The Cherno Base Chestnut Tree Hotel is a pleasant surprise. Originally thought it was not a hotel chain, there was some doubt in management and service, but I did not expect it to be as clean and comfortable. The hotel lobby is very warm and intimate, with an Indian style and a special character. There is a fireplace to roast the fire, and a glass house to soak up the sun.

The lobby was nice and decorated well, well kept. The room was comfortable and clean. The WiFi did not work at all during our stay. Try to call the front desk but was hung up on me twice. I suppose the front desk guy didn’t want to be bothered or too busy. In that regard, not much service can speak of or no service at all.

Very clean, the bath products are all Neutrogena brand products. You can add a baby cot for free, but it is first-come-first-served. Don't believe the saying ”Ctrip says the needs have been remarked”. The breakfast is the third oldest in continental style, which can’t be said to be rich and delicious, but it is definitely full. There are some fast food restaurants near the hotel, there is a Walmart, which can stock up for Jinshan.

Very clean and tidy, the room is spacious, the bed is big, soft and hard, all the facilities are complete and relatively new. Reasonable prices for non-weekends. It's the best place to live in the Great Smoky Mountains, much better than Gatlinburg. The only regret is that the sound insulation effect of the bathroom is not good, and the sound of flushing the toilet is very loud. But sleep is still very quiet.

I’ve never wanted to stay at a super 8 bc I’ve always heard such bad experiences but surprisingly my experience wasn’t at all bad this was a pretty decent hotel & the carpet in our room felt like the cleanest carpet I’ve felt even better then the higher end hotels. The guy up a the front desk was informative & nice. Great room considering the price!

I really wish Rodeway would spend a little money here to fix the place up. It is the best location in Cherokee, yet treated as one of the after thoughts in investment. We booked a suite that was supposed to have a Jacuzzi. After checkout it wasn't listed in the details but too late to cancel. I requested our room to be upgraded and never received a response or acknowledgement and of course we got stuck without one. Couldn't figure out where the pool was or even if they had one but supposedly they should have one. Water in the bath tub constantly dripped and we couldn't get it to shut off. We reported it immediately to the front desk as soon as we entered the room but we suffered 3 days with the nonstop sound of dripping running water because they had no one who could do maintenance. Our room was positioned directly over the lobby and across from the elevator and the soundproofing was almost non-existent. We heard everything. Dogs barking, neighbors arguing, doors closing, every trip of the elevator and every movement of the lobby doors. It was hard to get any sleep. And then the TV was quite old a 20” screen stuck at the ceiling with lots of noise / static across the picture. Hubby wanted to watch the FIFA games but the pic quality was so bad you couldn't even tell where the ball was. The wifi was only accessible on one side of the room and when you had access it was only 0.41mbs. It was clean if you ignore the dog hairs on the sofa and chairs etc. Breakfast was so-so. Nothing was made fresh it was all prepackaged stuff, and it was hot only if you microwaved it. So the stay was ”alright” but we feel like we were overcharged considering all of the issues above. We took a vacay last year to Hot Springs spent the same amount of money per night and that hotel was pure luxury compared to this it was so clean, uptodate, hot fresh breakfast, big tv screen, cook stove, large refrigerator, even had some dishes stocked and a dishwasher in the room. You don't go on vacay for the room but at the very least you should be comfortable enough to relax during your stay especially at the rate they charge.
