The location could seem a bit tricky for first timers in goa as it is not near any of the beaches. The property is located in the touristy fontainhas area. The hotel is not in a close proximity to much and the taxi system is not efficient meaning that getting around is really hard. You can only use GoaMiles which doesn’t have ***y drivers in this area, alternatively you can use more expensive taxis. We stayed at surya kiran heritage hotel for two days. First off the location - the location is at a perfect place with all places of panjim accessible. It is near the main road but yet away from all the noise and din. Property - the property is a 110 old bunglow. It is aesthetically decorated with antique pieces placed all around the corners. The verandah at the centre of the bunglow was decorated beautifully with plants and a small water outlet with fishes. Just makes you happy. Rooms: the rooms are large with a large box bed just like olden days. The rooms are clean with all amenities. Well maintained. The standard room where we stayed had access to the outer balcony where we could sit and have breakfast. Bathrooms: the bathrooms are huge and clean. The fittings are all modern with ample water supply. Breakfast : the breakfast is a simple affair. There is no buffet, one has to order. The poha and the team served were delicious. The stay at grand delmon was very comfortable. The staff was very courteous and supportive. The breakfast was also very good. The hotel is in the center and has the best location as the same is near from the market. If you are looking for a safe location, this is the best place to go. The property is nicely maintained with the staying rooms in the well firmished first floor which has a nice sit in space in the common area with a sofa as well as another sitting area with some books for reading, in case you forgot to bring own books. The rooms are well furnished with a split airconditioner, a nice king size double bed, huge wooden cupboard with additional storage space below the tv table etc. The furniture is of good quality and apart from that there is a huge window space where you can keep some additional stuff, if you want. The bathrooms are nice - one thing i need to mention is the soap they kept is the pears soap(marooning) with its unique nice smell. From the windows you can see the milling crowds almost all the time taking photos against the background of this building. They see you in wonder when you step out of the building. The caretakers anil and thippanna are nice people who attend to your requests politely. The breakfast is at taj vivanta panaji and a shuttle can take you there and drop back. We requested that the breakfast be delivered at ama trails itself - which was also taken care of. The taj hospitality is so good it spoils you - when you stay in other places you tend to find fault in almost everything. The only downside if you call it, is the area is all the time with tourists and there is no proper parking- though you can park near this property. The taj team was kind enough to accommodate me in vivanta panaji for a part of my stay and park my car there- which was truly memorable.
