For our first visit to Madrid we wanted a central accommodation with parking for our vehicle. From email to confirm that our apartment was ready and access procedures, through very sympathetic physical reception, very accessible parking and a rare quality apartment in this type of accommodation. The apartment was spacious enough, a kitchen corner, a living room and a huge bathroom with more than complete equipment and all of the cleanliness. We chose the breakfast on the site that was deposited before our door every morning (no restaurant room), in the form of a very complete meal basket, hot drinks being prepared by our care. We have enjoyed the very pleasant swimming pool area, on the terrace above the building, but not the adjacent bar, which is unfortunately closed due to a holiday day (San Isidro). Only a small bemol, a discotheque located in the street can cause some harm, not because of music but people out smoking or drinking a glass and sometimes talking loudly ... First concluding visit!

Overall. The hotel is near Puerta del Sol, there is access control, ring the bell or swipe the card to enter, feeling safe. The first floor is bright and warm, the first impression is not bad, the receptionist is older and the attitude is average. Enter the room to see that the facilities and sanitation are generally the same, it seems to be a private house renovation. The elevator is very fun. Press the button of the building. It will slowly rise or fall to this floor, and then quickly open the elevator door, otherwise it will leave. The first time I took this elevator, I didn't see it at first, and I climbed two floors with my suitcase.

Initially we went to the wrong place. Hotel Sardinero looks lovely btw! Hostel Sardinero is fine for what we paid. We had a street terrace. The aircon is extra money. We needed it so we paid but it did leak everywhere. The TV volume was stuck on low so we could barely hear it. The receptionist was very nice and we got by even though she spoke no English. She let us leave our luggage there after checkout. The entrance is through a common area with a elevator.

After leaving HOSTALIN and its cash-hungry receptionist, to the point of wanting to rip me off, I headed to hostal SAN ANTONIO. The check in being at 2 p.m., I could only leave my luggage. Not a place to hang out in this kind of Hostal. After drinking tea and then wandering for more than 2 hours in the freezing streets of Madrid, I showed up at the hostal. Formalities carried out and room settled: bad surprise. While I had requested a double room with a double bed (request confirmed by the booking site) I found myself in a small room with 2 beds. Moreover, the room is not only located right next to the reception but also opposite the front door. I went to ask the owner of the premises for explanations, who told me that only this room was available and tried to give me an explanation involving the booking site. Too bad he told me all this after I paid for the room. Last night, between the comings and goings of customers and the chill caught in the streets of Madrid, it was not peaceful. The next day: sick! Check out at 11 a.m. and only bus to Paris at 8 p.m. When I tried to explain my situation to the owner, she pretended not to understand anything. I understood that I could leave my luggage but not my person. Nothing was offered to me, for example to leave the premises at noon as was however specified in my reservation. I was forced to leave, feverish and weak. I make thanks for my day spent in Madrid in freezing cold.

Excellent location, almost on Paseo del Prado and close to Puerta de Atocha station. The room was not big, but not ridiculously small, with good facilities (private bathroom, good Wi-fi connection). We did not see much of the staff but the room was cleaned every morning when we came back after breakfast (not provided in the hotel). The air-con worked well (no additional charge whatsoever), it should not have been necessary at night but for the noise of other machines when we opened the window.

It is also a good location to walk to the center of Madrid and to arrive on foot for about 20 minutes even though it is the Sofia Museum. The hotel is located in an alley a little bit from the main street, but it doesn't feel dark because the night bars are lined up. Ya es la segunda vez que me quedo. El personal es súper amable siempre. Las veces que me he alojado han sido por un par de días y todo muy bien. Es limpio y acogedor. Ésta última vez tuve alguna petición para la habitación y me lo dieron. Lo mejor es la ubicación, está a pasos de puerta del sol que es la mejor zona para mi.

Please Avoid this place. It is cheap but nothing else! I stayed here checked into the receiption which is 24 hours after my working day. The place is near the metro cuatro caminos (a mainly poorer area of Madrid with lots of south american population). The area does have a 24 hour supermarket which was good as the hostal has no food/drink facilities. The room was a very small single bed as I was alone on an education course for my job. The room had a fan and tv and a small table. Once you switch off the light the fan goes off so you cannot sleep with the fan on at night with 39c heat. you cannot leave the window open as its not a safe place. The first moment I checked in, i quickly went outside to get air and get the metro outside. They checked in a drunk african man at 6pm in the evening who was walking up the stairs with a can of beer unable to walk or see anything (their is no lift to the rooms) you need to walk up around 50 stairs to the rooms. They take anyone from the streets if they pay the small charge to stay here. Second day, the two receiptionists or owners were fighting over money from the hotel they were shouting and getting agressive. Its was an uncomfortable situation to see. I left and came back after work for a shower and the room had not been cleaned. They said you didnt put a badge on the door saying clean my room. Couldnt they knock and say something? Very strange way of working? The next day I put the badge clean my room but NO nothing changed. It was an excuse.. Then I went and complained he didnt speak any English and didnt want to know he said the cleaners left and nothing he can do. I pulled off the bedsheets, but the bed protector was badly stained with blood and I also got a skin rash. I left the property 1 day early, it was disgusting. The toilets were not cleaned either and insects were crawling everywhere. This place should be closed down immediately. They dont take security or cleaning seriously, they dont want to know problems only take your money. I explained to Expedia about this place but the hotel denied everything. SHAME!!!

We were greeted upon arrival by a friendly receptionist who spoke English well and our room was comfortable. There was air conditioning, an empty fridge and a safe which were helpful. The rooms were also cleaned each day. Breakfast was excellent with a continental selection of cereals, breads and pastries along with bacon, sausage and scrambled egg. The location was fantastic allowing us to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit but it was also close to the Metro.

What to say about Bergantin? Well, you feel so welcomed , so safe, and you are close to everything, as well it is so nice and cozy. It is true that it can be hard to sleep due to the noise from outside, but if you mind that, then do not choose any hotel in Centre of Madrid. Whomever wants to be in the Centre will find it hard to sleep anywhere so please choose something else instead. This hotel has nice rooms, it is clean, and the staff is JUST AMAZING!!!......amazing. I have been there 3 times this year in 5 months.And last year as well was there. Thanks to Cesar, Kati, Javier and a nice cleaning lady. Cannot wait to come back!!!! Sweet rooms, bad smell everywhere to the point of giving you arcades, bathroom shared with 7 rooms with mugre (we dare not use it) the door of the room was not closed well... the bed had chinches and the sofas I think they were not clean, summarized a lot of dirt. The accommodation is really great for the value - I was positively surprised. It has very good location - just in front of the bus stop that you can easily reach the city center and on a 5 min walking distance from the Metro station Colombia. Rooms are new, very clean, stylish and spacious, bathroom is big enough, the room had a big balcony to the inner yard (not noisy). Internet connection is more than perfect. Room was cleaned every day. The reception is 24/7 and very friendly The windows are soundproof but unfortunately the walls are not - they are rather thin so you ca hear every little and not so little noise from the corridor or next room (or maybe because the bed was just next to the corridor wall). Some guest were rather noisy late in the evening/night and makes it difficult to sleep The TV had no English channels

But the main reason for the 1 star is that our room was broken into our first night while we were out to dinner. The door frames are very cheaply made. Oddly, nothing was stolen but it was upsetting. We had to repeatedly ask the management to fix the door and nothing was done to make things right. We were told we couldn't be moved to another room until our last night there, even though the room next to us became available. There are no additional facilities - no common areas, no self-catering. Just a room and that's it. Some of the rooms seem to be of a good size but as stated ours was very small. There was no fridge. The hotel has security problems. It can be accessed by anyone through the back by entering through the main building doors which were never locked. There was even a ladder propped up near the back windows making it easy to climb up to access the unbarred upper windows. Repeated attempts to address this were met with indifference by the front desk staff and I was told to contact the owner. I emailed, called, and sent a whatsapp and never got a response.

Hotel with the necessary services. Sparano, but clean. Excellent location for metro (Ventas and Manuel Becerra), restaurants, services. Silent street. Not offering breakfast, but turning the corner there is the embarrassment of the choice. A friendly staff and able to meet the needs. Excellent communication also with whatsapp. Possibility of late check in up to 2am.

I and a friend of mine have been in Madrid for 4 days and decided to stay in this amazing hostel: it has all the comforts near and is 3 minutes from the Gran Via. Excellent location, front of the police command and on the street leading to the hostel there is the Carrefour open 24 hours of 24 hours. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and very beautiful: they change their handbags every day and re-room despite being a hostel. Super recommended

Excellent location, almost on Paseo del Prado and close to Puerta de Atocha station. The room was not big, but not ridiculously small, with good facilities (private bathroom, good Wi-fi connection). We did not see much of the staff but the room was cleaned every morning when we came back after breakfast (not provided in the hotel). The air-con worked well (no additional charge whatsoever), it should not have been necessary at night but for the noise of other machines when we opened the window.

The hotel is ideally located to walk to the city's main attractions. It is located A 10-15 minutes walk from the station where a bus shuttle regularly (once every 15 minutes) to reach the airport. The staff is really friendly. Check in and check out easy and fast. There is a possibility to leave your baggage if you arrive before check-in and leave after check-out. I have not given the five stars because, unfortunately, the walls are really thin and the room neighbors and people in the streets feel, but with a couple of ears, everything is resolved. Another “negative” note is that shampoo and shampoo shower are very small and very difficult to open (I opened them by stripping them with my mouth 😅). So I recommend you to take the shampoo/shampoo from home. I found it really comfortable, and I would like to recommend the hotel to all, suggesting that you should take ears and shampoo/shampoo shower.

Only advantage to these apartments in my opinion is the location. The balcony is a Juliet Balcony, not big enough to sit on so this is misleading. The towels were very small and threadbare and you have to pay extra to get them replaced and clean ones. The cleanliness when we arrived was basic, the oven was greasy and apartment was dusty. The drains in the apartment were very smelly, they came and cleaned them but the smell came back the next day. There were no instructions or a welcome pack to give you an idea of the area ie metro lines, places of interest, just given key and not told the office is closed when you checkout. The area is very noisy and busy at all times but it's central so you have to expect this. The soundproofing between apartments is bad and you can hear people moving around at all times.

For the price of the room ( around 140 Euros or 7 nights), I was very satisfied. It is a family run hotel and all the staff were very helpful and some speak good English. There is no lift system but however, the stairs are wide and there are only a few floors. The free Wifi connection is good and there is a bar/ restaurant which is not expensive. The Metro is several minutes walk away and easy to find.

For the price, I found a very honest accommodation. They initially put me in a good room on the reception side, but I asked to swap for the noise and they put me on the other side of the hotel (a door on the other side of the corridor. And it was great. No luxury, small room, but everything was clean and quiet. Except for a few days with more noisy guests, but nothing that would bother me much. Moreover, staff were very nice and requested and the hotel has a very legal balcony. Of course, the location is wonderful!
