Beautiful hotel with perfect view of a cathedral from our twin room. Hotel is in a historic building with lovely architectural features by the canal and the room we were in was a cleverly designed ”duplex” with the bathroom and sinks on the upper floor (ie loft) which made full use of the almost double volume ceiling in the smallish twin room we were in. The only drawback was that the steps were narrow and steep and would pose a problem if one had mobility issues. The toilet was located by the door next to the entrance but there was no sink for handwashing. Alcohol gel in a pump bottle was provided. There is a café, lifestyle / clothes shop and supermarket in the same building. Very convenient and the hotel's location was walkable to all the sights in Ghent central. The front desk staff were very polite and gracious and allowed us to store our luggage when we arrived before 11am, since check-in was strictly at 4pm. We were happy to find that our suitcases had been already delivered to our room when we returned to the hotel at 4pm. There are 2 bars in the hotel - one which is open to the public which was buzzing in the evenings and a guest-only ”Honesty Bar” (1st photo) in which hotel guests could purportedly help themselves to liquor and pen down what they had imbibed - but I never saw anyone in it ! This could be due to a lack of ice or mixers. Or glasses. 🍸

The room was fine. We needed extra bedding and 2 nice staff came immediately and made the extra bed for us. However! We arrived with a reservation confirmation of 2 adults 1 child. Their confirmation had 2 people therefore the room they had was too small. They did have another room for 3 they said we could have but it would be 30 euros extra. At the time we simply agreed and paid as there was a big queue behind us and the amount was small. Buttons seemed like a con to extract more money from us, it wasn't our mistake as we had confirmation for 3 people at the designated price. It's a shame as I really liked Ghent and will certainly return but there are other hotels to choose from.

The location of this store is very good, just near the scenic spot. The service attitude of the staff was excellent. I arrived very late that day, it was already 12 o'clock in the middle of the night, but the staff still received me warmly. It's a mixed-sex house, but it's very quiet and everyone is very well-behaved and orderly. It should be noted that everyone should try to check in as early as possible. If you arrive in the middle of the night, you may not be able to check in, but you will still be allowed to check in. In addition, a little tip for friends like me who are staying in a youth hostel for the first time. This hotel requires you to take down the bed sheet and put it in the lobby when you check out~

A fantastic hotel with an excellent location right by the canal. The hotel has two entrances: one accessible by vehicle on a back street, and another directly opening onto the canal. Tour boats stop almost right outside the hotel, making it incredibly convenient to pop back to rest our feet after exploring. The front desk staff were very friendly. The canal view was absolutely worth it; opening the window revealed a postcard-perfect scene. You could happily spend a whole day just enjoying the room. There's a supermarket nearby where you can buy fruit and water, and complimentary water was also provided in the fridge. The spacious bathroom was well-equipped with an iron, hairdryer, slippers, and a shower cap. Marriott's quality standards are definitely upheld here. Highly recommended!

The hotel is in a great location. Not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city center, but you can easily get everywhere on foot. The room is large and the furnishings are adequate for a short visit. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly. One big downside, however, was the breakfast. You have to book a time slot in the morning when you want to have breakfast. Despite this, the buffet is completely overcrowded, all the tables are occupied and the staff can't keep up with refilling the food, so there were almost only empty baskets and plates. It was a bit emptier on Sundays, but nobody kept an eye on things, so our table was covered, even though we were only at the buffet quickly and our menu and cell phone were still on the table. There is definitely room for improvement here.

The room is clean. The bottom of the bunk bed was small and the upper one was more comfortable. It happened that there were only two people in a 6-person room, so bed making was not a pain. When making beds, I found a stain like a spill on the futon cover. It took 5 minutes to get hot water. Other than that, there is no complaint. You can walk to the tourist spots. The tram ride fee is high for Japanese people, so I walked to Hento Sint Peters station for about 30 minutes to save money.

I saw a few small black bugs in the room, so if you don't like bugs, you may want to be careful. It didn't bother me, so I was able to stay there without any inconvenience or discomfort. The elevator and doors were still in their old-fashioned form, which was quite charming. The old lady at the front desk was very lovely and explained things to me carefully, so overall I was satisfied.

Great hotel in a great location! I was situated in the front of the hotel facing the street with beautiful views of Gent’s skyline. Lots of cafes and restaurants just downstairs and in walking distance. There was also a lot of great shopping nearby. Standard retail that you could find in most cities and also interesting shops with handmade and unique products. Also walking distance to all the sights you want to see. Although the room is small, it was comfy.

It couldn't be more central. They asked me if I wanted a quieter interior room or an exterior one. I asked for the latter and what a view! A marvel from that point of view, perfect. The bathroom was tiny, but the shower was new and you could hear the neighbours because the rooms are very close together. Something strange, in the room the heating system is like the old air conditioning and it was noisy, it turned off by itself even if you changed the temperature and you woke up quite cold. The breakfast was average, today for example the eggs were very dry as if they were from yesterday, which I'm not saying they were, but they seemed that way and the sausages were the same. The baguette, on the other hand, was delicious. The waitress at night, charming.

The hotel was converted from a monastery built in the 13th century, so the environment is extremely comfortable and quiet. At first glance, it doesn't look like a hotel at all. It is more suitable for traveling alone or as a couple. The hotel staff are also very friendly. It is relatively close to the tram station, which can be reached in three to five minutes on foot. The only thing is that in the winter in Europe, the room is too cold. I asked the front desk for a heater to solve the problem. Other things are fine.

Traveling around Europe and this was the best hotel and room. Above all praise. Cleanliness and comfort 10 out of 10. The breakfast was wonderful, overall I didn’t want to leave, it felt like home. But Luxembourg lies ahead, although I will spend the night in Metz, since Luxembourg has very expensive hotels, and I’m going further to Strasbourg) I strongly recommend the hotel! Best!

The room was clean and tidy. We upgraded to a sea view room with a beautiful industrial style. It was so beautiful to listen to old records and look at the sea view. When checking in, they kindly handed us drinks and fruits. The front desk also had Fuji apples every day. Although they were not in the room, we were welcome to pick up two when we passed by. The downside was that the room was very small, the window could not be opened, and there were layers of doors in the corridor. I didn't know what to do when the fire alarm went off. It was a bit stuffy and we didn't turn on the heater. Overall, it was good. It was a few minutes away from central by boat, which was very convenient. Recommended!

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Coffee, tea and biscuits were provided. The bathroom was bright and the staff at the counter were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the central station, but a little far from the attractions. Since we were not in a hurry, we could reach the attractions in about half an hour.

The service of the hotel is very good, it is a small private house, the room is very big, and it is a handsome male waiter who also helped us plan the route of play. There is heating in the house, which just feels that the whole house is relatively old and smells a bit. Very convenient for self-driving, parking is free. You can rent hotel bicycles to play in Ghent, 9 euros per person a day. A small hotel very close to the people

Beautiful hotel with perfect view of a cathedral from our twin room. Hotel is in a historic building with lovely architectural features by the canal and the room we were in was a cleverly designed ”duplex” with the bathroom and sinks on the upper floor (ie loft) which made full use of the almost double volume ceiling in the smallish twin room we were in. The only drawback was that the steps were narrow and steep and would pose a problem if one had mobility issues. The toilet was located by the door next to the entrance but there was no sink for handwashing. Alcohol gel in a pump bottle was provided. There is a café, lifestyle / clothes shop and supermarket in the same building. Very convenient and the hotel's location was walkable to all the sights in Ghent central. The front desk staff were very polite and gracious and allowed us to store our luggage when we arrived before 11am, since check-in was strictly at 4pm. We were happy to find that our suitcases had been already delivered to our room when we returned to the hotel at 4pm. There are 2 bars in the hotel - one which is open to the public which was buzzing in the evenings and a guest-only ”Honesty Bar” (1st photo) in which hotel guests could purportedly help themselves to liquor and pen down what they had imbibed - but I never saw anyone in it ! This could be due to a lack of ice or mixers. Or glasses. 🍸
