Anniversary and birthday. Beautiful hotel looking over Cardiff Bay /Penarth. We had a room overlooking the bay on the 7th floor. Stunning views. Used the Spa and really enjoyed the hydrotherapy funnels. Try and avoid child swim times if you want a little peace. Breakfast was vast offering everything you could possibly need. Catering for vegans too. Lovely stay
- Caroline
I attended my aunts wedding here and had a night to remember. The service went smoothly with friendly and courteous staff. Clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Well located with wonderful romantic views of the bay. Shout out to Ben, who was a big big help, and went the extra mile to ensure all guests desires were met. An unforgettable stay.

Disastrous first booking with trip.com! Travelled with my Daughter and her friend, arrived only to be told there was only a king size bed, room too small for the 3 of us. On booking, the search engine was defaulted to 2 adults, so this was amended accordingly. Thankfully there was a spare room.to accommodate at an additional cost of £30, oh and parking was £10! Not the budget stay I originally thought it to be. Please be careful. Accommodation top class, clean, fresh, beautiful with attention to detail.

My mum and I had a wonderful time staying here! We were given adjoining rooms and it was so lovely to be able to pop in and see each other, whilst also having our own lovely space to stay in! It was a great location, had more than we even thought we needed but it made the visit so comfortable and nice for us!

It was disappointing that our room contained zero information about the history of the hotel, or any information about the hotel at all. In fact, there is no information about the hotel in the public areas. Very odd because a good number of guests, like us, must come because of the history of the building. The management could take a leaf from the Telegraph Hotel in Coventry. Worst however was that there was no hot water in our room (237). We were told by reception to let the water run for 15 minutes! This only produced warm water and is incredibly wasteful for the environment. Worst of all was the black mould all round the bath. Really unforgivable. The jacuzzi bath was a bit odd in the context of a Victorian hotel. A proper shower and hot water should be the priority. In summary, having been looking forward to our stay, the Coal Exchange was a big disappointment.

After a few visits to Cardiff staying in various iffy hotels in the city centre we returned to The Future Inn last night - and have vowed to stay nowhere else from now on!! Firstly it's so easy from J33 M4 and the parking is spacious and FREE - Yes FREE!! Easy check in from an on-line flexible booking, reasonable rate. Friendly staff, large rooms, right temperature, very clean and good facilities (Welsh bottled water, kettle/hot drinks, nice bickies). Very good breakfast - using Welsh Ingredients. Also another plus point - Very easy to get to the city centre (Queen Street), using the shuttle train 4mins, from Cardiff Bay - Queen Street. The station is literally <5mins from The Future Inn & runs until midnight - about every 10mins or so. Cheap tickets (book ahead/use railcard) = £4 return for 2 people. Really enjoyed our stay & will be booking another stay later tonight. Well done The Future Inn!!

Stayed 2 nights to visit some old haunts and to witness the changes in the City since my last visit over 30 years previously. As such the hotel is perfectly located in the Bay Area which has been completely redeveloped and is totally unrecognisable since I was last in the city (when Tiger Bay was off-limits after dark!) Service was attentive and good, the staff helpful and unfailingly pleasant and keen to please. The room was as expected, comfortably furnished and clean. All expected amenities were installed. Breakfast was included in the price we paid and was the usual buffet offer - generous, tasty and good quality. Perhaps the eggs were a little over-cooked but this would be a very harsh criticism and I would rather comment on the excellence of the fresh fruits offered. The hotel has a restaurant facility (Thomas's) offering fairly standard fare of the burger/chicken/pasta variety. It may not win a Michelin star but it was good, filling stuff which frankly I prefer and was good enough to tempt me back the second night. Location is good on the fringes of the redeveloped Cardiff Bay. Access from J33 of the M4 was quick and easy (on site parking is provided) but make sure your Sat Nav is up to date if you do not know the area as most roads are very new. (Suggestion: Hotel should publicise nearby rail shuttle service with a 4 minute train journey to the City Centre every 12 minutes throughout the day).

We arrived on a late flight from Portugal with a particular room booked which we had done through a third party booking service (queen). The hotel was clearly very busy and we were put into a room with twin double beds. This was not ideal and we asked the receptionist if it was possible to have the room we had booked. She moved us to a much nicer room (same footprint but better layout which meant I could share a bed with my husband!). This was a real 5/5 from us because despite an initial problem the really kind and professional receptionist went out of her way to fix it, and also comped us a couple of drinks which was unexpected and massively appreciated. It has made me much more likely to choose this chain again, knowing that a small hiccup will be dealt with nicely. Great staff. Room was comfortable and well proportioned and I like the fact that the toiletries are in dispensers so less plastic waste! The bar was lovely as well with really nice common areas to relax. Late night bar staff were charming and friendly. Well done Hilton!

A little confusing at the entrance to the hotel car park as we only wanted do a drop off before parking in the multi storey car park . We thought there was a charge as there were barriers but apparently you can drive in and get your ticket validated at the desk for one hour free. There was a long queue at check in which seemed to take ages. But the girl was pleasant and friendly and explained everything. Our rooms were together as requested and they all had sofa beds made up although we didn’t need them in all rooms. It was certainly adequate for one night before flying and even had a safe. Soap and shampoo pumps were provided in the bathroom and there was a hairdryer. Tea and coffee also. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable and was too close to the bathroom wall on one side so making it difficult for my husband to get in and out of bed ! The room was quiet until people started moving between 3-4 am. We had an evening meal which was served fairly quickly considering it was busy and the food was just ok. My husband found the cheese and ham panini rather dry and boring but it was served with a salad and chips. My chicken tikka was nice but had a soggy popadom . There were quite a few other choices including jacket potatoes and burgers. We didn’t hang around over breakfast as we had to get over to the airport which was about a ten minute walk away through an undercover walkway which only lasted a short distance so not so good if raining! In all it served a purpose but not cheap for one night at £152!

The hotel was excellent, when we first arrived the reception area was very busy, but the staff were very polite, and took the time to explain to each guest how to use the cards to the rooms. The room and hotel were very clean and smelt fresh, our room only had a shower, when i returned to main reception and asked for a room with a bath, Michael working at the main desk was very polite, friendly, well mannered and when above and beyond to find us a room that fitted our needs, our stay was very pleasant and because of Michaels professional attitude towards the guests we have already decide to return in the summer. so if you need a place to relax and enjoy WSM book this hotel, thank you to all the staff who work over the festive season. The hotel was good value for the money, and has a high recommendation from us if you are planning a vist to WSM, 7 minutes to the beach.

Originally hailing from the area, it felt strange returning to old haunting grounds. The hotel has very much grown up since the 80's when I last visited. We booked an accessible room with breakfast. Parking could be an issue with less able or limited mobility (the disabled parking is at the bottom of a steep approach to the entrance) Ringing reception from my car, a very nice young man said it would be ok to park outside the main entrance thus avoiding the steep incline. Our room was on the 6th floor and didnt have a ”view” as at the side/back of the hotel. However, in terms of accessibility, we couldn't fault our room. The room was spacious for my husbands wheelchair, with both USB and plug sockets next to the bed which is good for charging his wheelchair. The bathroom is a wet room with a nice set up of lower sink and grab rails etc. We enjoyed a couple of drinks in the modern bar area before going to eat in the restaurant. We chatted to the staff who were very efficient and very friendly. In particular Julie, who was Maitre 'D was very attentive to our needs and we had a good rapport with her. Our evening meal was cooked extremely well and was very tasty. Breakfast was equally well cooked with a great selection of items to choose from. Again, Julie helped with serving our food directly to us as I also have mobility issues. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate in revisiting this hotel, it is one of the best hotels in terms of quality and accessibility that we have stayed in.

We got married at Cadbury in July this year and I couldn’t recommend them enough. From the very start of planning to the big day everything was amazing. The wedding team are the best, Erin and Matilda were so helpful and accommodating, communication was brilliant, emails were always answered so quickly and nothing was too much trouble. Paris and Katie looked after us on the day and they were also incredible. They kept us informed the whole day of how things were going and what we were supposed to be doing and when. They really did look after us, always checking if we needed anything, bringing us breakfast in the morning, helping with button holes and flowers, helping with the buttons on my dress, literally anything we needed they sorted. The whole day ran so smoothly because of them. All the staff were so friendly and happy and everything was done so seamlessly. The wedding breakfast and the evening buffet food was absolutely delicious. Tracey from the reservations team was brilliant. She sorted out all my room bookings for my guests so efficiently and was so helpful when I had to cancel/change names on some rooms relatively last minute. I really enjoyed all the planning with the team and the day was the most perfect day, thank you.

Excellent hotel in great location on the sea front and not far from the town centre. Our room was the largest we’ve ever had. Large bedroom with good size en-suite bathroom. Separate seating area with table and two chairs, very large dressing table and a large tv. There was also a separate dressing room/wardrobe room with full length mirror. Ample cupboards and wardrobes. The whole building well maintained and decorated. All the staff without exception were excellent. All very friendly, smiling and helpful. Food was good and plentiful. Entertainment on two nights by singer Simon Kelly and singer/comedian Micky Bull was the best we’ve ever had. Wouldn’t hesitate to use this hotel again. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Rooms good and clean, hotel clean, only downside there was 2 adult 2 children in the room as it was on second floor windows don't open and you have a sort of air con system but it only goes down to 17° it got very hot in the room especially after showers and baths. Very hot during the night widows where soaked in the morning just felt like you had no air. I dread to think what it would be like in the summer. Apart from the hot room every thing else was lovely including the restaurant and the food! Also location was great!

Sand Bay do 4 of these Mon-Fri dance breaks each year, For anyone who enjoys Ballroom/Latin/Sequence dancing, I could not rate these breaks highly enough. For the ridiculously inexpensive price of £178 for BOTH of us, this is what we got! ..... 4 nights accommodation in a basic, clean chalet with a sparkling white bathroom, bed made up, towels & soap provided. 4 evening meals & 4 breakfasts, all good, esp the puddings! Approx 20 min wait for hot food but this was perfectly acceptable as the park was completely full with 750 guests. Drink prices very reasonable. BRILLIANT dancing all evening plus a Cabaret act at 9.45pm. Some dancing was to piped music, some with either 4tune (least said the better!🤣) or Eclipse who were pretty good! Great to dance to live music! Special mention to the 3 girls who sang 2nd night - really good 40s 50s 60s songs plus a tribute to her late Majesty the Queen which was very moving. There was some line dancing - great fun & a little “disco” dancing in addition to the ballroom, latin & sequence, men & ladies all dressed up and there was a lovely atmosphere- people are so friendly at Pontins! During the day there are lessons - sequence & line dancing. These are taken by proper, professional dance reachers and they are very good. In the afternoon there is a tea dance but we skipped this as needed a rest before the evening dancing started at 6.45! All that for £178 plus drinks- amazing! Oh yes & they even moved the Bingo to the Queen Vic so we could have more dancing 💃🏼😀 I only wish they did Dance Weekends too so we did not have to use up so much holiday! Thank you Sand Bay - loved it!!!!

The room was very large, bit dated and in need of some tlc, a lamp each side of the bed is expected. Only a small bin in the bathroom. The shower room is in need of a deep clean, I couldn't face using it, but it was also absolutely freezing as there was no heating on, so it was all starting to feel very cold.and damp in the room. The continental breakfast was ok. We did have very noisy upstairs neighbours on our last night, which had to be told twice by the night porter to be quiet, last time at 3am! It was cheap and cheerful and in a great location, and we understood the ethos of the staffing, etc. we would stay again if we were going that way but not for long. Parking could be an issue. Once we were in, we didn't want to lose our spot, so that was a bit inhibiting for the evening. It needs the heating on now as you can't dry the towels it is too cold in there.
