The service was good, but I'm not sure why the butler assigned to me only showed up once, on check-in day! The SPA was fantastic, and of course, the most important thing for a spa is the therapist's skill. If I remember correctly, the one who served me was named Maggie! As a hotel that topped the domestic hotel prices upon opening, the actual stay experience didn't quite feel worth the money. Due to its location, the hotel's public areas are limited. Even cultural classes have to be held in guest rooms. However, this time I learned about intangible cultural heritage gold leaf painting, and the hotel provided tools, so I can continue creating at home! In summary, whether it's dining, room facilities, service details, or other aspects, the hotel still has room for improvement. Please keep striving to become a true benchmark in the hotel industry, and not just a price king!

The room lives up to Mandarin Oriental's usual quality; it's clear a lot of effort went into the interior design, giving it a high-end feel. The breakfast at Vicini is all made-to-order, fresh and superior to a buffet style. The butler team's communication throughout the stay was smooth, addressing our needs promptly. The courtyard ambiance allows guests to experience a different way of life.

The quadrangle courtyard has a very strong positive vibe, and the scenery is beautiful. The Ming and Qing dynasty architecture really captures the essence of old Beijing. What I liked most was the private butler, Danika, who provided thoughtful service; even the kids loved her. Breakfast can be delivered to the room, which was an absolute treat. The room was spacious, giving the children plenty of room to play, and they could also enjoy the courtyard. Danika helped us with our luggage and thoughtfully prepared sun hats for the children, which were incredibly practical. Five-star recommendation!!!
- M40413****
Before check-in, private concierge Danika proactively added me on WeChat to ask about my stay and introduce the hotel's facilities and restaurants. The room was well-maintained, and they provided a generous welcome amenity. The bedding was very comfortable, and the hotel's location is great, right next to Wangfujing. At check-out, Danika specially wrote a card wishing me a smooth journey to my next destination 🥹. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I have the chance.

It is very convenient to travel by car with the elderly, children and dogs. It is located halfway up the mountain next to Gubei Water Town. The housekeeper registered the car in advance, so the car can be parked directly downstairs. The room is large and comfortable, and the children are also very happy.

The room was very nice. I was very tired from the two-day trip to Gubei, but my family felt that the best thing was to stay here and have a hot pot in the room to keep warm and warm. The children also had fun playing with Lego in the room and playing on the swing. Very happy too🥳Awesome👍

On weekends, a family came out to play and enjoy the summer in Beijing. The environment of the homestay is very good. My favorite should be the large terrace on the roof. It is very cool to blow a small wind at night. It is good to raise a glass and drink with three or five friends. The homestay provides a lot of things, eating, drinking and having fun, and the boss and housekeeper are very good.

Starting the day perfectly with a super five-star experience! The most delightful surprise during this stay was undoubtedly the hotel's breakfast. It perfectly embodies the luxury and thoughtfulness of a super five-star hotel; calling it the 'pinnacle of breakfast' is no exaggeration. Since I was traveling with my child and elderly parents, they place a high importance on breakfast. The plan was basically to eat until full, then head out to play, and finally grab some local delicacies in the afternoon when hungry again. But back to the breakfast, haha. The sheer variety was dazzling, with a perfect blend of Chinese and Western stations that felt like a culinary world tour. In the Chinese section, the freshly cooked braised beef noodles had a broth that was incredibly savory and delicious. I highly recommend the instant noodles (for instant noodle fanatics), especially with toppings like braised beef brisket—it's absolutely divine. There were also steaming hot Cantonese shrimp dumplings and siu mai, each bite bursting with authentic flavor, even better than what you'd find in a Cantonese restaurant. The freshly baked waffles were crispy and sweet, the muffins soft and moist, and the chef could even custom-make Eggs Benedict with your preferred toppings, offering a delicate and smooth texture. The quality of the ingredients was visibly high-end. Seasonal fruits were neatly cut and plump, with juicy sweet watermelon, fresh blueberries, grapefruit, and golden kiwi. The cold cuts and cheese slices were of superior quality. In addition to freshly ground coffee, there were various fresh juices; the orange juice, watermelon juice, and especially the apple carrot juice, all had a fresh fruit aroma that concentrated drinks simply can't compare to. The service and ambiance further elevated the breakfast experience. The dining area was spacious and bright, with window seats offering beautiful views of the Forbidden City. The morning light streaming in created a wonderful sense of occasion. The staff were prompt in clearing plates, always with a friendly smile, and would even proactively recommend signature dishes. Food replenishment was quick, so empty platters were never an issue. This breakfast transcended the meaning of merely 'eating until full'; it was a dual enjoyment for both the palate and the experience. Waking up early for this breakfast was absolutely worth it, and it truly makes the hotel's 'super five-star' reputation well-deserved. The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom area was spacious, not cramped at all. The unlimited complimentary mineral water was a fantastic touch. All the staff members, both male and female, were attractive, and the auntie who delivered amenities was gentle and kind. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Beijing—it's simply amazing! Oh, and the hotel has a wonderful scent, a unique and sophisticated fragrance. It's super child-friendly; the staff proactively engaged in conversation and inquiries, communicating fluently in both Chinese and English. Even the disposable toiletries were made of wood, which felt incredibly high-quality. I even took the small wooden comb as a souvenir, haha.
- M330467****
Overall, it was a very good stay. The room facilities and hygiene conditions were perfect. For a hotel in this price range, the location is excellent, but the view is actually quite ordinary. The terrace room didn't offer any exterior views. In such cases, the service should compensate, but it was just so-so. The front desk staff, however, were very friendly, though there weren't any warm, delightful surprises. I'd suggest adding butler service and offering small souvenirs.

Service: Absolutely fantastic. Every staff member was incredibly proactive, always anticipating needs and resolving issues efficiently. They were quick to adjust plans, which made my stay very pleasant. They offered a different 'goodnight soup' each evening; it was a shame I was always too full from dinner to try it. I really loved the complimentary xiangyunsha pouch. Food: I tried both RB and Rongfu Banquet meals, and they were exceptionally delicious. The fruit quality was excellent. I returned to my room stuffed every night; the portions were quite generous. The environment was quiet, and breakfast hours were long, extending until past 1 PM. While the selection wasn't huge, the taste was great. I highly recommend the rice noodles. Room: The cleanliness was top-notch. The room itself was beautiful and very artistic, with a view of the distant mountains. Sitting in the courtyard in the morning listening to the birds was very relaxing. The overall environment was quiet, though the view wasn't as expansive as I'd hoped. The hotel offered a few small activities, which I enjoyed and found pleasant. I also appreciated the policy of not allowing children under 12 or pets. Now for a few minor drawbacks: Considering the holiday pricing, the room structure felt a bit small; it was long but not wide enough, making the living space slightly inadequate. The shower and bathtub frequently dripped, which sometimes disturbed my sleep. We didn't particularly like the visual effect of the wall behind the shower when the lights were off at night; it felt a bit uncomfortable. Also, the duvet made noise when turning over, which affected my sleep.

My husband and I escaped the city for two days. We drove up a winding mountain road to the hotel. The moment the big gate opened and we drove in, the mountain view that greeted us felt like another world – absolutely breathtaking. The resort is built around the hotel, and as soon as we stepped out of the car, a staff member was there to greet us and help with our luggage. We sat on the sofa, still mesmerized by the lush green mountain scenery, while the staff brought over the check-in documents. Signing and swiping the card, they provided impeccable, squatting service throughout, always friendly and enthusiastic. They then escorted us to our room, explaining everything along the way. Breakfast is served until 1:30 PM, with unlimited access. It’s a truly relaxing place for a vacation, where day and night blend seamlessly. For dinner, we usually ate at Xin Rong Ji or the charcoal-grilled Western restaurant. The spa was also great, and the gym even has Gyrotonic equipment. I have to say, the founder really has excellent taste; even the small details, like the niche wafer biscuits in the mini-fridge, were delicious! We didn't get to try the cinema or the pool, and only had a quick look at the bar. There’s even a cigar bar! We'll have to leave some things for our next visit.

A (too) Brief but Breathtaking Stay: My Review of Aman Summer Palace My stay at the Aman Summer Palace was nothing short of magical, a true highlight of my trip to Beijing. I was immediately greeted by name—an astonishingly personalized welcome that set the tone for the entire visit. It felt less like checking in and more like being received as an honored guest. The hotel itself is a masterpiece of tranquility and luxury. The facilities, particularly the swimming pool, the gym with its top-notch machines and the unexpected bonus of a Reformer Pilates studio, were truly impressive. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. What makes this place a standout is its unrivaled access to the Summer Palace. The privilege of entering the grounds directly through a private back gate is an experience that cannot be replicated. It felt like a secret key to a world of imperial grandeur, allowing for peaceful, VIP moments before the public arrived. Every detail, from the seamless check-in to my reluctant departure, was handled with an effortless grace that made my solo journey feel utterly pampered. For anyone seeking a unique blend of historical immersion and luxurious retreat, Aman Summer Palace is an absolute dream.
- Flo_G_TdeG
The room temperature was just right, and the interior decor was tastefully unified. The bed was comfortable and supportive, unlike many hotels where they're too soft. Breakfast was rich, delicious, and fresh. The staff were warm and attentive without being overbearing. I was satisfied with the spa. However, the female cashier at the outdoor bar made me a bit uncomfortable. I ordered two teas and charged them to my room, providing my room number and name, but she still insisted on asking for my phone number, as if I were going to skip out on the bill. When I charged the spa service to my room, there was no such questioning or distrustful tone, nor did it feel awkward. I really disliked the service at the outdoor bar. All the other staff, including the front desk, parking attendants, cleaners, and restaurant staff, were very professional and dedicated.

The homestay was built on the old house on the mountainside, and it smells very nostalgic. We were built by a group of 120 colleagues and chose a place that was selected for a long time. The landlord communicated very well, and gave us a detailed introduction to the facilities and usage methods in the house. Our needs helped us think ahead of time. The entertainment facilities in the homestay are mainly mahjong and karaoke. The sound effect of karaoke is very good. The songs in the song table are also very complete. The team 70,80,90 is very satisfied. Everyone sings hi. This time we booked the barbecue ingredients in advance in the yard, roasting while eating and drinking, very comfortable. Unfortunately, the weather is still cold, the small pool made by the hotel can not be played, and it will be more fun to wait for the summer.

A great experience. I found this low-key homestay on the Internet by accident. I came here during the week and there were no other guests. I accidentally contracted the entire small courtyard. The boss is very close to the people and personally called to arrange check-in and other matters. The aunt next door is the waiter of the hotel, on call, warm and thoughtful, and the breakfast is very rich and delicious. The decoration style of the homestay is both retro and romantic, while retaining the original appearance of the old house. You can also barbecue in the yard. It is a place worth visiting again.

The hotel was nice and clean the staff where nice enough. Not what I expected for the price level though. The restaurant times seemed to be different everyday, the only issue I had is that the lobby seems to be constantly full of people (not guests) taking photos and while that the perfectly fine in general this was excessive at times and often blocked the walkways to lifts and stairs to access rooms.

From 2014 to 2019, I spent six-weeks each summer teaching in Beijing, and over that time, the Boyue Beijing Hotel has served as nothing less than a home away from home for me. It is exactly its friendly embrace and easy elegance that distinguishes the Boyue from Beijing’s larger, higher-profile hotels. Still, after a six-year absence caused by the pandemic, I was concerned that I might find a far less welcoming version of the place I had truly come to love. It was a relief to see that Liu Baojun was still out front and that Lisa was still at the head of the dining room, but so many others who had made my stays at the Boyue so unforgettable had moved on. However, no sooner than I checked in, my worries began to vanish completely. That’s when I first met three extraordinary new staff members—Jiaqi, Yonah , and their supervisor Anais—who demonstrated again and again that hospitality was still the heart and soul of coming to stay at this Chaoyang institution. Through the hard work of such talented and committed professionals as these three, the Boyue not only continues to check all the boxes that one expects to find at the highest levels of the hospitality industry—comfort, attentiveness, fine dining, and first-rate facilities—but I am also convinced that in the years since the pandemic, it has actually surpassed its own considerable track record of excellence. Thank you, one and all, for making my latest visit such an absolute pleasure!

I absolutely have to leave a great review for the New Otani Chang Fu Gong, because in all my recent trips to Beijing, having stayed at places like the Beijing Hotel and Shangri-La, I haven't encountered service that met my expectations. Before that, the Marriott Executive Apartments were good. But this time, the Chang Fu Gong absolutely nailed it. From the front desk to the restaurant to the housekeeping, everything was professional. Unlike typical hotels, they didn't bang on my door early in the morning under the guise of cleaning, yet when I returned, the room was already tidied up. The quality of the food in the restaurant was also spot-on. Even though the hotel has been operating for a while, it's very well-maintained, making for a comfortable and cozy stay. The location is also excellent. Their business services are thoughtful too. I'm secretly adding this to my favorites.

The location is fantastic, right outside a subway station. It's only about a 10-15 minute ride on Line 2 to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Plus, Guorui City and New World are just a 5-minute walk away, making shopping and snacking super convenient! The room was clean and odor-free, and the bed was so soft I didn't want to get up. The staff, both the guys and girls, were incredibly warm and welcoming. I even forgot my charger, and they actively helped me borrow one! The *youtiao* (fried dough sticks) and *doufunao* (tofu pudding) at breakfast were incredibly authentic. There's also a Huguosi Snack bar downstairs, perfect for late-night cravings. I recently stayed at the Sunworld Hotel, and the experience was fantastic! I definitely have to give it a glowing review! The overall decoration of the hotel is exquisite. The lobby is spacious and bright, and every corner is clean and tidy. I especially want to praise the front desk staff, Zoey. Her service is simply impeccable. When handling the check-in procedures, she was enthusiastic and professional. I asked her many questions about nearby places to visit and dine, and she patiently answered all of them. She also thoughtfully provided a lot of practical suggestions. It made me feel extremely warm and at ease. The biggest advantage is the convenient location, close to the subway, making travel easy. It's right next to Shinsegae Department Store and Chongwenmen Market, so it's convenient for food if you don't feel like going far. The room is quite old, and the soundproofing isn't great, so it's more suitable for travelers who don't spend much time in their room. Think of it as a high-end hostel, and you'll have the right expectation. The service was very good; the room was cleaned daily on time, and amenities were refilled. Just a heads-up about the black and white throw pillow in the room – hair easily sticks to it and is hard to see. On my check-in day, I found long hair on it and promptly tossed it aside.

Environment: The overall design is quite stylish, with a mini-cloakroom right by the entrance, perfect for photos! Hygiene: Generally acceptable, but the carpets and walls aren't very well-maintained and look a bit dirty. If you're particular about details, you might want to consider this. Facilities: Most essentials are available. The gym equipment is comprehensive, and there are personal trainers (likely requiring advance booking). The changing rooms and showers are super spacious and very clean. I even did my makeup in the changing room after my morning workout, as the mirror was huge! However, the gym isn't 24-hour; it closes at 11 PM.

Let's skip the positives; it's an old, established hotel. Here are the negatives: 1. The hairdryer was broken. I tried multiple outlets and confirmed it was completely unusable. I took a shower right before leaving in the morning and then discovered the hairdryer was out of order. Luckily, I have short hair, so it dried quickly, but if it were a woman with long hair, it would definitely have caused a delay. When I brought this up at the front desk, their reaction was simply to thank me for informing them, without a single apology. 2. There was renovation work going on upstairs in the hotel, and the sound of the electric drill was quite loud during the day. There was absolutely no warning given at check-in, nor was there any notice about renovation noise placed in the room. 3. The toiletries were in large bottles, but unbelievably, they couldn't fit into the shower niche (as shown in the picture). I had to make do by placing them awkwardly, or else, when I needed shampoo while showering, I had to open the door, step out of the shower stall, and grab it from the sink area.

This is the perfect hotel for you to rest up when exploring the city, it’s nothing fancy but then again you get what you pay for, some rooms are quite small with no windows but then again it’s very likely that you won’t be spending much time in a hotel room instead of exploring the city. Now locating the hotel can be a bit difficult but there’s lots of famous clubs around, so you can enter one of the clubs name and ask any guards you might find by the gate and they’ll gladly help you. And yes they do accept foreigners

Very good location to go forbidden city Tiananmen Square and Line 8 QianYuHuTong Subway. Not good when we are housed to room 107 for 7 nights which is at the back yard outside the main hall. The room is very noisy as hotel guests are stepping very hard when accessing the metal stairs just right outside the room. The shower area is very slippery maybe due to soap stains not washed regularly. There is also no shower screen and water can run outside shower area and wet the whole toilet. 👎
