During my stay, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Overall, a good experience. I booked this hotel last minute and, despite not sending any specific requests, I got a room with a fantastic view on the top floor. However, the front desk service was terrible. Check-in was an unpleasant experience, and their attitude was very poor – I wouldn't rule out the possibility of discrimination. The hotel's dinner was mediocre; the schnitzel and goulash soup were just okay, but the burger was quite good. I didn't have breakfast. There's also a Starbucks downstairs, which is convenient. A word of warning: avoid the restaurants in the square downstairs. They're unhygienic, and they overcharged me £33 for a single meal, probably because I'm Chinese. I was new to Budapest and hadn't quite grasped the exchange rates, so I definitely felt scammed. Very frustrating!

The valet always leaves my car immaculately clean before handing it over to me, and even provides bottled water based on the number of people in the car before departure. Such thoughtful details. Great central location, super convenient, right next to the famous New York Cafe. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, like a concert hall, very grand and ceremonial. The lobby is quite lovely too. My only minor complaint was at checkout; when I spoke to one of the receptionists, a Caucasian woman, she didn't even bother to look up. It was the other female receptionist next to her who actually helped me.

One thing really upset me! The blinds in my room were broken. I reported it that same day, and the Macedonian guy told me the maintenance worker wouldn't be in until Monday. So, on Monday, I told the front desk again. The Hungarian guy there promised it would be fixed that day, but it never was. Later, when I spoke to the Macedonian guy about it, he immediately snapped back, saying he had told maintenance that they finished work at 4 PM. I thought to myself, 'Does he really need to be that angry?' Maybe his colleague didn't inform him, but it's certainly not my fault. Afterward, when I asked to change rooms, the Macedonian guy had a very impatient attitude! I think that Macedonian guy's customer service skills need some training! And one of the elevators is always out of order…

This is a chain hotel, found all over the world, and the Budapest location is quite large compared to others in Europe. The hotel's location depends on personal preference. It's situated on a bustling commercial pedestrian street with many shops and restaurants, vibrant from 10 AM until midnight. Most attractions (except for the thermal baths) are about a 10-minute walk away. The breakfast was decent and offered a good variety. The downside of this hotel is that it's a bit far from public transportation and it's quite noisy. You enter directly into a bar, and the front desk, which consists of three simple tables, is past that. Around 11:40 PM, someone started banging loudly on my door, waking me up. I asked who it was and why they were knocking, but they didn't answer, just kept banging. It was probably a drunk person. I called the front desk, and it took a while for someone to pick up. When they finally did, I explained that someone was knocking on my door and I didn't know who it was, asking them to come check. The staff member said they didn't know who it was either and then dismissed my concern. Luckily, the person eventually left. This kind of service attitude is unacceptable, especially given the potential safety issue. I definitely won't be staying at this hotel again on my next trip to Budapest.

The hotel is a wonderful experience to stay in particular if you appreciate historical flair. Definitively the spa and swimming pool is a great place to visit. It was included in our room category, but for other room rates may not include it and you need to pay for the spa and swimming pool. The personal was very kind and helpful! Breakfast was wonderful as well, however, the served coffee at the breakfast was terrible. It was not only on one day but seems to be a general feature. I wonder why this five star location does not invest in a high level coffee facility. But at least the room had a small pad coffee machine which allowed to have a good coffee! The general experience in this hotel was exceptional!
