I booked via Hotels.com and deliberately chose the cheaper option of a room with no window as this is not a problem for me. I have stayed in similar room setups previously. The first thing I didn't like was, within minutes of booking, I received an email from the hotel trying to sell up - suggesting a better room, early check in/late check out etc. At no time was the need for photo ID mentioned. Check in was fairly quick and easy. I was asked for photo ID (odd - never been asked before in a UK hotel), which I didn't have. I was allowed to check in anyway and was not asked to show the card I had used to book. The receptionist was pleasant enough. The room was okay - clean and with the layout as expected and shown in photos. There was no kettle and not even a tooth mug or cup to drink out of. There was a large TV on the wall at the end of the bed, but it had the most frustrating system for finding channels - you couldn't just press the number but had to trawl through the list every time. The bed, however, was really comfortable and this is why I have given two stars rather than one. The wet room was okay, but the shower, which was fixed, sent water everywhere and the basin was too low and too shallow so when you turned on the tap water splashed out. I could hear the TV from the room next door through the wall, which was quite annoying. The light and heating system were odd - took a few tries to get it right. The location of the hotel is quite a long walk from any transport, which isn't great with heavy bags. There are lots of restaurants around but they are all very expensive and the hotel offers no facilities. Overall this was a disappointing stay and I would not book this hotel again.

We stayed here for our anniversary and what a stunning room we had! I loved all the small details added to the room and the bathroom was lovely. I was amazed at the interior of this hotel, it really is stunning! The owner of the hotel is extremely friendly, as are all the staff. We were warmly welcomed into the hotel which was lovely. The hotel is just a short walk into the city centre - we walked down and got an Uber back because it was extremely cold (an Uber from the city centre only cost us £4.50). Breakfast was also included in our hotel stay and this was lovely. They give you a huge choice of what you can have and you can order as much as you like! The breakfast was lovely, gorgeous poached eggs and sausages! We really loved this hotel and will definitely be visiting again!

Do not use booking.com to book this hotel unless you want your money taken and no one to ever give you a refund. I had two rooms booked for 16-17th April 2022 but had to cancel them on the 4th as we couldn’t make the booking. This was well within the free cancellation date given but the money was still taken out of my account by the hotel on the date of the booking. I contacted booking.com about this and was told they would contact the hotel and ask for me to be refunded. I was eventually refunded for one room but am still waiting for the other. I contacted booking.com and according to the hotel (Hampton by Hilton Birmingham Jewellery Quarter), there was an error in their system (even though they managed to refund one room already) and that I would be refunded within a week. On the 9th May, I still had no refund so contacted booking.com who told me that they had given the hotel 24 hours to prove they had refunded me and that they would contact me after that time if there had still be no refund so that the issue could be transferred to the finance team who would refund me. They didn’t contact me, so I rang again and was asked to prove that the money had been taken out of my account, which I did. Then on the 16th May I was told the refund would be shown in my account in 7-12 working days, which shock, it isn’t, and to contact the hotel if I still hadn’t been refunded. Calling the hotel took me to an operator at the other side of the world and they told me they couldn’t help because it was 3am for them. I called booking.com again today and was told I needed to wait another 15 days but they couldn’t actually give me a proper reason as to why. It is apparently their ‘procedure’ despite them telling me multiple times that they would refund me in x number of days (the days seemed to increase depending on who I spoke to on the day). It’s been eight weeks since this money was taken out and I still haven’t got it sorted despite talking to five different people. I won’t be using booking.com or this hotel again and I urge others not to use them or their ‘free cancellation’ service.

Four people suggested that they should go to the upper store, and it would be really uncomfortable to sleep on the wide bunk. Soundproofing Super Garbage No headphones really can't sleep. I lived for four days and two days and almost insomnia. There was a bell ringing for ten minutes at three o'clock in the middle of the night. On the last morning, the Italian woman kept talking about it at 3 o'clock in the evening. There is no lockable cabinet and the bathroom has shampoo.

Good location in city center. Comfortable beds, quiet and an effective air-con ensured a good nights sleep during the heat wave. Staff were charming, helpful, thoughtful, knowledgeable and sensible. Excellent car parking, pay at the hotel checkout, very reasonably priced too. Check out at midday enabled and cool departure. We were very pleased with our stay and most certainly shall return and recommend it to our friends. Thank you.

Having stayed at this hotel a number of times this places never ceases to impress me, we usually stay when we’re in Birmingham for a theatre trip so on this occasion we booked after booking to watch We will rock you, now that’s worth watching. This hotel has first class service our room being available when arrived to bay drop at 11am so that was great and our room was a deluxe room and wow what a great room, immaculately clean, room 503 more like a suite, with amazing views overlooking Colmore row and directly onto Birmingham Cathedral, given how warm it was having the air conditioning was a blessing and the double glazing great to keep the room really very quiet, only one sticking point after eating out we returned to sit in the lounge bar to be seated quite quickly it was a little busy but then no one came to ask for our drink order, although we watched people who had entered after us get seated served and drinking, we decided to leave as the cocktail menu didn’t mention Mojitos anyway so we popped over the road to another bar. Other than that Live this hotel and would stay again as I’m sure we will.

The hotel is located in the south of Birmingham, with convenient life and many supermarkets and restaurants. Newer, because there are family rooms, breakfast included, affordable, I chose here. However, because the hotel allows pets and many black guests bring dogs, the hotel rooms have a smell. Thank you Ctrip for always being around, and everything is resolved immediately.

Birmingham Marriott Hotel is in a good location from the train station and it is 8 pounds 💷 there is a big supermarket hotel near the hotel. The service is very good. I don't know English. I use the translator to tell the front desk staff that they are very patient. The help of my hotel is very clean. The price of the hotel in Ctrip is not expensive. We have four rooms in one room. The two big beds have been lived several times. It is very satisfying and worth recommending to everyone.

Myself and my partner booked this hotel as part of our anniversary, as we were having a splurge for our meal out. We chose the Pentahotel for location and price. The hotel was positioned conveniently near the O2 academy and one of the main roundabouts in Birmingham. When we entered, we were greeted by the staff behind the bar who then checked us in. We were given our key and directed on where to go to access the room. The room had all the basic necessities and was clean and safe. It was quite spacious, allowing us all the room we need. The entire hotel had a vintage and rustic vibe, from the rotary telephone to the lighting options. We had a good night sleep and I would say it is good value for money!

The decoration style of the Crowne Plaza Hotel is consistent. Since we are going to the exhibition, we are very close to the nec exhibition center and it takes 10 minutes to walk. Next door is Birmingham Airport. Basically, people who come here for business are not interested in any sights. There is a large party bar on the first floor of the hotel. You can also order some food. The breakfast is on the ground floor. There are not as many choices as domestic ones. They are more English style. What scrambled eggs, poached eggs, fried eggs. Very good hotel, clean, cost-effective and safe. I studied abroad in Birmingham ten years ago so I know this location is very convenient. Downstairs is Chinatown. Within 10 minutes walk to the train station bullring shopping! highly recommended! Although the hotel faces the street, the glass is double-glazed, and even the toilets are sound-proofed! It is in a busy club area but on the 8th floor we couldn't hear noise from the clubs however at 03:00 am someone was kicking on a door shouting and swearing, he stopped but started again 30 minutes later at this point I had to call security and although we didn't hear anything else we didn't sleep. Booked to stay the night before our flight out of Birmingham airport, 2 rooms and managed to get them on the highest floor on the same corridor. Arrived late, but got a space in the car park, which is free of charge, checked in and had a few drinks in the bar area, at the back of reception. The guy on reception who checked us in was extremely helpful, offering to provide more tea and coffee, etc given that we'd arrived so late and had a long journey. Rooms were clean and tidy. We found the shower pressure to be quite decent, given we were on the 10th floor and piping hot! The only complaint, if you could call it that, is that as we were about to leave, we had to be hurried out of the building due to the fire alarm going off so lifts were out of order and we have to use the staircase, but at least it was down (and there wasn't a fire thankfully). Staff were quick to respond, very apologetic as it was raining but beyond their control, safety comes first!

The room is small, the bathroom is small, the washbasin is the size of two lunch boxes, and the ground that will be washed will be all water! The bed is small and narrow, it seems to be about 1.3 meters, poor husband 1 meter eight people. . . However, it seems that Europe is such a room, so I don't say anything! Hotel breakfast tastes good! Baked bread is super delicious! Classic British breakfast variety, service is still very good!

Was taken for Sunday lunch here on Mothering Sunday. My previous experience here ended very badly however the food was good. Unfortunately things have changed for the worse. It took about 20 minutes for our order to be taken. The Old Crown call them self ”Your community pub” a double gin and splash of coke cost £7.30! Not a community price in my opinion. Ordered wings for the starter £7.50 a portion, they were just ok. Considering the pub was not busy it took about 35 minutes for the mains to come out. I was very disappointed at the taste, quality and portion size. The gravy was very thin and oily. The Yorkshire pudding was burnt, the veg was very oily. The Sunday roast here is no longer nice. After the very disappointing meal we had to go over to the bar to ask for the bill. A member of staff came over very quickly for payment! We were asked nothing about our experience or if we had enjoyed our meals. Poor service, disappointing food and over priced.

Disgusting. We checked in, walked into the room and I was hit by a disgusting smell mixed with a really strong air freshener. They had clearly tried and failed to disguise the smell with a spray instead of tackling the source of the smell. The window was open but it didn’t improve and the bathroom stunk too. It was over whelming. We had planned a take-away but we had to get out of the smelly room as we couldn’t stand to stay in it. We had 2 interconnecting rooms (access and normal). The access one has a roll in shower, bars on both sides of the toilet and a pull cord by both the toilet and the bed which gets the room a star! The beds were broken! The bed is the disabled room dips and is going home but was ok. The bed in the other room was completely broken, it led to no sleep at all. How this (apparently) had never been reported before I don’t know. Completely broken, noisy and uncomfortable. Tried sleeping on the sofa but the springs in that had gone and squeaked like anything and was uncomfortable! Literally no sleep and physical pain for all of us. As for the smell. Sadly for us we’re stuck here for 48 hours. After 24 hours the room still stank and we realised it was the bedside chair that stank of musty strong urine. Why didn’t house keeping try to locate the smell instead of just spraying sprays? Or why put us in this room? The room still smells despite the item being removed. The hotel is full so we are stuck here with the smell in this room and the broken bed in the other room. £375 we’ve paid to be here. The smell made me feel really unwell and was very over whelming. The bathroom in the disabled room smells too. Check out tomorrow is at 12. I would normally think that’s an amazing perk for a hotel but can’t wait to get out of here. I’ve stayed in Premier Inn’s before and always found them clean and comfortable but this has really put me off. The hotel is full and I’m not sure if this is their only access room. They said they can’t move us and didn’t offer us a different bed nor a transfer. Having to cope with the smell and broken beds The only positives- a good location for the NEC and Steve on reception is really lovely.

Overview: we were looking for a cheap overnight budget stay and this pub looked perfect! After our stay, we thought it was okay for the price but definitely don’t rely on the car park and, it wasn’t mentioned on their website, but the kitchen is currently closed apart from 4 to 5 dishes (that we thought were more suited to lunch than dinner). More info below… For £35, the room was pretty good - furniture and bathroom were basic but for the price, you can’t go wrong! Tea and coffee was in the room as were little bathroom wash items (hair and body wash and hand soap, which we thought was a very nice touch for the price. There is a coded door that allows you access to the hotel part of the building after hours so access was no problem, even after the pub itself closed. Sadly, the most disappointing thing was that parking was advertised as available, and whilst a car park was available, it was full with very little movement. With roughly 10 spaces, they were all full on arrival and so we had to pay an extra £4.50 for four hours on the street (which is only payable by the RingGo app or via telephone). Now, this wouldn’t inherently be a problem but you can only stay a maximum of 4 hours between 08:00 and 18:00 before then having to move the car and not return within an hour. Check in was 14:00 for us so paying for four hours was fine but it just meant we had to get up earlier than we would have liked to move the car. Around 19:00ish, we went out for dinner and came back just as a car was leaving the car park so did manage to get a space in the car park but, all we’d say is definitely don’t rely on a car parking space being available. Secondly, if you’re doing diligent research, you’ll note a fairly standard pub menu on their website. After an extremely hot day, after we were feeling more than exhausted, we came down for a quiet dinner only to find that the kitchen was closed and a chalk board offering 4 to 5 dishes was available, that we both felt were suited to a lunch time meal, rather than dinner (just our opinion though). So, rather annoyingly, we then had to go out and find a restaurant to eat at.

One minute away from the train station, there is no need to drag luggage to find the hotel, and the location is super convenient. There are several Chinese restaurants downstairs, and you can walk to Chinatown within five minutes on foot. There is a large shopping mall opposite, and it is very convenient to go anywhere in the city center.
