Stayed just for one night with a good friend. Room was fine and well worth the price we paid. Coffee/tea, biscuits. We had a bit of a problem with noisy guests next door but was quickly sorted out. Breakfast was really fabulous. Best I’ve had in a long time. Recommend for short stay.

Having just stayed at this hotel for 1 night (Saturday 9th October 2022) I can’t tell you how it thoroughly ruined our weekend. We had booked 3 rooms and each room was extremely disappointing! First room we were shown was a basement double with no wardrobe or mirror in the room. The carpet was badly stained and there was mould on the walls! We then were moved to another double which wasn’t much better and nothing at al like the photos on the website. The hotel says on the booking.con website that it has taken extra health and hygiene measures were in place to ensure your safety is their priority this is so inaccurate! There was only a tiny heater in the room and a bedside lamp which didn’t work and the hair dryer was broken. The room was damp and the other two bedrooms had dirty carpets and mould. Another room had the toilet which made a noise every minute throughout the night due to macorater, there was tissue stuffed in the corner of the shower and the trim was missing (video attached). The window in the room was tiny with a fraught comin through and the blind covering this which flapped all night! After having a sleepless night we came down to breakfast where nothing had been prepared and laid out to be greeted by a member of staff with broken English in a football shirt jacket and dirty jogging bottoms who was not only waiting on us but also cooking their breakfast, hence we had to wait over an hour for breakfast which was cold- didn’t think you could go wrong with beans on toast, how wrong was I! One of our family members have recently moved to Sale so we are trying to find a hotel nearby where we would be coming up and visiting once a month but we will be staying well away from this hotel!

I loved this hotel, the location, the room, the food and all but one of the staff and this is why I rated it a 3. We arrived at the hotel early and knew we couldn’t take the room over until 3pm, so we were told we could use the bar, we sat with wine in the beautiful gardens and the exploring began, to our surprise we found a trim trail track had a go and realised how old we are, pretty quickly. How was an amazing member of staff very knowledgable and helpful, like I said the food was good. Now I hope the manager reads this and takes some action, at around 5pm my other half was chilling after a shower and I was stood making a drink, when we booked in at 3pm everything was done on line, if there was an issue, check the computer or ring the room, anyway at around 5pm I heard a bleep and an unknown male walked into my room, when I challenged him he said he was the late turn receptionist and he came to check if the room had been taken over. I was angry this should never happen what if my other half was alone in the shower or valuables were left out and we were not in the room, I was determined this wouldn’t spoil my break, I rang reception to check and complain, the same male answered the phone and confirmed it was him then hung up on me. Undeterred we did enjoy our evening and the next days breakfast but made a complaint with the female receptionist in the morning. If this incident hadn’t of happened which is a security issue I would have awarded 4.5 stars.
