The cleanliness of the room is really good! It is recommended that the chairs and environment be cleaned! The water will be blocked when taking a shower, and the door on the first floor of the room cannot be locked. Did you respond to the landlord? As for after booking a room, it is recommended to send complete information on how to check in! Because you have to contact the landlord first when you arrive at the site. Apart from these problems, it’s basically okay.

Excellent! The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to the Blue House. The hotel's design and ambiance are simply beautiful. It felt less like staying in a hotel and more like being a guest in the home of someone with great taste and an appreciation for art. The front desk service was also very good – friendly and they spoke Chinese. Although breakfast was simple, it tasted great. As the last stop on our trip, it truly felt like a well-deserved treat.

The room was very spacious and appeared to be recently renovated. The location is convenient, and there is plenty of parking available. However, I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness. I had specifically requested a clean room as I am sensitive to dust and easily develop allergies. Unfortunately, there were hairs underneath the pillow, stains on the towels, and even ants inside one of the cups provided. The floor was also noticeably dusty with hairs in several areas. That said, the staff were friendly and responsive. When I requested a change of bedsheets and pillowcases, they attended to it very quickly and were helpful throughout. I hope the hotel can improve its housekeeping standards, as the room itself has great potential.

We were a family of five, including two adults, two elderly family members, and a 4-year-old boy, and stayed at JEN Penang for two nights. The hotel is in a very convenient location, with shopping malls and many well-known local restaurants within a 5 to 10-minute walking distance. However, due to Penang's hot and humid weather, I would not recommend walking outdoors between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast offered a reasonable variety of options and was sufficient for a pleasant start to the day. The hotel has a swimming pool, although it is relatively small. One side of the pool, which accounts for about one-third of its size, has a depth of 2 metres. As a result, the usable space for younger swimmers is somewhat limited, and the pool can feel crowded during the afternoon. There is also a separate children's pool, which is suitable for toddlers aged around 2 to 3 years old. While the hotel generally met our expectations, it does feel a little dated in some areas. We also encountered some cleanliness issues in our bathroom, which was disappointing and not quite what we expected from a property under the Shangri-La Group. In addition, it would be a nice touch if children's amenities could be provided proactively at check-in for families travelling with young children, rather than requiring guests to request them separately. Overall, the hotel's excellent location, friendly service, and family-friendly facilities make it a good choice for exploring George Town and Penang. With some improvements to housekeeping standards and family amenities, the guest experience could be even better.

It's clear this hotel was once a grand establishment, but it's lost its former glory, as the renovation probably dates back to the 90s. The doormen at the entrance were a pleasant surprise; since there's quite a steep staircase leading into the hotel, someone to help is super helpful (they helped me carry my suitcase up and then down when I checked out). I had a room on the 17th floor with two single beds. If you're tall, your feet might hang off the beds; I'm 163 cm and even I felt they were a bit short. The room is cleaned daily – even though I didn't use the toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, lotion, toothbrushes), they conscientiously replenished them every time after cleaning. They provide two bottles of water per day, but I didn't see a water cooler. There's a hairdryer, fridge, safe, and wardrobe. The pool on the 8th floor seemed a bit small to me, but you can still swim. Towels are provided there, and next to it, there's even a small gym with a treadmill. The buffet-style cafe on the 1st floor doesn't have any meat, but there are fruits, lots of local pasta dishes, pastries, juices, coffee, and tea – you definitely won't go hungry if you order breakfast. And the location is excellent – very close to key malls. I definitely recommend it.

The hotel's location is excellent. It's within walking distance to the Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower, City Hall, and the waterfront. You can also walk to the tourist area's mural streets and the Peranakan Museum. The cleanliness and service are both above average. Although the breakfast offers a good variety, the taste is just okay, but it was still the most palatable among the three hotels I stayed at this trip. They offer congee and pickled vegetables. The hotel provides large umbrellas for guests to borrow. However, it's really not necessary as rain in Penang usually comes in short bursts, so there's no need for such a big umbrella. The room is old, and the bathroom leaks, as shown in the picture. I wouldn't recommend booking breakfast at any hotel in Malaysia. Breakfast at local restaurants is much cheaper and tastier. The only thing you'll need to worry about in Penang is your appetite being too small!

Such a relaxing stay at Penang and this hotel. Super awesome location. Very central. There’s a food street just around the corner across the street. Walking distance to major attractions. The housekeeping staff was super friendly! I left something really small when I checked out I came back and asked for it and the housekeeping staff went through the whole room (including garbage) to help me find it. Really appreciate that! The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. They had all the necessities including slippers and razor. Very happy with my stay. I do recommend!

Strategically located hotel in the George Town area. It's only a 10-minute walk to Macalister Street (there are many good food stalls near the hotel, and a food stall right next door).
