The Marlin Vientiane is very well located, and the room facilities as well as the pool area are quite nice and comfortable. Unfortunately, that is where the positive aspects end. The breakfast service is a complete disaster. Around 10:00 a.m. (breakfast is officially served until 10:30 a.m.), the buffet was already completely empty. What remained was old, dried-out cold cuts and cheese that looked far from fresh and clearly unhygienic. The overall cleanliness of the breakfast area was very poor and far below any acceptable standard. Communication within the breakfast area was nonexistent. The staff did not seem to coordinate with each other at all, and English communication was practically impossible. It gave the impression that management does not care about the food and beverage operation at all. Shortly after this breakfast experience, I became seriously ill with gastrointestinal symptoms, which strongly suggests a hygiene-related issue. While the hotel offers good comfort and an excellent location, a basic level of cleanliness and food safety should be expected—especially when it comes to breakfast. Due to this experience, I cannot recommend staying at this hotel.

This hotel is very good. Clean, cozy, good price, well located, great views, good internet, friendly staff, comfortable bed and big enough for two people, it is very quiet. This was one if the best hotel I stayed in Vientiane. I will definitely stay here next time. By the way those cupons they give you when you check-in are amazing. Very generous from this hotel. I am very happy I booked this hotel as solo traveller. I felt super safe and I also felt the staff took care of me when I needed something. Thanks you for everything and see you next time! 💕

I didn't want to review this hotel as I'm afraid more people would book it. The Riverside will definitely be the hotel that I stay at when I return to Vientiane. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a doorman that simply opens the door for you. The free breakfast varies a bit everyday which is nice. The hotel was upgraded about 2 years (I was told) and it is very nice and modern. But beware the walls are very thin and the stairs could use some colors the separate the steps. Apparently, there are interior rooms without windows (my rooms had windows with lots of natural light). The elevator is also small and fits about 4 people. What was initially a one night stay became almost a week. I will absolutely return here on my next trip.

The hotel is conveniently located downtown, making it easy to get around. It's only a ten-minute drive from the airport and very close to both night markets. The walk to the riverside for sunset views is beautiful. The room was standard, and the front desk staff spoke English and were very friendly. Breakfast was also decent.

Staff provide good service and are friendly and welcoming. The room is excellent: spacious, modern, clean, and overall better than many hotels in the same price range in Vientiane.

Clean and modern hotel near main centre and night market. Also walking easily to night food market and lots of restaurants nearby. The strip of riverside open air restaurants is maybe 10 mins walk. Pool was good a little cool but lovely views. Service is wonderful and staff friendly and helpful. Good choice will stay again.

Everything was perfect. Professional staff Cleaning service is performed late so you don’t have inconvenience early in the morning (very good cleaning service ; spotless ) There is a free transfer to the airport and you may enjoy a late checkout if needed It was very peaceful at the swimming pool The location in the old town is perfect to visit during the day or at night I highly recommend this hotel

The hotel boasts an excellent location, close to attractions like the Arc de Triomphe and the Presidential Palace, with plenty of restaurants nearby, making getting around incredibly convenient. The room was spacious and clean, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, ensuring a comfortable stay. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, which was a big plus for the hotel. Overall, it's a hotel with great value for money and definitely worth recommending. If I come back to Vientiane, I would choose to stay here again.

A great little hotel with a pool! Good location close to everything. Great staff who accommodate requests with a smile. The breakfast was really good too. They rent scooters, but do not get the electric.

The hotel is right next to the mall, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. I fell in love with this place after just one day. The restaurant food was delicious, especially perfect for my Chinese palate. The room facilities were well-equipped and clean, the bedding was comfortable and soft, and the decor was very stylish. The room even had a balcony, which was fantastic for enjoying the breeze and scenery at night. My absolute favorite part was the rooftop open-air swimming pool; the water was clean and odor-free. My stay here was absolutely amazing, highly recommended – you won't be disappointed!
