese guests, and everyone was very particular about hot spring etiquette, maintaining personal space. This was a definite plus (especially with so many tour groups staying there).

The hotel is close to the sea but a bit far from the JR station. The room was clean, and the triple room had enough space for three suitcases. The bedding was comfortable too. For breakfast, you can choose between a set meal or a buffet, but there's a long wait for the buffet. We opted for the set meal both days, and it was quite good. The onsen offers nice views of Hakodate, which is a plus.

Very spacious. Can leave my luggage open on floor completely. Got a window but CANNOT open. Upon entering room, there is a special cupboard to put down staff. Shown in photo, where my luggage is. Oven is stated at certain floor, vending machine and laundry all at different floor. Lobby has a lot thing to pass time, since it's raining and snow at the same time. But I can't read Japanese comic.
