We offer on-site parking for $20/day. Please inquire for further details about obtaining a parking pass. There is also paid parking nearby at 189 Dalhousie Street (8 minute walk).
Please note the apartment is located on the second floor and going up the stairs is required for access.

A short walk from Parliament Station, the Sheraton gave us a spacious room. However, there was no kettle to boil water for tea - we used the coffee maker instead. There was some kind of problem with the pipes in the wall, meaning a shopvac had to be left running in the hallway outside our room 24hr/d. The carpet in our closet next to the bathroom was always soaked, probably because of the problem.
Perhaps because it was near Centretown, we had one or two homeless or disturbed people on the sidewalks near the hotel. This made it uncomfortable for me to approach with my children because of their random mutterings and throwing of drink bottles. However this only happened twice during our weeklong stay.

The room was a bit small, and the counter felt like something from an economy hotel. Perhaps as an online platform guest, I was assigned a lower floor room where a huge exhaust fan on the outdoor platform vibrated and made noise clearly audible inside. I got back to the hotel late at night, and my child fell asleep immediately, so I didn't want to complain in the middle of the night. I finally fell asleep after two hours, a really terrible stay. However, the cleaning lady in the morning was excellent; I left my wallet on the table, and she immediately took it to the front desk. Thumbs up for her!FromTHB 4,294

Went to front desk to tell them air conditioner and fridge was not working. Asked him to send someone in an hour. Didn’t write our room number down. No one came. Sent someone right after my second complaint. Maintenance came twice didn’t fix air conditioner or mini fridge. The location has some certain distance to subway stations, but it only matters if you arrive to or depart from the hotel using transit, as you might need to walk for around 10 minutes in order to get to the hotel. However, most of the attractions (Parliament, ByWard market) are within walkable distance (less than 20 minutes) so it is not a problem for me. The room is extremely spacious with even a kitchen and a printer for this price point, and the room is clean. However, the shower blinds have some gaps which seeps water to the floor wet while showering… The staff is really nice and friendly, and the free breakfast that comes with the room is good enough (I like the sausage and the egg bites). The laundry is 24/7 and comes with complimentary laundry sheets and powder, which is a big plus.
However, do note that there is a certain chance that you’ll be assigned to a first floor room, which is essentially the ground floor… One of the entrance (the one next to the parking lot) for ground floor rooms can look a little bit sketchy at night. Since my room is also next to Elgin street where people go to the pubs at night, it can get a little bit noisy, but the bed is far away from the window so it sort of cancelled the disadvantage. It would be better if the front desk asked if a ground floor room was OK before giving the room cards.FromTHB 3,664

The room was quite comfortable, and the bedding was just right. Overall, the hotel felt pretty good. Its location, right in the heart of the city, is particularly convenient for transportation and city walks. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, always offering warm walnut pie, which made up for the slight inconvenience of the lobby renovation. They say it'll be finished in May, and looking at the renderings, the newly renovated lobby seems promising.
There's one slightly unpleasant incident I'd like to mention. We booked a room with breakfast, and on the first morning, we went to the restaurant. After registering our room number at the entrance, the server immediately asked if we'd like coffee or tea. I asked for a double espresso, and she cheerfully arranged our seating while talking, which felt quite good. However, as our meal was nearing its end, the server presented a bill saying the coffee was an extra charge. This approach felt a bit disingenuous, and it's the first time I've encountered such a thing. I was a bit unhappy and immediately asked the server why they didn't inform us upfront when we were at the entrance. In our usual way of thinking, coffee with breakfast is perfectly normal. Seeing our displeasure, and noticing the $10 CAD tip we left on the table, the server beamed and said she would take care of the coffee bill, implying it wouldn't be charged. However, three days later, it still appeared on the bill at check-out. Although it was only $4 CAD, that's not the point. I complained about it at the front desk, and they also agreed that such a practice was inappropriate and offered to re-print the bill and refund me. I didn't want the hassle and declined. I'm only mentioning this in hopes that they won't resort to what frankly feels like a deceptive tactic in the future. Perhaps it was an individual server's action, but it ultimately affects the Hilton group's image. Because of this, I'd also like to offer a friendly tip to future guests.FromTHB 3,977

This hotel is nice & cozy. Clean pool & gym, good breakfast. There is a small shop at Lobby. A supermarket “Food Basics” will be opening soon opposite the hotel, this is very good if you prefer to cook meals. Subway is just opposite too & lots of buses stop by around the hotel. Walking to China town takes only 15-20 mins where you can dine at different restaurants. We will stay here again next time when visiting Ottawa.FromTHB 4,841

Where to begin... first of all, when I made this booking, there was no mention whatsoever of HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION beginning every day at 7 a.m. Naturally upon checking in, I'm informed that there is intense construction happening right next door. And yes, it was brutal. I also SPECIFICALLY booked this hotel because there was an option to reserve now, pay at the hotel. Here are some direct quotes from my booking confirmation email: ”You'll need to pay upon check-in at Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” ”Your payment will be handled by Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” and ”Pay at Hotel.” Sure enough, I get there, and the money's already been taken out of my credit card and I owe nothing to the hotel upon check-in. (This matters for reimbursement purposes at the company I work for.) Lastly, I was told when I checked in that housekeeping would be visiting every third day -- that was fine by me. But the very first day, I come back to my room after a long day and someone's been there, replacing towels, removing the minimal garbage in there, etc., which I was not at all prepared for given that I was advised the opposite. It made me extremely uncomfortable because all of my personal effects were left throughout the room, not expecting housekeeping given that I was advised no housekeeping would be coming until the third day. I'll be honest, that creeped me out as someone travelling alone. The staff were apologetic but I didn't find their explanation at all sufficient. (The housekeeping manager and front desk attendant completely contradicted each other.) Overall, such a chaotic stay. Oh, and, the heat in my room didn't work. Had to request a space heater...
