This was the first five-star hotel in Guilin, and its location is absolutely superb. The Sun and Moon Pagodas are right outside the entrance, and Elephant Trunk Hill and Zhengyang Road Food Street are just a few minutes' walk away – truly the best choice for getting around. There were many international tour groups and conference groups, so breakfast was busy but well-organized, with a rich selection of Western food. There's a travel agency downstairs, making it super convenient to book a Li River cruise. The photo shoot on the second floor was particularly amazing; it's not like those low-quality roadside stalls you find elsewhere. We took some fantastic, high-quality photos from the 17th-floor observation deck, and the price was very reasonable. A special thank you to the lobby manager – despite a minor issue with the facilities, they handled it professionally and efficiently, resolving our problem beautifully.

I took my family out for a holiday on March 3rd, and I didn't expect to be so pleasantly surprised. Even before we arrived, a hotel staff member called to ask about our room preferences. When we got there, Duty Manager Xiao Peng (小彭) greeted us. She immediately responded to our needs and, knowing we were there to see the festivities, even recommended we check out the March 3rd events in Guilin. Thumbs up to her! The room arrangement was also fantastic, with an unobstructed view of the Li River.

The river view room offers stunning, touchable views of Elephant Trunk Hill right from the chaise lounge – it's an incredible, hidden photo spot, surprisingly close! The afternoon tea at the panoramic restaurant was also delightful and perfectly to our liking. The Two Rivers and Four Lakes pier is very close to the hotel, making getting around incredibly convenient. Step outside and you're right on the vibrant, spring-like Binjiang Road.

The rooms feature an Italian minimalist style, complete with a King Koil mattress, smart toilet, and Bluetooth speaker. The large bathtub by the window is absolutely amazing – soaking in it while enjoying the view melts all your fatigue away. 🤗 🏛️ Artistic Dome – Breathtaking Design The lobby boasts a dome made of 14,000 glazed ginkgo leaves, like bringing a starry sky indoors. Every photo you take looks like it's from an art gallery! The overall stay was okay but not somewhere I would rush back to. The service from the majority of the stop on reception was poor. Despite requesting a non smoking room, my parents were given a room that stank of smoke. It took them nearly 4 hours to get a room that was appropriate. Initially we were promised a new room in 30 minutes. However, the room they were given was ‘clean’ without a door that locked and plug sockets that didn’t work. Their initial response was to use extension leads in place of the plugs (see photos attached) and repair the door which still wasn’t done by the time they moved rooms for 3rd time. To get the room changed, again, my husband had to to go reception and request an upgrade with access to the club lounge to the inconvenience caused (as we lost our first afternoon). The hotel permitted this request but honestly their attitude leaves a lot to be desired and they clearly don’t like foreigners as they were talking about us and didn’t think we could understand. The facilities were okay. The gym and indoor pool were great. The spa is expensive given that there are many local spas just a few minutes away in a taxi. The outdoor swimming pool had no water in it so we couldn’t use it. The buffet restaurant was good. The palace restaurant was very chaotic and not somewhere I would choose to eat again. We liked Guilin but we’ll be staying somewhere else next time unfortunately.

Traveling with my family, the location was incredibly good. There were snack streets right outside, and it was a short walk to Elephant Trunk Hill, Sun and Moon Pagodas, and Duxiu Peak. Even though it's in the city center, it was very quiet at night and not noisy at all. The room was extremely clean and tidy, and there's a gym upstairs that you can use anytime, which is great. There's also a self-service laundry room next door. Parking at the hotel's back entrance was very convenient; my driving skills aren't great, so I asked their dedicated attendant to help me park. Overall, the value for money is quite high. It's just a shame that we encountered rain during this trip, so we didn't get to see the lush green mountains and clear waters while cruising the Li River, but at least we got to experience what they call the 'misty Li River'.

This hotel boasts an excellent location, just a few minutes' walk along a scenic path to the ancient town, with the beautiful Li River winding by. The courtyard is comfortable, relaxing, and offers lovely views. The guest rooms are new, spotlessly clean, and the river view rooms are spacious and bright. The bedding is comfortable, allowing you to enjoy the picturesque river scenery right from your bed. The rooftop 'Sky Mirror' is perfect for photos and watching the sunrise and sunset. They have both Chinese and Western restaurants, with a rich breakfast spread and delightful afternoon tea. Of course, the service was also exceptional; the front desk and restaurant staff were warm, attentive, professional, and thoughtful. We booked the Elegant Duplex for 2 adults and 2 teens but it was rather inconvenient as there was only 1 wash basin at a tiny corner (see pic) and the bathroom didn't have any dry area to place clothes to change into hence it was quite unpleasant for us so we asked to change room as we had booked for 3 nights. The receptionist recommended us 2 separate rooms with a top up of RMB 300+ but the owner was kind enough to move us to a 2 bedroom annex with a proper bathroom which was available the next day for free! We are very thankful for her kindness. The service staff all speaks good English. Breakfast was a simple set- western or Chinese. The view outside the hotel is really beautiful (see pic) and we love the cycling path just outside the hotel.

We stayed one night at The Grand Link hotel a wuick stop in Guilin before we moved on to the Longji rice terraces. Check in was smooth, passports copies taken paid an extra deposit to be refunded when we left. Our room was average, dark decor and very minimal lighting - which come dark this was abit of a nightmare! Lots of damp areas in the decor in the main bedroom and bathroom walls. The room did have everything we needed but glad we only had one night here. The children enjoyed an hour in the pool, a welcome break from the heat. Check out wasn’t the best, we got up at 5am to be on our way to Longji by 6am but when we went to check out the man asked us to wait 5 minutes for the room to be checked for the deposit to be refunded - but this in the end took 35 minutes! I’m just glad we weren’t up early for a flight or something like or I would have panicked more about missing it with how long it took!

An excellent stay! First, since I was traveling with elderly family members, the lovely lady at the front desk kindly upgraded our room for free. The room was huge, the facilities were brand new, and it even had a bathtub, which made my mother's stay very comfortable. Second, the hotel's location is superb. It's just a 10-minute walk to Elephant Trunk Hill and the Sun and Moon Pagodas (part of the Two Rivers and Four Lakes scenic area). During the day, we hiked Elephant Trunk Hill and took photos with the 'elephant' and Guanyin's vase-shaped hill. At night, the illuminated Sun and Moon Pagodas were incredibly beautiful, and the air was so fresh. Just across the street is the famous A Gan Restaurant, and a 15-minute walk brings you to Haitan Changfen, which always has a long queue! Third, the hotel breakfast was incredibly rich, with delicious rice noodles and siumai – no need to go out for breakfast. Finally, parking at the hotel was very convenient, and they even prepared ginger date tea and monk fruit tea for us. All in all, I want to thank the hotel and the front desk staff. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family!

The hotel also has a breakfast restaurant, a gym, and a laundry room, so the facilities are quite comprehensive. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, you can't go wrong choosing this place!
