The hotel's location is arguably the best in the Old Town, and it's also considered the top five-star hotel in the area. Although the rooms are a bit on the smaller side, which is expected in the Old Town, it's incredibly convenient for getting around since it's right next to all the main attractions, all within walking distance. The breakfast spread is extensive and very good, and the bedding is decent. The absolute best thing about this hotel is its superb location.

Crowne Plaza Istanbul – Old City: Refined Comfort and Remarkable Service (Room 3219) As someone who travels frequently for both professional and personal reasons, often staying in dozens of hotels across different countries each year, I’m not easily impressed. Yet, my recent stay at the Crowne Plaza Istanbul – Old City genuinely stood out. It’s a property that masterfully combines thoughtful design, polished service, and a location that captures the very essence of Istanbul’s history and rhythm. An Experience Worth Remembering Location & Access Situated in the heart of the city’s historic core, this hotel makes exploration effortless. From here, it’s just a short walk to the Grand Bazaar, Sultanahmet, and several key transport links. The setting feels authentic and lively; ideal for guests who want proximity without sacrificing comfort. Room 3219 – Exceptional Comfort The room offered a superb balance of functionality and elegance. It was impeccably clean, featuring plush bedding, perfect lighting for reading or work, and a surprisingly quiet HVAC system, a rarity in city hotels. Small details, like the scent of fresh linen and a spotless bathroom, reinforced the sense of care behind the housekeeping standards. Service & Staff The staff are the heartbeat of this property. Every interaction, from check-in to checkout, reflected professionalism anchored in genuine warmth. They anticipated needs before being asked, making the experience feel personal rather than procedural. This consistency across teams’ front desk, dining, and housekeeping speaks volumes about the culture of service within the hotel. Dining Experience Breakfast was both indulgent and efficient. The buffet selection was diverse, featuring beautifully presented dishes that catered to both international and local palates. The staff handled the morning rush with grace and precision, maintaining quality and attentiveness without any sense of haste. Facilities & Ambience Public areas were spotless and aesthetically cohesive. The fitness and spa areas were well-maintained, creating a serene environment ideal for unwinding after long days in the city. The lounge and lobby were comfortable enough to double as workspaces, a feature that frequent travelers will appreciate. The One Minor Quirk I noticed some early-morning noise, mostly the seagulls, a distant metro vibration, and a faint scratchy sound around 6 a.m. While this didn’t detract from the overall stay, it’s worth noting for lighter sleepers. It’s a subtle reminder that even in the most refined settings, Istanbul’s energy has its own morning rhythm. Final Thoughts What defines the Crowne Plaza Istanbul – Old City isn’t just its luxury—it’s the consistency of experience. Every aspect feels considered and intentional. Having stayed at countless hotels across Europe, the Middle East, and North America, it’s rare to find one that strikes this balance of local charm and international polish. I often recommend property to colleagues who travel as frequently as I do, and this one has already made it to the top of that list. It leaves one wondering: how might the experience differ in another season, on a higher floor, or in one of the suites overlooking the skyline? Would the same quiet elegance and seamless service hold up under different conditions? Those are questions I find myself curious to explore again, perhaps sooner than I planned.

Overall a lovely stay. A lots of pros- Great breakfast, friendly staff, 24hr gym, free parking, very safe. Booked a one day tour to Troy, got picked up and drop off at the hotel, saved 2 trips to the Istanbul city,a present surprise. Own experience - Location is far and not easily accessible from main tourist attractions. For self drive, the hotel is located next to a highway, if missed the turning, go around is 7 min. Baby pool was not open, swimming hat compulsory or can buy for 130TR from spa desk.

A good, clean, non-smoking hotel with an excellent location. The gym is excellent, and all the equipment is new. However, I was disappointed that the rooftop pool was only open for one day out of my seven-day stay, and even then, it opened 1.5 hours later than advertised. Furthermore, the air conditioning in the room couldn't be turned off, and the temperature wasn't adjustable.

Our stay at Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus was absolutely incredible, a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and elegance. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality that truly made us feel welcome. The location is ideal, offering easy access to both the historic and modern sides of Istanbul. The hotel is beautifully situated near the Bosphorus, and the views from the room were simply breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. Our room was spacious, spotless, and elegantly designed with modern touches. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom luxurious, and the housekeeping team ensured everything was immaculate throughout our stay. The service at Conrad Istanbul is top notch, attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. Every staff member went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable experience. Whether it was at the reception, concierge, or restaurant, the level of detail and personal attention was outstanding. Breakfast was another highlight, a lavish buffet with a wide variety of Turkish and international dishes, all beautifully presented. The terrace restaurant offers stunning views of the Bosphorus, making each morning feel special. The hotel facilities are equally impressive, from the elegant lobby and rooftop lounge to the spa, pool, and fitness center, everything reflects Conrad’s world class standards. Overall, Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus is the perfect choice for anyone seeking a luxurious stay in Istanbul. The room was excellent, clean and hygienic, with a small rooftop terrace offering a glimpse of the sea. The hotel's location is super convenient; right outside is the Istanbul University station for the T1 tram line. It's only about a 15-minute ride to Hagia Sophia, and just a few more stops to the European side ferry terminals, which is very handy. The breakfast at the hotel was outstanding, with a wide variety of choices. The bread was freshly baked in a small oven right there, and they even had an entire honeycomb to enjoy – incredibly generous! The hotel service was also top-notch. We arrived on an early morning flight, and the kind lady at the front desk enthusiastically helped us check in early. We were able to have a refreshing shower and seamlessly start our day of sightseeing. Highly recommended!

Our recent stay at The Ritz-Carlton was nothing short of extraordinary, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share our experiences. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff set the tone for an unforgettable visit. The property itself is stunning, with a ambiance that’s both elegant and welcoming. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully appointed—everything you could want in a luxury hotel setting. What truly made our stay special, however, were the thoughtful touches provided by housekeeping. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, addressing our needs promptly and anticipate them before they arose. One of the standout features of our stay was how well The Ritz-Carlton catered to families—specifically for our young daughter. From the moment we checked in, we were impressed with the array of toys and activities available for children, which kept her entertained and happy throughout our visit. The kids playroom was excellent. We spent almost 1hrs playing there. It’s clear that the hotel prioritizes making family stays as enjoyable and seamless as possible, and we deeply appreciated their efforts. Our time at The Ritz-Carlton was a combination of luxury, comfort, and attentive service that made it feel like a true home away from home. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

I had a wonderful stay at the DoubleTree Sirkeci. The hotel was incredibly comfortable, with spacious rooms that offered plenty of room to relax after a long day of exploring the city. One of the highlights of my experience was the warm and helpful staff. Always polite, attentive, and ready to assist with any request. The location is a major plus. Situated right in the heart of the city, it's within walking distance to two tram stations, making it very convenient to get around. It's also close to the Bosphorus Strait, perfect for those who want to enjoy a scenic stroll or hop on a ferry. Another great feature is the on-site dining. The hotel has food and beverage outlets right downstairs, which made grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a relaxed meal very easy. This hotel is super conveniently located, just about 100 meters from the Hagia Sophia and a quick 3-minute walk to the Topkapi Palace. The Basilica Cistern is also only a 5-minute stroll away. There's no elevator, but the staff were amazing; they carried all our luggage up to the room for us. We didn't have to lift a finger. When we checked out, they contacted us in advance and came up to collect our bags. Alternatively, we could have just left our luggage outside the door for them to pick up. The hotel is situated within a pedestrian-only area of the tourist district, so cars can't get within the last 30 meters. However, the staff helped us wheel our luggage out to the car and even proactively helped us connect with our driver. The service throughout our stay was excellent. The lobby is beautifully and warmly decorated. The garden breakfast deserves a special shout-out; the setting is lovely, and you can order à la carte. With a fountain nearby, it felt like we were having breakfast right inside the Topkapi Palace next door. From our room, we could see a part of the Hagia Sophia through the window. On the other side, there was a coastline viewpoint where many tourists were feeding seagulls, so there were always seagulls circling outside – quite romantic!

The view from the top floor is very good, you can see the Marmara Sea and two famous mosques. The facilities inside the hotel are OK, but some switches are broken. Because of the flight that day, I checked in at 6 am, but the hotel refused to let me in. I asked for extra money, but it was not allowed. The hotel is already old. Very poor breakfasts, there is really nothing to eat, I was left hungry. All the furniture is already worn out, but everything is clean and tidy. There are very few people in the hotel, a quiet place, so we did not hear anyone, although they write that the audibility is bad. We asked for a non-smoking room, there was no smell anywhere, probably again because no one lived nearby. One of the advantages is that the metro is right next door. But again, it takes about an hour to get to the tourist places) There are 2 good shopping centers nearby. In the closest one, across the road, there is an exchange office on the second floor.

Yes, the hotel has seen a lot in its time, but if you don't have high expectations, then you won't be disappointed. We didn't expect anything special, just a day to lie in the pool and in this regard everything was great - few people, good pools, everything is clean, comfortable, works properly, time flies. Therefore, if the goal is just a day or two to relax from the hustle and bustle, then the hotel is perfect. Yes, the Internet on the 5th floor drops out and you can say that it does not work, but near the reception, including by the pools, it works great. You can't really go to the center, 25 stops on Marmaray is a test, so lie around, swim, walk around the hotel grounds. The service is a bit strict, but practical, they gave us tea while waiting for registration upon arrival. In general, if you understand why you need this, then I recommend the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and liked its location. Staff are friendly and helpful and we appreciated the daily room cleaning and reset. The best feature of the hotel is that it is well situated to explore Istanbul and is about a 10 minute walk to the Sultanahmet Square where you will find many of the main attractions in Istanbul like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. There is a tram line station very close to the hotel and it is a short walk to Sirkeci metro station. It was a good base for us as we checked out the areas across the water. It is a little far from both airports with each taking about 1.5 hours to get to but we felt the location was worth the time. The room's decor was a bit aged but charming. The beds were comfy and you can get extra pillows here. The room ran a bit warm during our stay but it was a bit noisy outside with frequent tram trains and restaurants below so we kept the window shut. They do have air conditioning and a radiator but we felt the AC wasn't worth turning on during a cool stay in December. Our neighbours were a bit noisy and it kept my wife up but I had no issues sleeping. It was moderately inconvenient when the restaurant decided to pop their new year's eve decorations at 1 in the morning. The bathroom was good and clean with good shower pressure, soft towels and we appreciated the warming rack for the towels. They provide soap and shampoo in dispensers in the shower. The breakfast was decent enough to start the day. They had enough to do a Turkish style breakfast and most options were pretty light. They had some hot items like sausage, scrambled eggs and other options that changed daily. They also had an area for cold items like cheese, labneh, yoghurt, vegetables and some cold cuts. They had a limited selection of fruit with some oranges and apples. They also had coffee, tea, juice and water. I had an early check out on my last day and they made me a nice bagged lunch to go to the airport with and have me a big can of juice which was very nice. The hotel provides bottled water for guests as well as lots of tea for in room use. The hotel has a restaurant on site and a small outdoor patio that is open for lunch, dinner and late dinner. They have some spa and massage treatments that you can book at the front desk. There are quite a few bath, restaurants, shops and other experiences nearby. People in the area are very friendly, welcoming and will invite you into their shop or restaurant...frequently.

I would like to share my experience during my stay . Overall, the cleanliness and restaurant service were good; however, I faced an unacceptable situation at the health club. On my first day using the health club — which was included free with my room booking — I was informed that the allowed time was thirty minutes. After spending about ten minutes in the sauna and steam room, I proceeded to the Turkish bath. Shortly after I entered, the staff asked me to leave because another ”preferred guest” wanted to use it, even though I had entered with their approval and according to the schedule. I refused to leave since I had entered before that guest, but then the health club manager came and repeated the same request, stating that the other guest gives them tips. I had no choice but to leave the place while I was still wet and very upset about their unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. I immediately went to the reception desk to file a complaint, but I was surprised to learn that the hotel management had no authority over the health club. No apology or compensation was offered for the incident, which left me with a very negative impression of the service and guest treatment.

A lovely hotel - super aesthetic, and you can tell it's full of culture. We arrived around 2 am, tired as expected, and the receptionist was just wonderful. There was some confusion around the deposit and method of payment, but he was extra patient and accommodating. Just a shame that no one greeted us outside / helped with the bags, which we saw happen for some other guests (for us, the concierge just stood at the entrance watching us - not really the kind of welcome I'd expect for a 5 star hotel). We asked for two room cards, one of which stopped working on the second day, but that was quickly fixed by reception. We also realized that one card worked better for turning the room 'on' than the other card. One would always 'disconnect' and turn the electricity off, so that took a bit of trial and error. Calling reception wasn't always productive, unfortunately. Sometimes they didn't answer at all, so we had to go downstairs to them instead. The housekeeping line was a bit more useful. We asked reception/housekeeping for an iron/ironing board and had to wait almost 45 minutes for it. We also asked for room service and we could tell the bedsheets weren't changed / bathroom wasn't cleaned. It wasn't really an issue for us, but for a 5 star hotel, I expected a little better room service. We loved the breakfast. So many options and a great variety. Some of the waiters/waitresses didn't seem too happy to be there, which isn't great when you're going to have breakfast and see unhappy faces all around you. But, I came across the sous chef on more than one occasion and he was a delight. There was one waiter who was also lovely, and chatted to me about where I was from and how interested he was in the Spanish language. Location of the hotel is great, within walking distance for several of Istanbul's 'hot spots'. Only 10 min walk from the ferry station, about 15 min walk to Hagia Sophia or the Grand Bazaar, and a bit further to get to the Blue Mosque. Galata Tower is also within walking distance if you enjoy a good walk. If not, there are plenty of tram/bus stations around. We stayed for 6 nights and never needed to use the tram/bus, though (walked around 15k-16k steps a day!).

Shower equipment was broken, it was very hard to maintain the water temperature and pressure. The design of the bathtubs-shower combination was horrible. You need to step up into the bath tube and it is so dangerous. The breakfast was very good but the coffee and tea were terrific. A good hotel can't buy an automatic espresso machine. We had a very unpleasant experience with stuff at the lobby , being there for Christmas Eve , me & my sister decide to eat inside the hotel rather to go out so at 10 pm we came down to the lobby where there is lounge area , for almost 15 minutes we saw that the lounge staff is passing us without asking if we want to order so I called one of the waitress and she came toward us with furious gestures before I start asking she said to me do you have a room in the hotel and I said yes , she continues what’s your room number and I replied , again with the cold face and rude behavior she continues ‘ under the name ?’ And I replied, she turned back to her desk without asking us what we would like to order and From her desk she went straight to reception to verify my information!!! My jaws dropped when I saw this , really rude & unprofessional behavior I was in complete shock that she even went to reception to verify the information, but the worst part was that after she verified and actually saw that we are the guest of the hotel she turned back to her desk and continued ignoring us , I never ever seen in my entire life a waitress permits herself to act like this with 5 star hotel guests, at this point we asked another waitress that if she can took our order , we then asked her if the hotel have another restaurant and she replied yes but the kitchen is closed after 10:30 pm , I don’t recommend this hotel for anyone that wants to enjoy the hotel facility, the staff are not guest friendly, the dining section is in some floor but for person like me that wants more easy snacks and chill area wasn’t really good option, not to mention that when we came back to our room we really felt so heavy and frustrated by this behavior, we were supposed to go today to lounge before departing but as for yesterday experience we just decide to check out soon and leave the hotel because we didn’t like to tolerate the attitude of this waitress ( she is the short women with short brown hair ) I suggest the general manager to see the video of yesterday and review their staff!

There is no subway station nearby, and public transportation is inconvenient. It is best to choose the hotel for meals. Breakfast in the morning is ok, but not cheap. For those who are on a business trip, they can only take a taxi

Overall average hotel- should be not be classed as 5 star . A bit disappointed in the food selection at breakfast and also on a number of occasions many breakfast items running out . The pool was disappointingly small and also had to wear swimming caps in the swimming pool. Air con seemed to be centrally controlled until we raised this with staff and dramatically improved. On positive note the gym was good and a very good size and also location was good as lots of nice food places around and easy access of trams and bus service .

Good location, very friendly... Unfortunately we had the same breakfast every day! We even asked about missing butter while the employee was scrolling. In the bathroom we could only change the water from hot to cold with force, because of the calcified (probably) faucet. The hairdryer turned off by itself after 5 minutes, so I could only dry half of my hair. This hotel definitely does not deserve 5 stars.

Unfortunately, the taxi company hired by the hotel was unprofessional and led to a dangerous situation for me. The hotel took note of this and reported it to the taxi company. The hotel staff was very kind and understanding, and attentive to the problem.

We checked in in the evening. At the reception they said there was no electricity and sent us to a neighboring motel for the night. The class of the motel for replacement was much lower with a view of the wall. This spoiled the impression, but the employee said that in the morning we could have breakfast in our hotel and check in. As a result, I came to the reception in the morning, and there another smiling employee said that our room was occupied by other guests and they would check out only by 12, and we would be able to get into it by 1 p.m., if they managed to clean it ((( At half past one in the afternoon we were let into our room... No one compensated for anything for the day and in this regard I ask trip.com to look into this situation. The hotel itself is not bad, the staff is good, the breakfasts are monotonous, 3 out of 5 and that's a stretch, but the same breakfasts in neighboring hotels... apparently this is the norm for Turkey. In all other respects, no complaints! If it weren't for the first day stolen with deception, then it would be a pretty good, but very small hotel. I will not go there again and am waiting for compensation for the day!

Fantastic hotel, we booked the suite for our honey moon. The room was large, clean and modern. Bed comfortable, spa bath great. The staff are lovely, They were happy to help with changing language on tv, booking taxi's etc. Breakfast is a standard hotel breakfast. The sauna, steam room and pool are great for relaxing. The gym is a small fitness room with basic machines and Dumbbells, not incredible but it was enough to get in a workout. I didn't try the hamam myself.e It's a 5 minute walk to Taksim square, it is a steep hill so wouldn't be suitable for wheelchairs (but where in Istanbul is?). The room service is provided by a third party, ours was very late and the provider forgot his card machine. we paid in euro's. It's not under the hotels control so i don't blame them, but wouldn't use that service again I would definitely book the suite again.
