Good location, centrally located in Ottawa. There are shopping malls in the surrounding area, and it is also close to the city hall. The front desk paid a $ 100 deposit, and it was returned at ease when checking out. The room is also very good, equipped with a capsule coffee machine and facilities are good. Most hotels in Canada don't seem to have slippers and toothbrushes. This time they also bring their own toothbrush toothpaste.

The hotel itself was ok, and the sanitary conditions were good. The location is in the city center, there are shoppers and Metro in the surrounding supermarkets, and it is about 7-10min to walk to the big shopping center. 15 minutes walk from UO, one stop for the small train. The disadvantage is that there are many homeless people around, especially not recommended to go out at night.

Good location and easy to travel. The room was clean, with toiletries, open kitchen, tableware, large space, 1.5 meter bed, separate toilet, quiet, good environment, breakfast is also ok. The only bad thing is that the bed is too soft and the pillows are too high. Later, he lay on his back without using a pillow. I don't sleep well.

My family chose this hotel because it's in the Byward Market and very affordable. The hotel is not only close to the Market, but also walking distance to Rideau Centre shopping mall, and many attractions like Parliament Hill. Yes, there are homeless people wandering around, but we felt safe at our hotel. They have a key card system for the front entrance and parking garage. We were impressed with how clean the hotel is with very friendly, helpful staff. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable facing the courtyard so we never had any issues with noise. We also spent a lot of time at the pool and got coffee every morning from the bistro downstairs. I have zero complaints and only compliments for this hotel.

The hotel room is very large, the design must be beautiful, and the breakfast is also very delicious. It's a typical American breakfast. It's very good to have a menu to order according to your taste. The house has a sofa. It's very considerate to have a waiter come to the room to open the sofa and put it on. Beautiful surroundings of the hotel

It's a Comfort Inn, so a bare bones motels. But, during COVID-19 they have gone below bare bones.....which is impressive in itself! Room was clean and had a fridge, microwave, TV, Iron, Iron board, alarm clock, phone, 2 sets of towels, shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer. Motel authorized $100 on my credit card for ”Amenities”.....LOL...... sorry you have no amenities, say it like it is a ”Damage Deposit”. What has changed is: They have coffee maker in the room, but no coffee. Sorry but not sure how COVID would be spread by making coffee in your room. No hairdryer in the room. The vending machine was almost empty. The air conditioner was HORRIBLE, no more than a fan and during a heat wave, this sucked! Couldn't sleep because it was so hot. No continental breakfast, but they do have a bagged breakfast of orange juice, yogurt and a cheap granola bar. This could be SO much better, there are bagged muffins and fruit that should be in the bag. The motel is within walking distance of the Lone Star restaurant which was great! Overall NOT impressed, and will suggest to the company not to book me here again.

The hotel is simply bad on all counts - cleanliness, sleep quality, unexplainable bill charges. But the main thing for me was that the cleaning staff came into our room when there was a “Privacy Please” sign on our door while we were out. I have been traveling for work since 2005, weekly, and the DND sign was always something that ensures your privacy in any hotel, any country I have been to. The funniest thing is that the hotel declared they would not be cleaning the room for the duration of my stay in the pre-arrival email, which made me happy, and then they still came in to clean it, despite the sign. I called the front desk immediately when I saw it, created a big issue, and they told me that the clean-up was requested and SHEDULED by me. I explained it was impossible and how upset I was, and guess what - NOTHING happened to make things better for us, absolutely nothing. The manager did not call to apologize, there was absolutely no reaction to this, pretty big in my opinion, issue. So yes, hotel folks, if you are reading this – I did bring it to the attention of the staff. Compared to that, the rest was not as outrageous, but still quite bad and generally important to the quality of the stay: - Cleanliness: When we arrived, the toilet seat was dirty, there was pubic hair in the shower and the shower gel dispenser was empty. I did not want anyone in my room, so I sanitized all impacted surfaces, decided to use the little soaps for the showers instead of the gel and moved on. Ironically, when they broke in to clean my room, they still did not fill up the shower gel! That made me laugh when I stopped crying. - Beds: As another review here mentioned, beds are terrible. It is like sleeping on a water bed, you can feel every little movement, and between that and the old pillows, you are lucky if you get any sleep at all. - Room charges: Unlike any other hotel, this one did not send the email with the bill on the morning of the departure. Naturally, after what I have been through there, I decided to check the bill before I leave instead of just leaving like we do. I had booked using points, so my bill was supposed to only have parking charges + tax. However, when I got the print out, there was an additional $38 CAD per night charge just called “Room”, which the front desk could not explain. The further the conversation went, the more defensive the front desk representative got, until eventually they angrily removed the charges. Not even an apology or any sign of regret that there was a mistake, but a whole lot of attitude and pushback on the paying customer who happens to also be a platinum elite at this chain. Still remains to be seen what ends up being on the credit card – I am seeing some strange charges in the ‘pending’ status. As I was coming down to get the bill, check it and leave, I was squirming as I was expecting to be asked ‘how was your stay’ as usual, and I would not have known what to say. “I told you how it was la

Quiet location in Nepean, close to the airport and not too far from the city centre. The front desk staff was efficient and friendly; the room was clean, spacious and well appointed; the breakfast had enough options for most people (scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, pastries, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, tea, juices). We stayed in a river view room with a lovely balcony and an unobstructed view of the river (second floor of the building directly behind the pool).

I rarely stay in hotels however I came to Ottawa to celebrate a kilometerstone (milestone for Americans ;-) birthday and decided to splurge a little. I was able to talk a friend into coming with me. I first saw this hotel on TripAdvisor, went to their own website and found I could book 4 nights for $119/nt. I spent about an hour looking around some of the big Internet travel sites and found the exact room promoted on one of them for $89! I called the hotel and asked if they price matched. After about 10min of them looking online to find the promo I was looking at, the shift supervisor approved the match! I had to agree to pay for all 4 nights whether I used them or not. I didn't care because I was coming! The location is GREAT, next to TransCanada/417 highway. That was very convenient as I had to drive to Carp the next morning and that was the highway I used. I was on that expressway 2 minutes after leaving the hotel! Check in was fast and efficient. The person checking me in was confused when I told her I was on a $89 promo, she had not heard about it but eventually found some notes on my reservation in the computer. Even though there was free parking, I wanted to leave the car at the hotel most days and take public transit downtown. I had heard even with the government shut down, parking was scarce and expensive in the city center. On check in I happened to ask how close a bus stop was to take us downtown as I wanted to do the double deck Grayline tour on Sunday and Monday. The desk clerk said I didn't need to take the city bus as the double deck bus picked up their guests every morning at 9am at the hotel! BONUS! I'm glad I asked. Our room was on the fourth floor and included two very comfortable Queen beds with 7” mattresses and fluffy comforters, a very nice bathroom, 40” LCD TV, small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. They also had WiFi that worked great! There was only one ceramic cup and one plastic cup for the first night, we would have liked two ceramic cups but it was too late to call down and ask. Both my friend and I noted how quiet the surroundings were. Almost the entire floor had booked rooms for two nights but we didn't hear much noise. Also, we were on the back side of the hotel not facing the street or highway so that may have contributed to it. If I were to return, I would ask for a first floor room on the same side of the hotel as each had direct access to the parking lot. Although the room was very clean and comfortable, there were not enough electrical plugs and the only available one to plug in my cell phone and computer was so worn out that the cables would not stay in the plug. I always bring extra cables, I had a long extension that ran from near the head of my bed to the table at the other end of the room. Without it, I would not have been able to charge my devices. One thing that would help is a USB hub of some sort on the night table - maybe a hotel lamp with USB hub built in. That would hav

From the geographical location, it is similar to several other hotels around. It is very close to Capitol Hill. It is no problem for the 4-year-old children to go by themselves. We originally planned to watch the light show, but the baby was not so late. If you don't watch the light show, it is best to live near the market, convenient to eat and drink. Spit the so-called garden view room, through a window of ordinary size, you can see two walls on the left and right (somewhat like a patio), and a narrow street in the distance. I feel that the garden view room is useless. Finally, spit and stop, the hotel does not have self parking, can only give the keys to their people, let them stop. The keys are always in their hands, they want to use the car or take things from the car through them (you can call or go to the lobby to find them, about 10-15 minutes to get the car, depending on how busy they are). Of course, this kind of ”high-end service” is to pay the money (30 knives)... After the spit is finished, the parking service varies from person to person, I don't like it. I wish you a happy trip!

The hotel is particularly well located, next to the Market By, a walk away from Parliament, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Canal Rideau, many parks, etc. There is also a spice store (Metro), A LCBO and a Dollarama nearby. - When I went, the bathrooms were very clean and I saw the household woman working during my stay and she was cleaning them thoroughly every day. - I was not in the main hostel, but in a neighboring building, so less popular and less achelanded. - It was very safe; we were provided with 3 keys: two to have access to the hostel and one for our room. - There is a back parking .... but I do not recommend its use (see points to improve) - The boards provided in my room were clean, though unparalleled. The elements to improve: - It's very room: I never saw walls like rooms all my life; I made a cleaning test with a screw on a wall corner and everything went easy to wash. - There is a kitchen, but to serve it, I waste everything in depth, going to buy myself a cupcake in Dolorama. And when I asked the housewife to clean the oven, she told me that it wasn't me to do that and that she would do it ... but nothing was done in 3 days and it was particularly disgusting. - In fact, I bought torchons (which I left at the hostel) because there was nothing to clean the counters or the table in the kitchen; according to the housewife, everything was to do a little spark to recycle the boilers a format of 2 ''x 3''. Let's say with me, a ”no” is not a answer and I go beyond this kind of refusal. - My private room was small and miserably furnished; I offer a larger room and much better furnished to Couchsurfers than I have been free of charge for years. - The fire detection system sounded for 2 days to indicate that the battery was finished: I asked the housewife, the maintenance man, and two receptionists (men) I had a lot of answers to not do the job, the best of which was the last battery used for the remote control! (Everyone knows that it is a batterie 9V that you install in a smoke sensor and AA or AAA batteries in a remote control, but either the man at the reception did not know it, or he took me as a crush to whom you could believe anything). Finally, a guy came, told me he had solved the problem while we continued to hear

My husband and I just spent the last 4 days at this fine hotel to celebrate my milestone birthday, when plans to the Caribbean were cancelled from Covid. From the time we arrived we were well looked after and pleasantly surprised. The hotel is stunning. It is definitely a 4 star at the minimum. It is fairly new, only having opened a few months ago. It has large rooms with the most comfy beds ever. We had a King Suite, thanks to the kindness of Manager Ken, after a little mix up through a 3rd party booking. We had 2 large rooms, one a living room with a microwave and mini fridge and sink. We had a sepeerare bedroom with its own large screen TV. We could access Netflix through Chromecast. The rooms were very clean as was the entire hotel. It has a lovely pool area with hot tub and a fitness center. The location is perfect. Right across the street is the Tangiers Outlet and easy access to Highway 417 ( the main route going in and out of downtown Ottawa, only 20 min away). We felt totally safe staying there during covid with all the safety measures in place. Masks are mandatory in all common areas, pool is monitored for capacity of 10, rooms are throughly sanitized and there is sanitizer machines everywhere. Ken,the Manager was the absolute best. He oversees every detail to make sure your stay is the most enjoyable. Sabrina and Colt were also hotel staff that made us feel quite welcome and were always friendly and helpful. Thank you Wingate for making my birthday a special one during these crazy times. Anyone looking for a safe place to travel or are considering the Ottawa area after Covid, I highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed.

First of all, I want you to know I have done many reviews of a variety of hotels over the years, and I am not affiliated with any brand, chain or company. Most of the time, I have a great experience and see the benefits of the stay and just try to help others by taking detailed notes and posting long, detailed reviews, so you can plan your stay or stay away, lol.  Read as much or as little as you like, my goal is just to help people out, and to reward places that give exceptional experiences. This desire comes from many years of reading reviews and scouring web sites but often not finding the information I need when travelling with my family. In regards to this Marriott, I have never been so impressed by the design, the value and the features of a hotel, EVER. I didn't believe that after 30 years of hotel stays I could be impressed this much, based on this price point. We stayed at a resort in Algonquin Park a few weeks after our visit here for $650 per night (granted, it included breakfast and dinner delivered to your room) and I would rather have returned to this Marriott. I kid you not, and my wife would agree. Go here. See for yourself. You will not be disappointed. Wow, where do I begin?   Right out of the gate, this is NOT a ”2 Star” hotel. I am not sure how the categorization works, but It is far, far superior to that, and that should be corrected. As a 47 year old father of two kids who played hockey, (plus my own traveling in a past career) I have stayed in my fair share of hotels. This hotel is by far the nicest, best equipped and best value of any of them.   No question.   If you come here, and I certainly suggest you do, you'll be shocked at the size of the rooms, the quality of service, and the amazing staff. Its unreal. The front desk staff were great, kind, friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks again Chris and Amani. You were wonderful, especially when asking how many keys we needed. Most hotels make you ask for more than two, and we always need more than that when travelling with family. The lobby was wide and spacious. Everything was spotless. There were lots of carts for our bags and 4 elevators ready to take us up to our room. There is a small concession area near the front desk offering pop, frozen microwave meals, chocolate/candy/cereal/protein bars and some handy basics like playing cards, laundry soap, Tylenol, etc. There is a price list clearly posted (see pics) and these items are available 24/7. A great idea for sure! You will also see an ATM in the lobby, which my son used to pay for our pizza later that night. There was a fee (of course) which sucks but it was handy when needed. There is also a ”business centre” near the lobby, a wonderful thing to have if you need to print off a document or if you forget your laptop...or if your daughter finally admits she has one more assignment to do for chemistry....lol  The elevator area is incredibly designed to be open and welcoming. No cramped spaces anywhere in this ho

I found this hotel by fluke. They gave me an AMAZING rate. I'm a fairly picky person, I was concerned prior to arrival that this property may not be up to my standards. When I arrived, I was greeted with a friendly smile at the desk. Upon entering the room I was impressed. So clean. Didn't smell like stale old cigarette like MANY non smoking hotels still do (i travel, a lot.). There was no old musty smells. Nothing. It was wonderful. Beds were comfy. My only real complaints and they're not even that really, was that the heat/ac unit doesn't know when to shut off on its own, and the bathroom fan was extremely annoying. Other than that I loved my stay so much I have booked the motel twice more for future visits to the capital. It's in a very accessible area, anything you need is a very close proximity. The muffins in the lobby in the morning are moist and fluffy. It's homey and quaint. Felt almost like I was cottaging, but inside the city. I can't say enough amazing things about this place. I cannot wait for my next visit! See you soon, and thank you for the incredible hospitality.

We had stayed at this hotel once before in July 2019. I was a lovely room, with charm. It had great bedding, soft robes, good water pressure and was CLEAN and modern, though the front desk was understaffed when we checked in and departed, which was annoying but for the value of the room, it was bearable. I do not know what happened to this place in 3 years but the room was tired and charmless and the service was appalling. We had a confirmed reservation and we had to line up for 30 minutes while people in front of us checked in at 6 pm with only ONE staff to do all the work. He was asking for information to be written on a form - THESE THINGS were done before we arrived! Why make us do it again? The room was drab and the carpet dirty; the water pressure and temperature in the shower were all over the place. There were no robes until my partner asked for them. The parking costing extra for what amounted to a $300 room was offensive. This was an overpriced 2 star hotel and VERY POOR value for the money. We will not be giving The Arc a third chance; we are never staying here again.

The location is too convenient, convenient for travel, viewing, and more than 10 minutes walk to important attractions such as the Capitol. The city of Ottawa is small and there are not many tourist attractions. We stayed at noon and played all the sights in the afternoon. The hotel is in the city center, but it is difficult to eat Chinese food. It takes about 70 yuan to get a Chinese hot pot. It is a resilience---Liu Yishou, the hotel is good, clean and tidy, the service attitude is very good, it is obviously I showed the prepaid order, but the hotel still deducted the entire night's room rate of 3084RMB, saying that it did not receive Ctrip's transfer. It caused me a lot of trouble. I made an international call to and from the airport several times. Ctrip promised to solve the problem before leaving the store. When I finally left the store, I still didn't receive the payment from Ctrip, so I insisted on deducting my money and I was very dissatisfied. The hotel's parking fee is still quite expensive, 28.34 knives, about 150RMB.

Very good hotel. The front desk was very warm and the parking lot location instructions were clear.

I'll start with the pros, because it's a quick short list: -good central location in the city close to Parliament, Spark Street, tourist areas -size and style of the room (I booked a two bedroom suite). Basically it was like renting an apartment complete with kitchen, laundry, living room, etc. Everything else, not so good: -no valet service, and no place to park your car on the street upon arriving other than their underground garage. They advertise themselves as, and I quote from their website, a ”world-class hotel”. This is so far from the truth it's laughable. At their price point and marketing claims, I was shocked when I drove up in my car full of luggage to learn there was no parking attendant, valet, or bellboy service. I ended up needing to park in their tight underground garage and haul all of my family's luggage myself. I asked for a luggage trolley and they couldn't locate it quickly so I didn't bother waiting and played the part of a bell boy lifting and dragging luggage on my very own vacation at a so-called ”world-class hotel”. But wait, there's more! - Next morning me and my family wake up only to discover we cannot take a morning shower because THERE WAS NO HOT WATER! I have never, in my entire life as a traveler, encountered such an issue at any hotel or motel, regardless of price point. I had to quickly torture myself by washing my hair in cold water in order to be presentable enough to go downstairs to the reception desk and try to get things addressed. Ultimately, I come to discover through discussion with the receptionist and the maintenance worker that this was a known issue for the entire building. Specifically, the building is supposed to be ”certified” for some sort of energy efficiency and part of that is that the water flow rate of the faucets is restricted. This means that, unless the room's water pipes have regular flow of hot water, and thus a ”supply at the ready” then it will take very long for them to ”fill up” with hot water. The worker showed me a ”trick” to turn on the bath tub's faucet full strength as it's flow is less restricted, only then would other showers or sinks eventually get hot water after 5-7 minutes or so. He did so and assured me that for the remainder of my multi-day stay it would no longer be an issue. However, this was not true and it turned out that every day I needed to perform the same workaround in order to get hot water. Oh and the wifi internet didn't work on the first day for some reason. -Other things you might normally expect at a hotel that were absent: no restaurant, breakfast or food services. No daily room service. No door man. Only a skeleton crew of employees. Be very careful and mindful before booking a stay here in order to know what to expect. Some of this information can be gleaned if you carefully review their website beforehand, some not really. They definitely market an image and craft an impression of being similar to other s

The hotel environment is good, super close to the airport, partners without a car can also take the hotel shuttle to and from the airport, very convenient. There is a super pretty yellow beauty at the front desk, haha
