How to Take the KL MRT

How to Take the KL MRT

This simple, tourist-friendly guide ensures a smooth ride on the KL MRT:

  1. Plan Your Route: Use the official KL MRT map to confirm your origin and destination stations, interchange points (if any), and estimated fare.
  2. Prepare Your Payment Method: Purchase a single journey token from self-service ticketing machines (select your destination station to see the total fare) or use a pre-purchased/top-up Touch 'n Go card.
  3. Enter the Fare Gates: Tap your Touch 'n Go card or single journey token once on the contactless reader at the entry gate. Keep your token safe – you will need it to exit.
  4. Board the Train: Follow platform signs to the correct boarding area for your line and travel direction. Wait behind the yellow safety line, and let alighting passengers exit first before boarding.
  5. Ride & Transfer (If Needed): Listen to on-board audio announcements and check on-board screens for upcoming stations. For transfers between MRT lines or to LRT/monorail services, follow the "Interchange" signs – you do not need to exit the fare gates or buy a new ticket for integrated rail transfers.
  6. Exit the Station: At your destination station, tap your Touch 'n Go card on the exit gate reader, or insert your single journey token into the gate’s token slot to open the barrier and exit.

This is an older hotel. You'll need to bring your own universal adapter. It's just over 100 meters to the Petronas Twin Towers on foot. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and it's very convenient for attractions and the subway. Chinatown is also within walking distance.

A historic gem in the heart of Bukit Bintang I’ve always admired this stunning building whenever I passed through Bukit Bintang and finally had the chance to stay for a night. Pros: Location: Super convenient as it’s within walking distance to Pavilion Mall. Parking: Guests can park for a reasonable flat rate of RM 5. Atmosphere: The building architecture is beautiful, and the lobby is truly grand and impressive. Pool: The swimming pool is large and was one of my favorite parts of the stay. Cons/Points to Note: Aging: As it’s an older hotel, you can definitely see some signs of age that are hard to hide. Pool Hours: The pool is only open from 8 AM to 8 PM, which is a bit disappointing compared to other hotels that stay open until 10 or 11 PM. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet didn't quite meet my expectations, though it wasn't bad.

We truly enjoyed my stay at PARK ROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. The location is fantastic and made everything so convenient for us, whether it was shopping, exploring, or just getting around the city. What really made the stay special was the wonderful service from the entire team. The door staff greeted us with warm smiles, the front desk handled our check-in smoothly and kindly, and the buffet staff were always friendly and attentive. Everyone we met made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. Our room was spacious, spotless and very well maintained. Housekeeping did an amazing job everything was clean, neat, and thoughtfully prepared. It really made us feel relaxed and at home. The level of cleanliness was excellent and definitely stood out. We also enjoyed the food, which had a nice variety and was very satisfying. Overall, the experience felt pleasant, comfortable, and welcoming in every way. Thank you to the whole team for such a lovely stay. We left with great memories and would happily return again in the future.

The room was big, spacious, clean & everything looks well-maintained. Unfortunately, all the service staff at the lobby that we encountered were lacking. There wasn’t any queue at check in when we arrived at around 1-2pm, we paid for room deposit, requested for our rooms to be on the same floor, but the staff did not respond to our request, merely just told us to come back to collect our room keys at 3pm. We deposited four bags at the lobby but found out that they only kept two of our bags, leaving the other two on the ground near the counter, without any tags or label. Until we have to remind the staff to bring in the bags & put them together with the other two bags. Even so, the staff came back to us & added two more bags to our collection slip, when in fact we only have total of four bags. At around 4pm, we went back to collect our room keys, thinking that the process would be quick & smooth, since earlier we’ve already checked in & paid deposit. But the staff took a long time to figure out that we have already checked in, despite us telling her that we came earlier on & paid the room deposit. After handing out the room cards, the staff did not bother to explain the facilities available, or inform us about the WIFI login, even though the counter wasn’t even busy. Also, we requested again if we could have our rooms on the same floor, but she just ignored the request & didn’t bother to inform us that it wasn’t possible. I’m not sure if all these issues are due to proficiency in English, but if the staff could at least listen & respond to guests’ situation & requests, that would make our experience much better, considering this is a 5-star international hotel.

Located mainly in the Chinatown area, this hotel is mainly for indian and chinese guests. At my stay there were construction works around the building in two sides, so room was very noisy and had to ask for a room on a different side of the building. The second room was a bit better. Expect a lot of coming and going by chinese guests on the corridor and loud speaking during the night hours. Breakfast is very poor, not worth the money at all. Overall, i am not satisfied with this hotel, not even for their relatively lower prices.

The room is clean & comfortable. The breakfast is amazing too. Love the stay. Would definitely come again for a short staycation. The only thing i did not like is they only provide valet parking, no normal hotel parking available. so they keep the key when we’re at the hotel which i particularly don’t like. I wish they provide normal hotel parking where i can park by myself & keep the car key. I don’t like others driving my car tho they’re good valet driver. But just for the info, the valet drivers are all very nice & it only costed rm17 for one night valet parking, it’s actually convenient. It’s cheap & easy for those who don’t mind others driving their car & keeping the car key. Overall hotel experience, 9/10. Minus 1 for the no normal hotel parking.

Hotel Review Location: Excellent—just across the road from Kampung Baru food area, very convenient for foodies. Check-in: Allowed early check-in at 1:30 PM despite 3 PM standard time due to room availability. Much appreciated. Staff: Special mention to the staff member resembling celebrity singer Hafiz—excellent service, kept everything smooth and entertaining. Kudos. Room (1619): Connecting room arrangement was inconvenient; needed to prop the door open (1619,1620) TV in father's room not functioning (1618) Major issue: Strong sewage smell in bathroom—disturbing and needs immediate attention Toiletries: Initially not refilled—no lotion, body wash in my room; no shower gel or conditioner in dad's room. Staff replaced with hand-packed amenities. Appreciated the gesture. Food & Dining: Breakfast buffet: RM37.10—excellent value; surprisingly good nasi goreng (first time I enjoyed it) In-room dining: Nasi Goreng Tamu was good, but sambal prawn was too sweet Hotel breakfast preferred over outside options—area dominated by nasi padang, which isn't to our taste Overall: Okay stay. Responsive service on toiletries and excellent staff, but bathroom odor and room setup issues need fixing.

Here’s your full review combined and polished: The hotel is conveniently located near the city centre, making it easy to get a taxi or Grab to KLCC. Whether you’re visiting for a holiday or a business trip, the location works well. Right next to the hotel, there’s a 7-Eleven and a shopping mall, so getting food and daily essentials is very convenient. For the price per night, the room is incredibly good value. It’s spacious, clean, and suitable for families too. The lobby looks great, and overall the stay feels very worthwhile for what you pay. The hotel also has its own restaurant and a swimming pool, which are nice added perks — although I didn’t get the chance to try them. I would definitely come back again.

It’s our third time at Sunway Putra. But all in good faith, it’s most likely our last time here. We’ve always booked superior rooms. The first time, a very spacious room with a couch, working desk, huge bed and a couch and a balcony, second time, room was smaller, but I still booked a superior room, third and most recent time, room was super small, but it was still a superior room we booked. Sunway Putra hotel is a really good hotel. The rooms are cozy, service is good. We love it there. But with what happened with the rooms over time, I have been left confused as what to expect for the buck I’m paying. I still would recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay here. The breakfast buffet is amazing. Staff are nice and welcoming. And one of the best features is that it’s attached to the Sunway Putra Mall. The rooms also has a nice view of the city skyline which you won’t get bored at looking.

Stayed here for one night and honestly had a great experience. The biggest advantage of this place is definitely the location — very close to Bukit Bintang, food places, convenience stores, and major shopping malls. Everything is within walking distance, which made the trip very convenient. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Since it is a serviced suite, the extra space and facilities made the stay feel more relaxing compared to a normal hotel room. The bed was comfortable, and the room was generally quiet, allowing us to rest well after a long day. The staff were polite and helpful during check-in and throughout the stay. The facilities, especially the swimming pool were clean and well maintained. Parking was also quite convenient.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights, and there were so many great restaurants nearby. Every day, I went to Baba Can Cook, a Michelin-starred restaurant. The only real downside was how incredibly noisy it was at night. Even as a heavy sleeper, I found it hard to bear. From around 10 PM until 3 AM, the bars outside blasted music, and it was deafening. My travel companion couldn't even sleep with earplugs in. Be warned! The breakfast was just so-so, not much variety. However, across the street at Gurney Plaza, they sold fresh durian every day, which was pretty good. Also, the TV in my room mysteriously turned on by itself in the middle of the night for two consecutive nights. In between being woken up by the bar noise, I quietly turned it off. On the third night, I had to unplug the TV beforehand to avoid this strange occurrence. I was on the 13th floor in the innermost room, so I'm not sure if other rooms experience the same issues, but this is for your reference.

We're pretty picky, and we stayed here for the Sammi Cheng concert. The hotel service was absolutely top-notch, fantastic! The only minor hiccup was a slight communication issue between the booking agent and the hotel, which delayed our check-in by about 30 minutes. However, both Trip.com and the hotel offered compensation, which was appreciated. Great stay overall with an amazing atmosphere and location. The hotel is just a few blocks from key attractions like Pavilion Mall, Jalan Alor for street food at night, and Suria KLCC by the Petronas Twin Towers, making it very convenient to get around. The view from the room is a highlight, with a clear look at the Petronas Twin Towers, which light up beautifully at night. The hotel vibe itself is fantastic, and the infinity pool is a standout, offering views of Merdeka 118 and KL Tower, with even a partial view of the Petronas Twin Towers from certain spots. The room comes with decent amenities, including a small couch and a complimentary mini bar (non-alcoholic) with water, Coke, Sprite, mango juice, and orange juice, which is a nice touch. The rainfall shower has excellent water pressure and is very enjoyable, though the drainage could be improved as water can pool slightly on the floor. I was so pleased with the location of this hotel, it’s in the klcc park area and across from Patronas tower, if you’re trying to avoid the humid / a sudden downpour, you can use the convention center enclosed hallways and then go down an escalator to reach the Suria mall via an underpass, you can even walk all the way to Bukit bintang using this underpass, just make sure you go straight and don’t turn left for suria. If you don’t feel like walking a buggy awaits you to drop you off at klcc suria mall, which is really convenient. I had a very pleasant check in with Amandra who was informative and lovely. The room was spacious and clean, bed comfortable and pillows so soft, I loved sinking into them after a long day of touring ( getting lost mostly) The bathroom was clean but I think special attention should be paid to the shower area, that can be cleaned by soaking it in bleach or some detergent as there was moss on the floor and water stains on the door, above the shower door is a gap that tiny flies come through and dirt falls into the bathtub besides that the room smelled good and there was no sewer smells from the bathroom. I would definitely come back to this hotel when I visit again, perhaps a better room next time with a view and a hope that shower areas are better tended too, I’ve found it lacking in almost every hotel I went to in Kuala Lumpur now. Langkawi seems to be better in this regard. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Being right in the heart of Bukit Bintang meant I was just steps away from Pavilion KL and the city’s best dining spots, making my time there incredibly convenient. The hotel itself perfectly balanced that central energy with a refined, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff consistently went out of their way to ensure I felt right at home from the moment I arrived. I was particularly impressed by the size of my room, which felt like a private sanctuary with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the vibrant city skyline. Every part of my experience, from the extensive breakfast selection to a relaxing afternoon spent by the pool, felt high-end and well-coordinated. It was the perfect home base for my trip, offering both the luxury I wanted and the accessibility I needed to make the most of Kuala Lumpur.

Service: There's a front desk, making check-in and check-out very convenient. Environment: It's 400 meters from the subway station, a 15-minute walk to Pavilion KL, and other attractions are also nearby. Facilities: The hotel doesn't provide disposable toiletries or slippers, but it does have a washing machine. Hygiene: The hygiene is quite poor. The bathroom had a strange smell, and there were especially many cockroaches, countless cockroaches.

Except for the distance away from the mrt station, the hotel has all the essential facilities and amenities to be considered 'Great'. The hotel room is clean and well maintained, with the cleaning service well carried out.

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, very close to both the Petronas Twin Towers and Pavilion Mall. It rained on our second day, but the hotel has a skybridge directly connected to the mall, so we didn't even need an umbrella! The breakfast and bars are also excellent, especially the rooftop bar. You get a direct view of the Twin Towers, and the visual effect is stunning. There's a handsome Malaysian waiter named Yugesh at the bar who recommended several super delicious cocktails to us, and they were all great value for money. On the day we left, I accidentally knocked over a shower gel bottle while rushing to check out. When we checked out, the two handsome guys at the front desk kept asking if we were hurt and said not to worry about the bottle. It really warmed my heart – the service at a five-star hotel truly is a cut above the rest! 👍👍

Flora by Crossroads Hotel is in a very good and convenient location, which makes it easy for travelers who are always on the go. However, the room cleanliness could be improved. The tiles had visible mold, the bed sheets had stains, and the window did not appear to be properly cleaned. On a positive note, the receptionist was very nice, respectful, and accommodating. Overall, if you are traveling, spending most of your time outside, and simply need a place to store your belongings and rest for a while, this hotel can still be a practical option.
