It's located across from Cologne Cathedral, and looks spectacular lit up at night. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I was happy to have free water in the room, but perhaps because Germany is an environmentally advanced country, it was bottled water rather than plastic bottles. It's inconvenient to carry around, but it was enough for making tea in the room.
If I had to say something negative, it would be that you have to cross a bridge to get to Cologne Cathedral and the station, but you have to go down a flight of stairs to get to the hotel entrance. It was a bit inconvenient to go up and down with a suitcase.FromUS$219

Built in 1999, the hotel has an older design but is well-functioning. We booked a room with a church view, which was spacious. However, the bathroom only offered a 3-in-1 shampoo/conditioner/body wash, which doesn't quite meet the standards of similarly priced hotels in the city. A rather interesting feature is the grand lobby; at first glance, I thought it was a shopping mall! The piano bar on the first floor had a great atmosphere in the evening, until we realized the music seemed to be from a speaker and not actually played by a person, haha (or maybe the pianist had just finished their shift when we passed by).FromUS$105

The Good:
- Location is right in the middle of everything and few steps from the Cologne Cathedral and the Cologne Central Station.
- Most of the staff were nice and helpful. The young lady (she had curly hair) and the Dutch man were amazing and friendly!
- The room given to us was huge! It had a living room.
- The price was affordable considering we went during peak holiday season with the Christmas markets open.
The Bad:
- We were on the 5th floor and the lift was only until the 4th floor. We had to carry our luggages up 2 flights of stairs to get to our room. Also the lift was tiny! It could only fit 2 persons or 1 person with luggage.
- Heating was not working. When we arrived, we were wondering why we had 2 portable heaters (with 1 not working), we realised the radiators were not working!
- The bathroom stank the whole room everytime we came in from outside. It seemed to come from the drainage.
- The bathroom has a huge window (not frosted, no curtain) that makes you uncomfortable when showering! I had to turn the lights off at night so I wasn't visible from outside. And during the day, I had to crouch.
- The shower cubicle was so tiny! I kept hitting the shower lever so the temperature kept changing while showering. I had to leave the glass door open so I can move.
- The sofas in the living room had stains.
- The king bed was actually 2 single bed beds placed side by side and I kept falling into the middle crack.
- The mattress had a lump in the middle. It was uncomfortable.
- There was 1 female staff (older lady), who was rude. We asked to collect our luggage we left after we checked out and she had this pissed off expression like we bothered her for asking.
I had high expectations as I have stayed in Wyndham hotels before and this hotel was not up to par.FromUS$42

The location of the Adina Hotel is very good. It is close to the train station, very convenient, and at the same time surprisingly quiet, which I really appreciated.
What I liked most is that the room is well equipped for a longer stay. Having a full-sized fridge, a washing machine, and basic cooking facilities makes a big difference and adds a lot of comfort. The gym is perfectly fine, and there is also a swimming pool, which is a nice bonus. Overall, I was quite happy staying here for an extended period.
There are a few downsides though. Housekeeping is supposed to happen every three days, but in reality it is quite irregular and unpredictable. Sometimes it does not happen at all unless you actively ask for it, which is a bit annoying. There is an app to request services, but unfortunately it did not work properly during my stay. Breakfast is okay but very basic and repetitive. The selection was exactly the same every day over two weeks, which gets boring quickly.
In general, it is a good hotel for a longer stay, especially if you value space and self-service facilities, but there is room for improvement in housekeeping consistency and breakfast variety.FromUS$110

We’re really glad we chose to stay at CityClass Hotel am Dom. Just a little tip for future travelers – there’s another hotel with a similar name nearby under the same group, so double-check you’re at the right one!
Since this was our second-to-last stop, our suitcases were already packed with souvenirs and memories. Carrying them up even just a few steps felt like a mini workout — but nothing we couldn’t manage.
We arrived a bit earlier than the check-in time, and the front desk staff were very welcoming. After checking our details, they kindly stored our luggage so we could head out and enjoy the city without any hassle.
