The best location in the selected hotel in Kyoto! Just a few steps away from the house and turn left is the Jin Market. There is a main road nearby. The four most lively areas are super convenient for food and shopping! I will give priority to this one when I go to Kyoto in the future! Very self-service hotel, enter the door every day, and then use the key to open the door. Maybe the only inconvenience is that check-in is at Kyoto Station, but the problem is not big, and there will be a shuttle bus back to the hotel after registration. No breakfast, but no need at all! Because it is next to the Nishiki Market, I don’t have to worry about having no place to eat every day! In addition, it is very suitable for family travel. The annex building can accommodate 4 people, and the room in the main building can accommodate 5 people. The price/performance ratio is quite high!

Don’t be deter by the photo thinking that you need to take the staircase to your accommodation, you access the unit by the lift at the back of this building. Value for money due to it great location, just a few walk to the metro station and walking distance to few places of interest, Nishiki Market, Yasaka-jinja Shrine, Gion (10 to 20 mins). Self-contained unit, very comfortable beds, lot of space for bags. It is a surrounded by supermarket, convenience stores and eatery. There is also locker to store your luggage at 300 yen after check out since there no reception area.

There were no Korean reviews or blogs, so there were a lot of difficulties. If you call in advance before check-in, you can store your luggage or check in quickly. And the accommodation is really nice. I had a lot of trouble because there weren't many reviews. There is 1 tatami room, 1 bedroom, 1 small room, and 1 attic, as well as 2 beds and 4 bedding sets. It is spacious enough to accommodate up to 6 people. It's nice to have a Family Mart and 7-Eleven nearby. Take exit 5 of Sijo Station, go into the alley on the left, and walk 200m to find the shrine. Just go into the shrine alley. There is no front desk. A staff member will come and be waiting for you at 4 o'clock. If you would like to store your luggage or check-in quickly, you can call the hotel and request quick check-in. The information staff can speak English, so you can speak English.

When we arrived, Inoue-san was waiting to welcome us in front of the property. (I felt bad because we arrived later than anticipated due to traffic.) He helped us carry all our heavy suitcases. We received a warm welcome and his hospitality during our stay was second to none. Everything about the property was wonderful! The location was perfect as we were there for the Kyoto Gion Matsuri. There were lots going on the street we were on, including hoko (floats) parade, hoko assembling, music rehearsal at night, and hoko disassembling, which were very interesting. We enjoyed restaurants all around in neighborhood from Gyoza to Motsunabe. Transportation access to bus stops and train stations was good. The property was super clean. Having a washing machine and dryer system in the bathroom really helped us since we were there for a week. We definitely go back if we travel in Kyoto again in the near future!

The interior of the house is really nice. The room is large and comfortable. All sanitary facilities are available and it is very clean. The distance from the bus station and subway station is also pretty good. I just want to complain here: the navigation location on Google Maps is wrong, and I couldn’t contact the Japanese boss in China in advance, so I walked back and forth around the store for nearly an hour. Google Maps showed that I had arrived, but I couldn’t find it. No specific location. Everyone in the family was very angry. I really hope the shop owner can explain this in detail. The room is obviously not bad, so don't lose customers because you can't find the right place. The store owner should draw a detailed map. Bathroom I only met the staff once upon check in. One common bathroom was be shared by 5 rooms of people. All the rooms seemed to be occupied and that probably had 12-15 guests. I waited up to 20 mins for my turn to shower. I also had to sit at the dining table to show my intention that I am queueing to use the bathroom. I was tired after a long day of sightseeing and it was very unpleasant to wait just to shower. The bathroom was flooded to the dry section on multiple occasions and my hubby had to use his hand to remove the hair from the drain. Room The beds were comfortable enough and the heater kept us warm. There were enough bath towels to go around. I was allocated a triple room with windows which I appreciated. However, the sound pollution from the passing vehicles was bad. Fortunately, my family members were not light - sleepers, so we could still fall asleep despite the vehicle noise. It would be really bad for light-sleepers. On the third night, the white light was left switched on. The light passed through the frosted panel on my door. Location Even though there are two train stations - Fushimi Inari Keihan Station and Inari JR Station . Beware !!! It is not convenient AT ALL. Fushimi Inari Keihan Station which is a little nearer is not connected to Kyoto Station. For JR Pass users, I had to get a separate ticket whenever I want to use this station. For JR Inari Station which is at the door step of Fushimi - Inari Taisha Shrine, it is not a subway type of train. It is a local train that comes by about every 30 minutes. I had to time myself properly to be in time for this train. It is not fast at all and it has wasted a lot of my time. If you are pressed for time, choose another place nearer to a subway station. I paid about S$200 per night for a room for three. I feel that it is not value for money.

We arrived to find a charming location. The room however was extremely hot (located on the top floor - the 4th). They told us it was unseasonably warm and should cool down at night. This is a fairly small room with 3 adults. They do not turn on AC until May. This wouldn’t be a problem if they had windows that opened (they told us that they don’t bc of an agreement they have with the house next door). They also didn’t have a fan or even try to find one for us. We wound up leaving the room door open for a while and the bathroom vent actually helped. The first night was pretty miserable but then it was fine. The staff was actually very nice but I would have appreciated some help in obtaining a fan. It was getting late and we couldn’t get to a store to buy one. The room itself was small but had 2 beds then a roll out couch that wasn’t very comfortable. The bathroom itself wasn’t large enough to hold toiletry bags but was otherwise clean and worked well. The location was pretty ideal for us. Near train stations, restaurants, convenience stores and the imperial palace. The breakfast is a great start to the day as well. Simple, fresh and good. The staff gave us a recommendation for a yakatori place and even set up the reservations. It was delicious. When we were waiting for our taxi to leave, it was raining and one of the staff came out and stood next to me with an umbrella. It was very sweet and I was grateful. I think they should think about keeping a couple fans on hand if they aren’t going to allow AC or have windows that open. It’s horrible feeling all gross from travel and then get to the room to feel hot. Due to their kindness and assistance through the rest of the stay I’m giving 4 stars.

Oh my God. What a pleasant stay I had in this most comfortable, cozy, clean and friendly guest house. The owner, Mrs. Hidemi, and her children, Yukari and Suguru, are simply too nice to describe. First of all, the hosts: Hidemi (Amei), Yukari, and Suguru. Secondly, the place is super clean and very comfortable. Thirdly, the facilities are superb; including DIY laundry, fridge, etc. Fourtly, it is located in Nakagyo neighborhood, which is hip and cool with galleries, cafes, small restaurants, convenience stores, pubs, onsen, around the corner from the Imperial Palace. Beautiful Guest House with amazing hosts. This family run Guest House is amazing. It is as good as a 5 star hotel but better! The rooms are spotless and a good size for Japan with all the amenities you could need. However, that is not the best part - the best part is the host family who are very special indeed. From the minute I was collected at Kyoto Station by Emiko and her father I was treated with such kindness and enthusiasm. I felt like I was royalty! I must not forget the location, which is perfect for visiting all the local attractions, either within walking distance, or a short train ride from the local station which is just a 5 minute walk. If you stay anywhere else in Kyoto you are just missing out on the best Guest House there is.
