The house in which the apartment is located belongs to a small complex with only twelve natural stone houses / apartments in Kalathas on the Akrotiri peninsula, at a gorge (nature reserve) above the sea. You have a wonderful view of the gorge, which blooms all year round, and also of the sea. The peaks of the White Mountains can be seen in the distance.

Chania, the former capital of Crete, is considered the most beautiful city on the island and is only 10 km away. Ryanair describes them as follows:

Chania (pronounced "Hania") is certainly the prettiest port city in Greece. Tips for the journey: Crete is only about three hours flight from Germany. There are direct flights to the international airport of Chania from many cities. From there it takes about 15 minutes to the apartment by rental car or taxi. On request, your rental car will be waiting for you at the airport. Alternatively, you can fly to Heraklion, today's capital of Crete. From here a bus goes to Chania every 30 minutes, it takes about two hours to walk the very beautiful route along the coast. If you wish, you can also hire a car from Heraklion airport or the bus station in Chania. Another option is to fly to Athens. From here there is a flight to Chania six times a day, it takes 45 minutes. From Athens you can also take a short sea trip and take the ferry to Souda. The ferry takes about eight hours, and from Souda you can be in the apartment in a quarter of an hour by taxi or rental car.
