About Antalya Turkey

Fans of rich cultural heritage and historic architecture will feel right at home in Antalya. While the city is known for its stunning coastline, its other natural wonders like the snowy mountains are breathtaking too. If you're already sold on the destination, here is some useful information for travelers.

The time zone is GMT +3. Other than some jetlag, this time difference should not matter for vacationers, but for digital nomads and other remote workers, remember that you may have to adjust your schedule to keep up with any meetings or deadlines.

On the list of most populous cities in Turkey, Antalya sits at number 8. The city is located on the southwest coast. Antalya is also bordered by the Taurus Mountains, making the Antalya scenery uniquely diverse.

Things to Do in Antalya Turkey

About 30% of all of Turkey's international visitors go to Antalya. Aside from the destination being beyond photogenic, there is also an array of not-to-be-missed activities to explore. Below are some popular ones:

Antalya Turkey Beaches

This may seem like a no-brainer, but Antalya's beaches are so iconic to the city, it would be a mistake not to mention them.

Whether you are sunbathing on Mermerli, Lara, or Konyaalti Beach, you are bound to have a different experience on each shore. And there are many more beaches to explore while in Antalya. The selection of coastal hang-out spots will not disappoint.

History & Culture in Antalya Turkey

The province of Antalya offers plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the rich cultural and historic heritage of the area and Turkey as a whole.

A fun yet educational tour visitors can go on is a tour of Thaselys. There, you will find the ruins of what used to be an essential harbor for the area. Merchants from countries far and wide gathered there to work in commerce. While touring the ruins, you will be able to make out what used to be several stores and entertainment establishments. Some even opt to take a dip in the ocean right next to Thaselys. If you've seen enough sea for one trip, this is totally optional!

A completely different way to experience Antalya's extensive history is by visiting the Antalya Museum, also known as the Antalya Archeological Museum. A more traditional way to absorb the region's history, but just as captivating! The Antalya Museum is one of the largest museums of Turkey with 13 exhibition halls and an open-air gallery. The museum exhibits more than 5,000 different art pieces and houses approximately 30,000 artifacts not available for display. This award-winning museum is certainly worth a visit.

Ramada Hotel, Antalya Lara – Highly Recommended! I had an amazing stay at Ramada Hotel in Antalya, Lara. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the friendly and welcoming staff. The service was outstanding—everyone was helpful and always smiling. One of the best things was the parking service. You don’t have to worry about anything—they take care of your car, park it for you, and even wash it! It’s super convenient. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and has everything you need for a perfect vacation. If you’re visiting Antalya, I highly recommend staying here. You won’t regret it!

Lovely hotel building and it is right next to the beach, only downside is that the aircon never seemed to work. It was on the lowest but it never cooled the room. Most of the staff were lovely and friendly, however the staff in the 10th floor restaurant could have been a bit friendlier and more responsive. The hotel has a nice pool area, with a good happy hour.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Antalya for our honeymoon and had a lovely experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We really appreciated the thoughtful honeymoon decorations — it added a special touch to our stay. The complimentary Starbucks drinks were a pleasant surprise and definitely appreciated! One small hiccup was the air conditioning — due to the cold weather, it was turned off by default and we had to call reception to enable it. Thankfully, the staff responded promptly and resolved it quickly. Overall, a great stay with warm hospitality. Would definitely recommend!

+great location +good food +warm swimming pool +clean environment +free bikes to explore the beach area -using Starbucks drinks ads at the bar - but that is a simple coffee machine coffee with some syrups -I was several time told that that is not a family hotel with kids entertainment. That is not their focus. But they have disco for kids and other activities but every time entertainment managers tell us they got less then 3 kids for the activity so they can’t have that activity according to the rules, but I see families with kids still coming to the activity area and they got the same answer “Sorry small amount of kids”, so there were many kids in the hotel willing to join any sort of activities. Seems that managers are not willing to have any activities for kids at all. But again they told me that I don’t understand their concept.

The view from the hotel is amazing. You get a clear view of the beach along with a partial view of the mountains and the city which is amazing. There is a balcony so you can sit there and enjoy the view to your hearts content and this view does not get old or boring. The hotel is however far from the main city which is Kaleci or Lara beach and it takes a good 15 minute drive to get there which gets expensive by taxi. The hotel is big with a huge lobby and offer everything from a pool table to a spa. It has a patisserie which is part of the all inclusive and you can eat ice cream and other goodies there as well as relax in their lounges. The food and the constant snacks keep one full and happy. Pool is also amazing. All in all the hotel had a lot of things to offer and was definitely value for money. Rooms however were quite small.

We had an amazing stay. The best about this hotel is service! I haven’t seen hotel so far where all stuff are so professional, friendly and positive. Thanks so much for the hospitality for Bilal from main restaurant, who make our dining experience very comfortable. Very friendly and nice girls animators Sonya and Sultan, my baby felt very happy , they have really great energy. Also upon our checkin we had help from the guy, who was super nice and professional , unfortunately didn’t get his name. Other things we liked quality of food, especially the a la cart restaurant and tea coffee station. And WhatsApp support line was amazing, with Tugba helping us. What I didn’t like: 1) CATS! I love animals don’t get me wrong; but cats was everywhere. In the indoor pools pool beds on the top the towels, at the spa , I saw too many of them indoors. I love animals , but I don’t find hygienic. 2) hotel indoor pool was working only until 7 pm. Time felt limited , wish we could enjoy more at the evening time. Also temperature of water in kids pool was cooler then in main pool, both was a bit cold in my opinion, wish water was 1-2 degree warmer. 3) I felt like it was not enough stuff at the kids club , even though there wasn’t that much kids , workers had hard time balancing between kids going crazy. Also there was many toys but not enough interactive activities, like would be cool to have tent or small playhouse there for smaller kids.

The room is large and has a good view. The supermarket, restaurant and bar opposite are all within a five-minute walk. The hotel staff are young and polite. The only drawback is that the gym opens too late, at nine in the morning.

This is a chic hotel with excellent service. I was given a room on the 9th floor, a very beautiful view. The location is wonderful, next to the park, the Aquarium, the promenade. You can sunbathe near the pool, where there are wonderful sun loungers with pillows, you can go through the pool to the sea, the beach is free for hotel guests, namely a sun lounger. The first row, where the large beds, sofas are paid, an extra charge of about 1000 lira. In the room there was a dispenser with soap, shower gel, napkins, also a stand with body cream, shampoo, balm, toothbrush paste, washcloth, cotton pads, sticks, shower cap, replenished every day. Water is given two 1.5 liter bottles. Breakfasts and dinners are very good, for every taste. At breakfast filter coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice. Thank you very much to the hotel for the excellent service. I have stayed many times, and I consider it one of the best.

The location is ok since you can walk anywhere you need or get there by a car. The spa is a great option to relax. Breakfast is pretty good, diverse and some options change every day. Sorry to say, but coffee was 2/5. What I didn’t get was a lack of bath robes (come on, it’s a 5* hotel) and cigarette smell everywhere, even though I stayed in a non-smoking room

I stayed there 3 nights with my friend. It was nice experience. The location was good.It walked 15 mins to MarkAntalya shopping mall and the old town bazaar just walked 25mins by the hotel. There were so many shops nearby. We felt great there. The first day the room was small and warm as face to sun after 1pm till to evening. It was too hot inside the room but we requested to change other room. The second room was spacious and cosy. The breakfast was local simple food but it was good and healthy. Overall it was good, cleaned and staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel staff is very nice and welcoming. The hotel consists of several buildings and it very much depends, where you get the room. The building with the nicest open view to the sea is under renovation now. My “seaview” room was more the palm trees view, as the floor was not high enough. And there was constant noise from the ventilation system in a different building. The doors are not sound isolated, so everything in the corridor is heard very loudly in the room. The room itself is nice and clean, but on the small side.
