What is KL MRT? Hours & Frequency
KL MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) is Kuala Lumpur’s main modern rail system, operated by Rapid KL. It has 2 full lines: Kajang Line & Putrajaya Line, covering most key areas in KL, Selangor and Putrajaya.
KL MRT Operating Hours
- Standard Daily Hours: 6:00 AM – 12:00 AM (midnight), including weekends and public holidays.
- Last Train Notes: Terminal stations (Kwasa Damansara, Kajang, Putrajaya Sentral) dispatch the final train at 12:00 AM sharp. Last train times for intermediate stations range from 12:00 AM to 12:30 AM, depending on the line and station location.

KL MRT fares are calculated based on travel distance, with multiple payment options to suit tourists and regular commuters:
- Single Journey Token
- Ideal for: One-off trips, tourists with short stays
- Fare Range: RM 1.20 (≈ USD 0.25) minimum to RM 6.20 (≈ USD 1.30) maximum for a single trip within the MRT network
- Key Details: Includes a refundable RM 0.20 deposit, returned when you exit at your destination station. Valid only on the day of purchase, with entry required within 30 minutes of buying. Available at all self-service ticketing machines (accept cash, debit/credit cards, and Touch 'n Go).
- Touch 'n Go Card
- Ideal for: Multi-day trips, tourists using multiple transit modes (MRT, LRT, monorail, buses)
- Card Cost: RM 10 (≈ USD 2.10) non-refundable issuance fee (no initial load value included). Minimum top-up amount is RM 10.
- Fare Benefit: 2% discount on standard MRT fares compared to single journey tokens.
- Where to Buy/Top Up: MRT station customer service counters, self-service ticketing machines, 7-Eleven/Family Mart convenience stores across KL, and KLIA/KLIA2 airport outlets.

How to Take the KL MRT
This simple, tourist-friendly guide ensures a smooth ride on the KL MRT:
- Plan Your Route: Use the official KL MRT map to confirm your origin and destination stations, interchange points (if any), and estimated fare.
- Prepare Your Payment Method: Purchase a single journey token from self-service ticketing machines (select your destination station to see the total fare) or use a pre-purchased/top-up Touch 'n Go card.
- Enter the Fare Gates: Tap your Touch 'n Go card or single journey token once on the contactless reader at the entry gate. Keep your token safe – you will need it to exit.
- Board the Train: Follow platform signs to the correct boarding area for your line and travel direction. Wait behind the yellow safety line, and let alighting passengers exit first before boarding.
- Ride & Transfer (If Needed): Listen to on-board audio announcements and check on-board screens for upcoming stations. For transfers between MRT lines or to LRT/monorail services, follow the "Interchange" signs – you do not need to exit the fare gates or buy a new ticket for integrated rail transfers.
- Exit the Station: At your destination station, tap your Touch 'n Go card on the exit gate reader, or insert your single journey token into the gate’s token slot to open the barrier and exit.

It's walking away to Petronas twin tower, perhaps 5 minutes walk. Restaurant in front of hotel, muslim cemetery behind the hotel, parking lot beside the hotel on the left side, on going construction on the right side of the hotel. While the view is nice, the hotel is quite a distance from the city center, especially if you want to see the Kuala Lumpur night skyline. There was no hot water, so I had to shower with cold water. The hairdryer is very weak; I recommend bringing your own. Unfortunately, the Twin Towers are not visible from the pool, which was a major disappointment as that was my main reason for choosing this hotel. Overall my stay at Pacific Express Hotel Central Market was perfect.(except the water heater is not function well, water flow hot for a while then cold again rm8521), other than that the room is spacious, with small refrigerator, nothing to compare with such nice room and reasonable price.
The unrivaled location, convenient dining choices combine to create a truly wonderful living experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kuala Lumpur, and I will definitely choose to stay here again.

I already sent an email for confirmation of the extra bed along with other few questions to the hotel on the same week i booked on trip which was 3 weeks prior to the date i check in. But on the day itself, the receptionist told me they will check with the housekeeping team. When i got into the room, no extra bed installed so i saw that the sofa is a sofa bed & tried to install it. It was dusty & definitely not an extra bed i paid for so i called the front office for confirmation, they replied again with “we’ll check with housekeeping “. I waited for more than 20mins still no callback. Got tired of waiting, i told my mum to call them again then i went to the bathroom. I turned on the water in the bathtub because there was debris & hair in it. Guess what, the water didn’t go down the drain hole, i tried pressing the lid a few times to create a pressure only then the water slowly started to flow. The location is perfect for us since Lalaport is right nearby , and there's connecting bridge from the hotel.

The food in the executive lounge was great, with many selections available and unlimited coffee. It was also less crowded during the breakfast buffet. The two staff members, Sir Rahman and Mam Selvi, were very helpful and prompt in assisting us during breakfast. Sir Tafo, who worked on the evening refreshments , was very friendly and pleasant with our special son. I really appreciate him being so patient and accommodating.

Overall, this hotel is pretty good. There's a mall right downstairs, making it convenient for dining.
The breakfast selection is quite extensive, but it can get crowded.
The swimming pool is outdoors and offers views of both the Petronas Towers and KL Tower.
The hotel's cleanliness is excellent throughout.

Our family of 4 stayed at the 3 bedroom suite which was actually big enough to house 6 people. The rooms were spacious, the living room was comfy for the family to hang out and the kitchen was well equipped with cutleries and all things we needed. Cleanliness was acceptable, no complains. The pool and gym is great! The location is around all the bars, so the streets may be abit sleazy at night. But it doesnt really bother us. Only takes about 8-10min walk to Bukit Bintang shopping belt and mrt so its good. But because of the popular location, many GRAB cars dont want to pick us up due to the heavy traffic. The Pavilion Mall is right across the street. It's a 10-minute walk via the skybridge from Pavilion to KLCC and the Petronas Twin Towers.
The room hygiene and service were five-star.
Breakfast was average, not very good. I even found a hair in my noodles, which was disgusting.
Summary: Highly recommended for its incredibly convenient location. I recommend the signature pork tripe noodles at Bamboo Noodle House on B1 of Pavilion, and the signature shredded chicken and prawn noodles at Nanyang Restaurant.
Also, Tiffany & Co. at Pavilion is about 15% cheaper than in China.
Plus, Chanel cosmetics are slightly cheaper (2-5%) than at duty-free shops like Sun Dream.
And finally, the last picture shows the bill from Bah Kut Teh at Bao Xiang Lou on the 4th floor. The taste was mediocre, and it wasn't cheap, with an additional 10% service charge and 10% tax. Not recommended.FromUS$124

Although it's called an apartment, it's managed like a hotel, with a front desk, room service, disposable toiletries, and even daily housekeeping!
It's no secret that labor costs are expensive abroad. Most apartment-style B&Bs don't provide daily housekeeping for consecutive stays, let alone personal amenities. But Sfera has it all! ~For me, after a long day of traveling, returning to a hotel exhausted and seeing a clean, tidy room and bedding 🛏️ is truly a joy and comfort~
My room had two bedrooms (one large, one standard) and three bathrooms with a kitchen and bathtub 🛁, perfect for two generations. I bought some pre-made meals from KK downstairs, heated them up in the microwave or oven (the hotel provides its own), and enjoyed them in my room. The elevator requires a room card, so takeout orders are placed on the takeout stand at the front desk on the first floor (G). Unlike in China, where robots deliver food, you need to go downstairs to pick it up. Luggage storage is available at the front desk after check-out, but it's on a rotating schedule and often unmanned. If you need urgent help, someone will come out only after ringing the bell. 😐
The hotel's swimming pool is on the 5th floor, and the gym is on the top floor (S floor). Access is available from 8 AM to 10 PM with your room card. They're large and clean. The pool has separate areas for children and deeper water. The gym has a terrace with a direct view of the Petronas Twin Towers or the TV Tower, perfect for family outings.
Although it's close to the Petronas Twin Towers, it's still quite a distance to walk. It's a 5-minute walk to the MRT (Light Rail) station, and a taxi takes about 10 minutes to get to KLCC or Sungei Wang Plaza (around NT$20), which I personally find quite convenient. Next door is Summersuites, which also offers apartments, but you get what you pay for. The next door is a private landlord, while this is a hotel. The comparison makes it clear why it's so expensive. Overall a comfortable 2-night stay at Travelodge KLCC. Satisfied with the hotel cleanliness, no dirty stains on the bedsheets, mattress, or blanket. The hotel is within walking distance of Chinatown, you can find a lot of restaurants to choose from. It is also located near the Pasar Seni LRT/MRT station and Pasar Seni Bus Hub, very easy to get around.

There are two towers, North and South, with the pool located in the South tower. They also have a coin laundry. TLDR: Ceylonz is a great hotel, but the provider (Five Senses) is not. Book a different provider if you want to stay at Ceylonz.

Initial room conditions:
When we first entered the room we encountered these things:
- Leftover jacket from the previous guest(?)
- stains on the chairs
- water stains on the wardrobe
- dead ants in the wardrobe
- a flickering light
Service:
Because we chose to stay for 7 nights, we had a 1 free make-up room offered to us which we appreciated. However when we flagged up the issues we found on the first day, they gave us a make-up room on the second day and consumed our free make-up room without our choice. We wanted to use it in the middle of the trip like the 4th day. Because of this we had no toilet paper, tissue box was empty, towels were not replaced.
After the 2nd day, they no longer replied to our texts when we enquired about using the sports lounge, requesting a makeup room, getting more toilet paper. Very bad service.
After their make-up room, they removed the jacket and cleaned the seat stains, but they did not fix the light or clean the dead ants in the wardrobe. We understand fixing a light might not be possible but the ants were easily removable and we did it ourselves after they left. It felt like they were cutting corners as they also did not replace our tissue box, clean the dead ants or clean the water stains on the wardrobe.
Ceylonz:

- the amenities provided are not the same for every room, the last time we came there was a water dispenser and pull-out kitchen, this time there isn't (same five senses at ceylonz, same room type)

- the walls are relatively soundproof so you cannot hear other rooms but the door is not and the hallway is very audible from inside the room, we can hear people chatting, checking in, pulling luggages

We're pretty picky, and we stayed here for the Sammi Cheng concert. The hotel service was absolutely top-notch, fantastic! The only minor hiccup was a slight communication issue between the booking agent and the hotel, which delayed our check-in by about 30 minutes. However, both Trip.com and the hotel offered compensation, which was appreciated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and there was absolutely no noise, which was a definite improvement over the Guangzhou Four Seasons. The room was also impeccably clean and tidy – a big shout-out to the cleaning staff! I'll definitely try to choose Four Seasons for my future travels.FromUS$389

The room was clean and comfortable but the temperature control was unsatisfactory. Despite multiple attempts to adjust it, the room remained at an uncomfortably warm, room temperature.
While the breakfast selection itself was adequate, the 40-minute wait to be seated was unacceptable and reflects poor crowd management.
Furthermore, scheduling the café’s renovation from 1st to 5th May was a poor decision. Doing so during a long weekend and rain rave festive period significantly impacted guest experience and contributed to the delays.FromUS$99

The twin towers were clearly and fully visible from the room. The lobby is on the 2nd floor. We stayed in a Twin Tower Suite, which wasn't very spacious, but it did come with access to the executive lounge on the 32nd floor. However, we spent most of our time having breakfast on the 5th floor, as the variety there was much better. The 32nd-floor lounge didn't offer much in terms of food, though it did have the advantage of a twin tower view while dining [crying emoji].
The hotel is very close to KLCC, and there's a shuttle service available, which is very convenient. It's a bit further from Pavilion, about a 15-minute walk.
Now, about the booking experience. The price I paid online already included tourism tax and service tax. However, when I checked in, the front desk told me they wouldn't charge a deposit but then asked me to pay the tourism tax. Luckily, I had printed out a bilingual version of my booking confirmation, which clearly showed that the hotel fees I'd already paid included the service tax. After that, the front desk asked for a 1000 MYR deposit, so I gave her ten 100-denomination cash notes. Then, at checkout, they tried to charge me service tax again! I had to pull out my booking confirmation once more. The front desk staff took a photo of it and then gave me twenty 50-denomination cash notes as a refund.
Overall, the hotel's view is good, and the location is decent. The concierge on the 1st floor was helpful, but the rest of the service was just average.FromUS$139

This Ritz-Carlton is rumored to be the 'floor' (benchmark/standard) for all Ritz-Carltons globally, offering excellent value for money among Kuala Lumpur's five-star hotels. Firstly, the hotel environment is absolutely magnificent, with a classic European style. The service was also quite good; the front desk even upgraded our room type upon check-in. The room facilities were well-equipped too. During our stay, a service attendant would come for turndown service every evening and even brought snacks. My friend's room was quite noisy, and they were promptly moved to another room. The hotel's location is also fantastic, very close to Pavilion, and there's a dedicated covered walkway directly connecting it to Starhill Gallery. Of course, there were some drawbacks. For example, the breakfast was quite disappointing, to the point that we preferred to eat out on subsequent days. Additionally, the soundproofing in the rooms was not very good.FromUS$136

Our family stayed at Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur from 13 to 18 June 2026, and once again, the hotel never disappoints. From the moment we made our pre-arrival request until the day we checked out, everything was handled with exceptional professionalism and genuine hospitality.
A very special thank you to Liz, who personally contacted me via WhatsApp before our arrival to coordinate every detail of our 5-day stay. She arranged our airport pick-up, coordinated with the front desk, and ensured that our Family Room and Deluxe Double Room were on the same floor, which made travelling with our three young children so much easier. Her dedication and attention to detail were truly outstanding.
A heartfelt thank you to Anna from the front desk for organising a beautiful birthday surprise for my wife. The birthday cake, balloons, and the staff who came to our room made it an unforgettable celebration.
Thank you to Ratney at the front desk for the warm welcome during check-in and the excellent service at departure. Ratney kindly arranged a late check-out as our Singapore Airlines flight was in the evening and coordinated our transportation with the concierge, allowing us to enjoy our last day without rushing.
A special thank you to Noorin from the restaurant team, who went above and beyond on our first morning by arranging for the breakfast buffet to be delivered to our room after our teenage children overslept and missed the buffet timing. That thoughtful gesture meant so much to our family.
Finally, thank you to Fareez from the concierge team for carefully planning our departure to avoid Kuala Lumpur’s peak-hour traffic and for assisting us with all our luggage. Thanks to his excellent planning, our journey to the airport was smooth and stress-free.
Beyond the outstanding staff, every aspect of our stay was excellent. The room service food was delicious, the housekeeping team kept our rooms spotless every day, and they happily provided fresh towels whenever we requested them without any hesitation. The laundry service was efficient, and the breakfast buffet offered an impressive variety of delicious dishes with plenty of variety to suit every member of our family.
It is the people who truly make this hotel special. Their warmth, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile are the reason we keep returning.

Tho they upgraded me but i’m still not satisfied with their room
1. We didn’t know we have turn on heater to shower .. end up showering in cold water damn freezing cold then when i called guest service she told me i have to stitch on the heater 🙄
2. The quilt cover has red stains not sure if it’s blood stains .. damn horrible felt so uncomfortable covering myself with it .. dun tell me when the cleaners change bedsheet that time she/he didn’t see or saw but just dun care? So this your hotel standard?
3. Breakfast was lousy .. it’s vegetarian food .. non meat .. the siew mai really CMI think i only ate prata eggs and toast .. So many people in my group was complaining too .. Haloooo everyone is a vegetarian ok!FromUS$66

Hotel location is near to various nice eateries. Is walkable to ICC Pudu local breakfast market which is a good place to experience an authentic, old school Malaysian-Chinese breakfast in KL. The hotel is considered clean and well equipped with what is needed in a room. However, one of our room was smelly. It maybe caused by someone smoking next door or previous guest has been smoking in the room. We got both rooms for non-smoking but yet one of it was a smelly room.

I had a wonderful stay at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur and it truly exceeded my expectations.
