I’ve booked Low Wood Bay a few times but this was the first time using trip.com - we got an excellent deal and the customer service was brilliant from both trip.com and Low Wood Bay. There had been heavy snowfall so things were a bit up in the air with whether we would be coming or not due to road closures but the staff were brilliant. Thankfully we did get to come for the night and we’d booked the spa the following day. It is one of the best spas I have been to. The views are stunning. The hotel itself is really lovely, fantastic location, extremely clean and all the staff were super friendly. Will definitely be coming to stay again and can’t recommend enough for a relaxing break.

Grest place to relax and enjoy the location, the spa is excellent and so relaxing.
The food we had was beautiful and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Room had everything we needed and very comfortable.
The only complaint I have is that you are charged £12 to park your car per night, that’s okay if you are just using the spa but I don’t agree with it when you are staying at the hotel and spending money there, I found this very disappointing.

Overall, it's pretty good. The decor has a bit of an American style, giving it a warm and cozy feel. The view from the window is lovely, offering a direct look at the lake. The hotel restaurant is right downstairs, and we saw many foreigners sitting there enjoying drinks. The town itself is small; you can explore most of it within a 15-minute walk, which is very convenient. There's no mini-fridge in the room, but you can ask the front desk for ice, and they'll provide a large bucket.

Absolutely amazing stay , as soon as we arrived everything was great and customer service was brilliant . They even upgraded us to a room with a hot tub for my husbands birthday. Spa was lovely and even on the checkout day can use it to 1pm which was a nice bonus. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent and so good only had to walk 30 seconds from our room. Will definitely be back to visit again!

The Macdonald Old England Hotel is well situated, being just a stones throw from the lakeside and the shops in Bowness.
The staff are friendly and obliging and the service matches their attitude.
The breakfasts are fine, although the staff can sometimes be a bit slow in replenishing the tureens.
We did not use the Spa, so we cannot comment on that.
Overall, we found the hotel to have all the facilities that we were lookling for and we would be happy to stay there again.

A little old, but the room is big. Breakfast is right by the lake. You can walk to the lake and feed the animals. It's very comfortable.

1. Location, the hotel is just by the lake, but it is a 30-minute drive from Windermere, and it is far from the Lake District. 2. Some rooms can accommodate an extra bed, 15 pounds a day, including breakfast. 3, the hotel is large and has a lot of parking spaces. 4. The meal is great, classic English. 5, the hotel toiletries are good, is the British Royal Development Supplies MB, the bathroom's heating rack is open in the summer, the towel will be done overnight. Great

The location is fantastic. I saw the hotel sign right on Bo'ness Pier. There's a large lawn in front of the hotel, facing the pier. The sun was shining brightly the day we arrived, and watching the sunset from the hotel lawn was absolutely stunning. We didn't go out for dinner, but instead ate in the hotel restaurant. The view was fantastic, and the prices were great. I especially had my favorite dish of the trip: the lobster salad, which was similar to our favorite crayfish pasta. It was 12 pounds and a fantastic value. The hotel service was also excellent. They offered directions and even showed me how to use the old elevator. Really thoughtful touches.

Excellent service from front office hotel staff, specially by Matt. Matt had made us feel warm and welcome. He went all the way to fulfil our needs. Would like to definitely come back again. Kudos to Matt for all the good work and support.

The location of the hotel is average. Have their own garden, the room is quite large, dinner should be booked in advance, asking for a window. Service is too good, 15 minutes walk from Lake Grasmere.

Although it is not the most beautiful season, it has a unique style, the air is fresh and the environment is beautiful, and the fog in the morning is even more fairy, which is very suitable for relaxing vacation. Although we passed by for a small stay for one night, we have added a lot to our journey.

The room is average, the house is beautiful, and the surrounding gardens are also beautiful. Although it is a little far from the lake area, once you walk there you can occupy the lake area and use it as the front garden of two particularly luxurious villas, which is truly beautiful.

The hotel was hospitable with very friendly staff however location wise it was quite far from the places I wantes to visit however it was close by to the town centre with many halal restaurant suchs as lake raj. Overall it was a pleasant stay!!!

A relatively quiet and quiet place, when it is late, the lake view is normal. The hotel's facilities are relatively old, the lake area 10.1 is very cold, and there are many Chinese.

A beautiful little hotel, I think there are only 6 rooms though. All staff were on hand for any queries and help in any way they can. During my stay it was lovely and sunny and they have an outdoor area idea for a while in the sun 😂.
If you have any sort of disability and find it difficult to climb stairs this place is probably not for you, no lift in the hotel and all rooms are upstairs, the car park is at the back of the hotel with steps up to the hotel that has a hand rail but the few steps into the hotel doesn’t. I was in room 6, 3 lots of stairs to negotiate but the view was spectacular.From€105

The overall feeling is quite satisfactory. I like the public kitchen here the most. It is the most complete and best kitchen I have ever lived in. There are microwave ovens, induction cookers, ovens, vegetable boards, kitchen knives, various pots, various plates, various bowls, and kitchen utensils. Many people cook here, it is too convenient. Just rushing to this point, it's great. Of course, I live in an old house. There are 8 beds in a large room, no covering, and all transparent. There is a usb plug at the head of the bed, no big plug, but there are big plugs in the kitchen and public living room. The public toilet is still quite clean. The location is remote and quiet, it is recommended to live in Ambleside. The last bus at this location is 19:35. Puddleduck House is an extremely stylish and spacious three bedroom house situated right in the centre of the stunning village of Coniston, in the Lake District National Park. Surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery, the property has two large receptions (inc. feature log-burner), well-equipped kitchen, downstairs WC, three spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, garden and a spacious garage offering parking for two cars. 1 min walk from the village and 8-10 mins from the Lake. Super-fast WiFi.Puddleduck House is a fantastic house for holidaying in the Lake District. Being situated right in the heart of the village (with no nasty hills to climb to get to and from the pub!) it is close to everything - the lake, the mountains, the walks, the pubs, restaurants and takeaways! The house is very spacious and you have a large, comfortable lounge with wall-mounted TV, feature log-burner and comfy leather sofas. The dining room has a large table with seating for 6, plus a highchair should you need one. The kitchen is very well equipped - with microwave, cooker and hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine (there is a tumble dryer in the garage too), dishwasher and even a slow cooker - ideal for coming back to after a long day's walking and sightseeing! There are plenty of cupboards for storing food and the cupboards/draws are very well-equipped with everything you should need for cooking up a storm! On the ground floor there is also a toilet.On the first floor there are two bedrooms - one has a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables and also has the convenience of an en-suite shower room and WC. The other, very spacious, bedroom can either be a family room with two twin beds or a super-comfy superking bed. There is a wardrobe, ornamental fireplace and chest of drawers.On the top floor (can be a master suite) there is the master bedroom which enjoys views across to the mountains and has a kingsize bed, double built-in wardrobes, dressing table and chest of drawers. All of the bedrooms have large mirrors and electrical sockets. The master bathroom, also on the top floor, has fantastic views of Coniston Old Man and the pretty houses dotted around the base of the fells. There is a very luxurious roll-top bath and a separate shower cubicle, WC, wash hand basin plus storage for bathroom effects.Outside the kitchen door is a small back yard with bistro set and gate to private path, across which is the garage. The garage is very spacious and long, with parking for two cars. The garage houses the tumble dryer. To the rear of the garage there is a pretty little garden with patio and grass - and a picnic bench from where you can gaze up at the mountains with a cup of tea or something stronger!
