Hotel location is good, see the Temple of Zeus, the front desk lady service is warm. We have a reasonable price upgrade to a large suite with a balcony with a kitchen sink and a separate hand washing bathroom. We bought a gift at the gift shop downstairs and also called the front desk into the room. The picture video was taken, but unfortunately transferred to the hard disk. We are two big and one small, the children live in the living room, the living room is very big. The layout is reasonable. Breakfast is delivered to the room, and the front desk downstairs is checked in advance.

The Home and Poetry hotel is brilliantly located, in the Plaka, very easy walking distance from almost anything you could want to do in Athens. Within a 10 minute walk was the Acropolis of Athens, but also many restaurants, shopping, the Agora, Hadrian’s Arch, Syntagma square, to name just a few of the local sites. The hotel itself is replete in charm. Very reasonably priced, our room was very spacious and tastefully decorated. An in room wall mounted air conditioning unit made sure we were always comfortable, without being disruptively loud(like hotel air conditioning units sometimes tend to be). The bathroom was on the small side, yet completely adequate. The staff were very friendly, very helpful. The hotel has that boutique charm, which means that parts of it are not super crowd friendly. For example the entrance. But they met us at the door, immediately whisked away our luggage and brought it to the room while we got checked in. The service was impeccable in every way. Breakfast served on the terrace, with a view of the Acropolis of Athens, was very nice. Greek options, and more “American” options including a cook to make you French toast, eggs, and some breakfast meats. We stayed on the third floor, in a room called Papa…. (Can’t remember the spelling, but every room is named after a Greek poet). The room sits directly beneath the outdoor terrace, and so in the morning you could hear chairs scraping as people settle in for breakfast. We tended to be up already, so this was not an issue. If you tend to sleep past 8am, you might request a room other than that one. There is an elevator, although we never used it. What can I say, we absolutely loved our weekend at Home and Poetry.

It’s all about the location here. Minutes from the Acropolis and easy walking to other main attractions and tube station to go further afield. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Lovely rooftop views over to the Acropolis. Accommodation is simple. Good for a short, busy tourist stay. Hotel is in a quiet side street. Nice quirky style. Our room was a decent size but bathroom was very tiny. Small balcony. Nice for a breather. Breakfast made a welcome start to the day but was quite a plain continental selection which didn’t vary much. This could be improved but I’d take location over a better breakfast. I’d give the location 5 stars but the accommodation is 3 at best. I can understand anyone saying it’s 2* and other saying a clear 3* as I understand there may some variety in rooms, so I’ve averaged it out. If you’re after the location to see the sights you’ll like this. If you are fussy about breakfast or want more in your room, you’d need to pay more.

Location Excellent for reaching all the main sites. You can walk to the base of the Acropolis in around 10 mins and all the highlights are within a 30 min walk. Outside the door are a number of cafes/restaurants that are open from 8am for breakfast until late at night. You definitely won’t want to rent a car as the streets are tiny and hard to navigate even for experienced taxi drivers! If you want dropping off, it is easier ask taxis to take you to the temple of Zeus as this is on the main road and you can walk through the side streets for 3 mins to get to the hotel. The surrounding streets are filled with every restaurant, cafe, ice cream shop and souvenir shop you could possibly want. Check in and out We arranged an airport transfer in advance with the hotel for €38.50 and would really advise doing this as the driver met us in Arrivals and the hotel staff met us on the side road and brought us and our luggage to the main door as cars can’t drive down the streets immediately surrounding the hotel. The man on reception was very helpful and gave us a map. We asked for a taxi to be booked to our next destination and this was arranged for us easily and the whole process was very quick. The hotel was extremely quick to respond to emails I sent. Hotel You have a small kitchen upstairs, but this did not seem to contain anything other than tea to drink. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery if you wanted to buy food and eat it there. They have made an effort to make the entrance and stairs pretty and welcoming. The outside is also very attractive. This is not a hotel suited to those with mobility issues as the rooms are accessed up some twisty internal steps. It wasn’t too noisy at night, with only a little noise from the restaurants, but you do get some noise from street buskers and other people opening and closing doors. Room The room is very spacious for a city centre room and had all the expected amenities. There is a safe, but it is very small. The bed was very comfortable with thick pillows. The decor is tasteful if perhaps a little plain. We felt very at home in the room. The main thing we would suggest improving is that both the room door and toilet door were very stiff and required slamming to close and noise carries quite a bit there as the doors have frosted glass panels. The room was cleaned daily. We had a city view room that looked out over the square. Bathroom There is a hairdryer and nice toiletries provided in the bathroom. The only thing missing was liquid soap as they provide bars instead so bring your own if your prefer it. There was a walk in shower and no bath. We would return if we wanted another city break in Athens.

The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable. The rooms are very quiet and even though they are shared, very intimate as each bed has a garden, night light and a pump. Breakfast with various options, healthy, all rich and very good price. I emphasise the friendliness and solidarity of Mariano reception, who made himself available to guide me and help me in how to manage me in the city (public transport, interesting tourist sites, etc,), I was my first time in Athens and I didn't know anything. Set two Acropolis exquisite suite 6900 yuan. As a result, we started to give us room 235 is a garden view. We disagreed. Mr. Bang, our baggage handler, called the reception desk, took us to room 335 or garden view, to the small balcony to turn to the right to see the Acropolis. I feel that I spent the wrong money, and the price of Booking is cheaper than Trip.com, and it is too late to find out after booking. Hotel location is very good, easy access to the surrounding attractions can be walked. Breakfast on the eighth floor facing the Acropolis is first-class. There are not many choices for breakfast. The room is old and soundproofed. The speech next door is like in our room. The bed and quilt are so comfortable to sleep! The front desk service was cold, and the receptionist at the door was very rude and didn't respond to greeting him. Except for the beautiful view of the restaurant on the eighth floor and the hotel in the city center, the other basics do not meet the five-star Palace level.

I give a high value to the fact of having kitchen to cook as if at home. So the Apartment counts with this. The kitchen is rather well equipped. I would add some mat to protect the table (in my case i carried one with me just in case) . The refrigerator is big, there Is coffee machine, electric boiler , stove, oven, enough plates, glasses, etc. I asked for spounge and dish detergent cause as i cook my dinner i like of course to clean the dishes by myself, and the personal at the front desk provided it for me. The bed room had a Security box , which is a positive Point. The living room is rather comfortable. The personal at the front desk is very kind , Nicos helped me to find a place to Repair my luggagge which had arrived broken; Vangelis helped with the resetting of the wi fi at some opportuniy ; then there is Penny and two more functionaries (a man and a woman - Sorry that i don t remember their names now, but all very kind people, they received an order i had posted by internet and they gave it to me as i came back after going around all day). The cleaning personal is very kind too, and they do their work well, all is clean. The location is very suitable , 5 minutes walking from Metro Station Evangelysmus, so one can arrive directly from the airport by the blue Line in 30 or 40 minutes (dont remember the exact time ). There are some museums close to the Apart Hotel too, but i ve left them for my next visit. Lively places like Syntagma Square and Monastiraki , Acropole Museum , are all at one or 2 Metro Stations or even one can Walk 30 minutes. There is an excellent supermarket (Bazaar) at 5 minutes walking , one can find there all that one needs. The hotel offers breakfast paying a supplement, but i can t comment on that, cause i ve chosen to cook my breakfast at the Apartment , as if i were at home. Summarizing , i think this is a nice and convenient place to stay in Athens, which i was fortunate to find being it my first visit to Greece!

Hotel-style apartments at this price are more cost-effective. First, the location is better, very close to Syntagma Square, one street away from the main street, quiet in the noisy, and the security of the entire area is better; second, the rooms are relatively new and furnished Also very thoughtful, everything for daily necessities (kitchen dishes, washing machines, drying racks, etc.), a bottle of water and a little fruit are provided for free upon check-in. It’s just that the lady boss at the front desk has been answering the phone and answering the phone. The whole thing is very good.

      Victoria
We chose this place to avoid very central Athens prices and be close to a Metro (Victoria). Good choice. Adaptions for Covid reduce breakfast to a box plus coffee and juice, but was quite good. We were upgraded with our room, which was nice, though the jacuzzi and shower didn’t work properly due to poor water flow. Comfortable beds and good lighting. No English TV. Weak WiFi on the top floor. Reception is only staffed until 5pm so the hotel works with code numbers for the outside door and with emergency key safes for each room just in case you lose the key. Oddly no safes in rooms but it all felt secure. Friendly reception staff.

The apartment is certainly very clean and wide. nice staff. Unfortunately, not everything was like that. Payment was requested at our arrival. It is not always practical to pay at the arrival since anyway the payment is secured by Booking. However acceptable even if unusual. We had reserved a apartment with a double bed and a bed sofa. The bed sofa. On the bed sofa there was a 3 cm thick madrassa (see photos). You can imagine how sleepy!! He asked the man to try to sit, so he realized that you could not sleep on a sofa like that, he answered me that a sofa bed is not as comfortable as a bed. I am more than aware that a bed sofa is not a comfortable bed but with such a mattress was impossible to sleep! So it was better not to offer it for nothing so one choose another! It was like sleeping naked and cruel! The satellite channels did not take it. After a giant attempt to search for them, he left the telecommand in our hand saying it was fixed. ( yet they do not take it anyway). The room temperature was centrally controlled. The person always tried to lower but he was still on 26 degrees. We finally asked if he could turn it off completely. The rest, as said, perfect position

I took the last room available, a single room, and was not looking forward to a small room but very pleasantly surprised. The room was compact but very nicely furnished. These rooms have been modernised recently and was absolutely perfect for my needs for a one-night stay in Athens. Excellent shower and air conditioning. I slept very well, the only negative comment would be that I was woken very early by the noise of staff getting breakfast ready. The hotel is quietly situated in a side street very close to the Acropolis entrance and just a short walk down the hill from the city centre tour bus drop off. It's also just a few minutes walk from the Acropolis metro stop. The roof terrace has beautiful views and you can buy a drink from the downstairs bar and take it up to the roof. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend Acropolis View Hotel for single travellers.

The location of the hotel is very convenient on the most lively streets throughout the night, but the noise is not big. Four people chose the No. 9 room, which has three floors. It can eat small snacks and drink small wines in the panoramic private balcony at night, overlooking Athens. The lights in the Acropolis are really very comfortable.

Pros: nice hotel, clean, great location where you can walk around to almost everywhere in the centre of Athens. Cons: they did not tell us that the breakfast comes in a box, so its cold eggs for breakfast everyday. We stayed for few days, and got a room in 2nd floor right by a local coffee shop/pub located at the back alley, loud music and people chatting everyday until 1-2 am! and one time, the reception think its a need to do a random check on me asking what is my room number when i came back from a walk even though i tapped with my room card to get in the main entrance. felt like i was trespassing.

Nice hotel with lots of Chinese elements, terracotta warriors and some old furniture. The hotel is the tallest building in the entire block. Layered renovation, the taste of high-floor decoration is still relatively large. Don't take the taxi waiting for a seat at the entrance of the hotel, it will charge more, and I also encountered the extremely unreasonable driver in the picture below! There is a charge for the hotel's underground car park. The breakfast is very general, I have been staying for almost two weeks, the breakfast is the same every day, there is no change!

This hotel was a good value with a very friendly staff. Be sure to request a higher floor room ending in 02 for a great view of the Parthenon! Being recently renovated, we were very pleased with our room. The air conditioning cooled well, without requiring a room card being inserted. The area around the hotel left a little to be desired. This hotel is located right next door to a sister hotel - The Athenaeum Palace. Syngrou is a busy street without much commercial shopping or stores. There was a little convenience store hut about 40 yards away, and a decent little Italian and a Greek restaurant about 150 yards away. While there appeared to be a bus stop and an underground street crossing in front of the hotel, we did not use it. A taxi to the Plaka was about 6 euros without traffic and 12 euros with traffic. Breakfast was nice with a full continental option, as well as scrambled eggs and cooked bacon/ ham. The hotel has a powerful hair dryer. The lobby has a ramp, but a handrail for the stairs to the breakfast area for folks with accessibility needs.

When I was younger, I spent two weeks in Greece to visit various places on the Peloponnese peninsula, but up until this year, I had never been to Athens before. I am someone who likes to explore places, and I often do not have day by day plans - but the one thing that is always important for me is a good base, a place to come back to in the late afternoon or evening to relax. I generally am not into nightlife, so I usually spend evenings in my accommodation - so I try to make sure to book a good place. I was tempted to go for a cheaper option, but after the last few years and all the stress, I decided to treat myself. Why earn all that money if I don’t use it right? I spent nine days in the Academias Hotel in Athens. I chose it because the location seemed ideal on a map. Fortunately, the reality also was not a disappointment. I visited the Acropolis a couple of times. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk there, but I also saw that there are bus connections if you do not like to walk (I LOVE walking, because you also get to see more of the places and can sometimes come across interesting shops, parks, etc.). I could go on about places that are within easy reach, but you’re probably more interested in the hotel itself! The check-in was easy and I felt very welcome. There wasn’t a grumpy staff member in sight (hotel staff in certain places in the UK could learn from that friendliness!). I tried to impress with my few sentences of Greek that I learned, but fortunately, staff in this hotel has no problem with other languages. Not once during my stay did I have an issue with staff. They were all polite and respectful. The big plus for me also was that they did not annoy me. Friendly yes, but they did not make me feel harassed like it can happen in other hotels. While I did obviously check out photos of the hotel in advance before I booked, I was pleasantly surprised by my room (I booked a room with a king-sized bed). Everything was very clean, and there were BOOKS on the shelves. That was really a nice touch, I think. The bathroom was HUGE, and let me tell you: the showers are awesome. You’ll really appreciate a good shower after an active day in Athens, especially in summer! It was lovely! The room was nice and I had lots of space. The writing desk was perfect because I’m a writer and always in need of such a space! There was even a nice little coffee machine. Of course, also the usual stuff like a TV (with Netflix access!), shampoos, all the stuff you’d expect from a high quality hotel. The hotel has a lot to offer in addition to your actual room. There is a gym (I didn’t use that, I didn’t go on holiday to work out) and also a spa if you are into that. Worth a mention is the food as well. There’s a great restaurant with excellent views - and the food is just as excellent, which makes this a wonderful eating experience. Breakfast was also excellent, I really can’t complain. If you feel like trying something else, there are also plenty of restau

We only stayed for one night as we were looking for a hotel not in the centre of Athens but within easy reach of shops and restaurants (and Chalandri fits the bill perfectly). We arrived early evening and the hotel wasn’t busy and the receptionist helped us immediately. Check in was quick and efficient and we were told all the important things we needed to know about the hotel. The foyer is quite nice and spacious, breakfast would be served there also but I needed to leave early and didn’t have time to sample the breakfast. Our room was on the third floor, and the room was extremely clean and comfortable. The beds were particularly comfortable and the room had just about enough space considering we had many luggages. Linen was of a good quality and extremely clean. The bathroom was a little dated however the pressure of the shower was very good with plenty of hot water and had basic amenities. Overall we had a good stay, the hotel does need some modernising to bring it up to more modern standards but the hotel was perfectly serviceable, clean and well organised.

I stayed here for whole 3 weeks and it was great stay. Its very near, oddly 200 m, to Larissa station on red metro line. The good things go first. - Friendly staff. - Good house keeping. - Delicious breakfast. - Nice amenities But for long stay, I felt the room was bit clumsy and even the shower cabin is too small. Me being vegetarian, always carry some ready to eat instant foods which needs heating in microwave. But unfortunately they did not have microwave in their kitchen at least.I got to use the electric kettle available at the dining area. If they offer electric kettle for using in the rooms(at least I need one for making my morning/evening tea/soup) and provide a microwave for the guest's use in dining area would be great. The stay was decent and comfortable. Laundry service is not available and will be nice if that is made available.

We needed a place to stay for our family of 8 before getting to Athens airport so we booked online 2 rooms. 1 of the room was renovated but the other one looked Iike I was back in 1980. There were 2 bedrooms with space for 5 to sleep. 1 and 1/2 bath. Shower was clean and modern but everything else was old and outdated. There was a huge terrace but unable to open doors in the 2 bedrooms. Very noisy street but the AC noise covers the sounds. The view on the water is nice and there were chairs to sit on the patio. There was a good romantic restaurant walking distance. The neighborhood is not very exciting but appeared safe. The front desk employees were extremely nice and there was an elevator and a clean stairway opened to walk upstairs. I will definitely not return. Thankfully I only spent a few hours there. The place was actually clean with no insects or cockroaches which we had in the hotel we stayed the night before.

The hosts Julius and Olga are super friendly and helpful. Our rm had a great bed. The small kitchenette was well equipped including plenty of coffee pods for the Nespresso machine. The body shower was a real treat after a day of travel and then shopping. Even though the area is quite busy including night life the room was very quite It’s only steps from the the Ancient Agora area, a must see. A few steps further and your at the Acropolis. The roof top patio is comfortable with absolutely stunning views. In addition to being surrounded by great eating it has the most fun shopping in Greece being steps away from the Monastiraki flea market. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and encourage you to check it out, you won’t regret it. Did I mention the 5 star location and fantastic hosts….

When I slept in the morning, I woke up naturally, and when I blinked, I found that there was a large balcony outside the French window. Stayed late at night last night, sleepy and sleepy, did not carefully look at the room structure. The son looked at the fire exit map on the wall and told me that we lived in the largest room in the hotel. If so. So happy. The breakfast ended at ten o'clock, and the time rushed to the restaurant, which was amazing. Bright and spacious, the walls are decorated with Greek reliefs and portraits. The taste of the food is also very good, in addition to the watermelons and melons provided in each restaurant, there is a whole set of complete fruit collection. The younger son chose a peach and was satisfied. [snicker] [smirking] [smirking]

Receptionist Kostas and his colleagues were so friendly and helpful. They even let me leave my luggage in their store for the afternoon (after I'd checked out ) so I could visit the Benaki Museum before getting my flight in the evening. The whole place has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The place is very clean, including my room - and surprisingly quiet inside, in spite of the roaring traffic in the street outside. I slept very well, and also enjoyed the very abundant and delicious breakfasts. (Plenty of fruit, protein ...) The place is central - right near the Akropolis, and within walking distance of the Metro. So from here you can go anywhere in Athens. This hotel was a really good choice, and I'd recommend it to anyone. I'm going back to Athens this autumn, and will stay there again.

Stayed twice within a week while transiting through Athens. Staff very helpful and chatty. The room facing the Acropolis was great. Very clean and well presented. Our earlier stay in another room windowed onto a central atrium and until I complained about the noise staff were making at 02:15 we couldn’t sleep. They accepted this with grace. Very central. Highly recommended.

The location is at the foot of the Acropolis. It is located in the old town. There are many Mediterranean-style alleys. The environment is beautiful, very quiet, and it is very convenient to eat and visit. On the platform of the hotel, you can see the temples of the Acropolis. There is also a swimming pool in the hotel.

This hotel is very good and the location is good. It is the best hotel to stay in this trip. The only downside is that breakfast is not available, but on the last day of the stay, the store surprises us and offers breakfast for free, great! !

18 Micon is a cool and stylish hotel, located in an avant-garde, stylish area, just not very fond of graffiti near the hotel. The room was very clean, the balcony was light enough for 10 minutes, and the view was very open, very comfortable. The hotel staff is great, the service is good, the breakfast is delicious! The favorite is the breakfast cabinet in the hotel lobby, which will provide all-day sweets and desserts, great value for money! The girlfriend is very satisfied, will go again next time.. .

The hotel location is great, very close to the Acropolis and Syntagma Square. Very good vacation option. Breakfast was also very rich. The room with balcony on the 6th floor has a good view. You can also go to the landscape restaurant on the roof and enjoy the Acropolis while drinking tea.

I checked into my room and found the room pretty nice and spacious. The only problem is that my room is located at the very corner, so it’s by a noisy bar and street at the same time. There is loud rock music playing all day long. It was 4pm and I asked the lady at the reception if I can change to some other rooms that’s a bit far away from the noisy bar. The lady impolitely told me all rooms have been checked in (it was at 4 pm so I doubted this). I said it was too noisy that I think I couldn’t fall asleep at night. The lady suddenly became super aggressive and shouted “Lady, I told you there is no other room and myself has slept in that room and it didn’t bother me to the slightest. The room is in the city so it SHOULD be noisy“. Honestly I was quite amused and shocked by her attitude and I said “I don’t care if it bothers you or not. If it bothers me, it bothers me. Cuz I am the hotel guest, not you. If your attitude is like this, I might have to write you an honest review online”. Then the lady was thoroughly irritated and couldn’t control her temper at all. She shouted at me hysterically that “you are threatening me!!! You are SOOO RUDE!! I don’t care if you write a review or not, go ahead!!!” and threatened to cancel my room and kick me out. I couldn’t be more shocked by this woman’s such unprofessional and psycho way of treating a hotel guest. There was also no “manager” in the hotel who could stand out to help me. Fortunately my travel agency helped me to find another room nearby. It’s also in the city but literally very quiet and has good service and definite not like the awful awful experience Royalty Hotel Athens had offered. I really hope every traveler can avoid such unpleasant experience at their stay and such hotel such be boycotted. If I were the owner of the hotel and saw this woman treat the guest like this, the second minute, the woman loses her job. Still awaiting an apology from Royalty Hotel Athens!!

When we booked this hotel, we were told that we were unable to stay in another Plaka Hotel due to technical problems. It was roughly a group. The hotel called taxis for free, although the road was very close. Stay at the Plaka Hotel and get a brochure with a travel map guide. However, the room was very small and the air conditioner and exhaust fan were noisy. Accessories only hanger towel shampoo shower gel hair dryer. The location is a little next to the women's street, but far from the famous street. After two days of strolling, I feel that if I want to shop, the NJV hotel is better and the price is good.

The location of the hotel is great, it's on the pedestrian street, and it's super close to every attraction. The decoration style of the room is great, spacious enough! A big bed and a sofa can be used as a bed, so it won’t be crowded if four people live

We visited Athene for a weekend and stayed one night in PAME Paradiso. Very friendly people and good clean rooms. We had a suite on the 5th floor which was not expensive at all. Due to the late check-in which was possible the hotel arranged transportation from the Airport to the hotel and was very well organized. The owner makes use of whats app which is very convenient when your still travelling. In the morning check-out was fast and good. Also the got loads of good tips from the owner what to visit so that really helped us. We really recommend this hotel as its also around the corner of the city center!
