The hotel felt very safe which was nice as a solo female traveler, although my experience in China as a whole has felt safe. I like that you can only access your floor if you have a room key for the given floor. Also, the large open concept makes all doors to rooms visible from any given point which also makes it feel safe. Doormen to open all doors in the lobby area which is really nice and they bring your luggage to the room. The hotel slippers are the BEST I’ve ever used, not like regular hotel slippers. Ai soft and comfortable. One thing I didn’t like was the large deposit (around $300USD) they needed for the room upon arrival, but it was fine. I’m just not used to that in China. The only downside is that some things need updating…you can tell the hotel is pretty old and with time, a hotel room can only feel so clean. Overall it was as clean as possible given it looks like it’s been a while since they have renovated. Still super clean I’m just picky! I would definitely stay here again. If you want a true “Chinese feel” while staying in Beijing this won’t be the place, but as someone living in China wanting a different feel, it was great. It felt as though I was in Europe somewhere. The concierge spoke English and were always helpful and attentive. The power outlets are older but they provided adapters. The bedside adapter was great, but the other ones in the common area and bathroom i would not use again. I plugged in my smart ring charger in the bathroom and it shorted and shocked me when touching the opposite end of the charger away from the outlet. My hand felt tingly for a few minutes but went away and I was fine. Overall my experience was very positive. I think if they did some minor renovations to modernize a bit, this hotel would be perfect.FromSEK 1,358

The overall environment is excellent. Manager Ella helped me choose a room with a great view when I checked in. The view of the Second Ring Road is quite good; at night, it's just a sea of red taillights, which really shows how much traffic there is. The room was a bit dry, but that's generally how the weather is in Beijing. Inside the room, everything was great – very clean, and the attention to detail was impressive. The hotel breakfast was also fantastic, with lots of variety and delicious options.FromSEK 1,205

I came to Beijing for a visa application, and the front desk staff provided a super 5-star service level. They arranged a quiet room for my check-in and helped me store my luggage after check-out. Printing documents was also no problem. The warm service from Zhang Heyao at the front desk left a deep impression on me, both for Beijing as a city and for this hotel. Additionally, the gym and swimming pool were open during my stay, and the water temperature was good. I'd also like to thank Manager Zhao from the front desk staff. Next time I'm in Beijing, I'll definitely stay here again! They even gave me a book when I checked out, which was an added bonus!FromSEK 655

I stayed at the Grand Millennium Beijing for two weeks, and overall, it was decent. The only standout positive was the two housekeeping ladies; they were absolutely amazing. For the last eleven days of my stay, 'Zhao Juanjuan' was my attendant, and she was incredibly thorough and attentive. She folded my clothes neatly every time. She remembered all my habits and room preferences, diligently helping me each day with my requests. She even helped air out cigarette smells, opened and closed windows according to my schedule, dealt with strange odors from the bathroom drain, and scrubbed the bathtub daily. Basically, she was always responsive to my needs, incredibly kind, and always enthusiastic to help. If I ever return to the Grand Millennium Beijing, I'd specifically want to stay on the floor she services.
However, the hotel's policy on food delivery was frustrating. They wouldn't allow any deliveries to be left at the concierge, not even non-food items. It was really annoying. They only permit deliveries to be left in outdoor lockers, which means in winter, all your food gets cold. What's more, they have staff dedicated solely to pressing elevator buttons, so why can't they assign someone to bring deliveries up? There are no robots either, which was a real pain. I put up with it because I could see the 'Big Trousers' (CCTV Headquarters) from the lobby downstairs. Also, there was a persistent cigarette smell throughout the room, even in the bathroom. Another issue is that the hotel's decor is quite dated. There was a sewage-like smell from the sink, which made me want to gag while brushing my teeth in the morning. Everything else was fine. If you're looking for a newer hotel at a similar price, you could try the NUO Hotel Beijing or the Jing Guang Centre Hotel. But if you want to stay near the 'Big Trousers,' then the Millennium or Rosewood are your best bets.FromSEK 1,123

The location is excellent, very close to the subway station. The service was attentive, and the hygiene was good – everything was clean and tidy, even if the facilities weren't brand new.
However, for a hotel costing 900 yuan a night, the breakfast was incredibly cheap. Out of four hot dishes, three were instant sausages, and there was even spoiled cold mixed tofu skin (fuzhu) – the top layer was dried out and discolored, looking like it had been sitting there for days. Because of the great location, I stayed for six days, but from the second day onwards, I ordered breakfast delivery. I'd bring my takeout to the restaurant just to have some of their plain congee, which unfortunately lacked century egg and lean pork, despite being labeled as 'century egg and lean pork congee.' The buns in the picture are from my delivery.FromSEK 685

Our stay was ok but had several significant problems. The first was when I was told that my room would be windowless and in the basement. They said this was in the booking but it was definitely not clear when I booked through the English trip.com website, and the photo showed a room with a window. When I checked my booking online afterwards there was no mention of it being windowless.
When I said I had expected a window, the staff showed me a room with a window, but it was smaller, reeked of cigarettes, had a different bed configuration ill-suited for my family, and was more expensive. And I was told that regulations prohibited opening the window anyway. I have no idea why. So I resigned my family to the basement.
The room was nice and cute but the bathroom smelled like mildew, and, again, it was in a windowless basement. I don't know how it's allowed to have such rooms.
The hotel is 8 large floors and has only one elevator, so there was a lot of waiting.
The hallway in the basement had an unpleasant vinegar odor.
We tried to buy breakfast on our last morning. It turned out we couldn't just buy it with AliPay, we had to install a mini app, add all our information, verify things, and it was taking 15+ minutes. We just wanted to eat and catch our train. This senseless delay almost made us miss it.
The staff was nice and helpful but the hotel itself has a lot of problems. It is not cheap. The location is great but I would stay somewhere else next time.FromSEK 845

I booked this as a Novotel, but before check-in, I was told it had changed names. This might indicate some issues – perhaps the hotel didn't meet Novotel's standards. The hotel is quite old but well-maintained, with no obvious problems. The outdated design itself isn't a huge deal, but I genuinely can't understand the bathroom door's design – the handle pinches your hand, and the door doesn't close securely. For the price, the location is quite good. Within a few hundred meters' walk, you'll find Dengshikou Subway Station (Line 5) and Jinyukou Station (Line 8). Wangfujing Pedestrian Street is about a 15-minute walk away. I didn't use the hotel's breakfast. There are plenty of breakfast options on the way to Dengshikou Subway Station.FromSEK 935

We chose the 'Little Yellow Duck' themed family room, and my daughter absolutely adored it when we entered – it was just too cute and had a wonderful atmosphere! The hotel's location is super convenient, really close to the subway station, and within walking distance to attractions like the Forbidden City and Wangfujing Pedestrian Street. The service was excellent, truly excellent. The downstairs 'Siji Minfu' Peking Duck restaurant is a famous Beijing eatery, usually with a wait time of over three hours. The hotel staff thoughtfully reminded us to get a ticket in advance. After spending the day sightseeing, I asked the staff to help me get a ticket, and they managed to get one three hours early – fantastic! On top of that, my knees were a bit sore from all the walking at the Forbidden City, so I asked the hotel for ice to compress them. They even went to a bubble tea shop to get a big bag of ice, huffing and puffing as they brought it up – truly above and beyond! It's conveniently located between Jianguomen and Chaoyangmen subway stations, making it super easy to get around. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with a very grand and artistic vibe. I brought my two elderly parents, my kids, and myself to the Half Mountain Bay last weekend for a two-day, one-night stay. This was our second time here, and it was just as relaxing and hassle-free as the first.
The environment is beautiful, nestled by mountains and water with fresh air, perfect for seniors to unwind and kids to play. Our butler, Lika, was incredibly warm and attentive throughout. She proactively communicated with us before check-in to understand our needs and was always responsive during our stay. She was especially patient with the elderly and children, thoughtfully reminding us about the hot springs and salt steam room precautions, and fulfilling every request – her service was truly heartwarming.
The breakfast buffet was abundant, offering both Chinese and Western options. The live cooking stations served delicious food, and everyone, especially the kids and seniors, enjoyed it thoroughly. The variety and taste were excellent, setting us up for a great day.
The Half Mountain hot springs are genuinely comfortable. The Zodiac-themed pools offer good privacy and the water temperature was just right; my parents felt completely relaxed after their soak. The salt steam room was great for unwinding and relieving fatigue, suitable for both adults and children, leaving us feeling completely refreshed.

The only minor drawback is that the power outlets in the room were a bit inconveniently placed. We happened to be there for Christmas, and the gingerbread house and the Christmas tree in the backyard were absolutely adorable. The nail tech was also super cute and lovely. The restaurant also gets high marks: the breakfast is a refined blend of Chinese and Western options, small but excellent; I've eaten at the Western restaurant twice now, and every dish has been outstanding (the cream of mushroom soup bowl was even warmed; I recommend the foie gras salad and the chestnut cake). St. Regis Beijing: Unforgettable Luxury and Flawless Service
I recently concluded a truly exceptional stay in an Executive Room at the St. Regis Beijing and can confidently say the experience far exceeded expectations. If you are looking for a sanctuary of space and attentive service in the city, this is the place to be.
The Executive Room: Space and Comfort
The Executive Room itself was superb. The space was generous, feeling less like a hotel room and more like a private apartment. The design is elegant and classic, providing a very relaxing environment after a long day of sightseeing.
One of the standout features was the walk-in wardrobe, which offered ample space to fully unpack and settle in—a small luxury that makes a huge difference on longer trips. Beyond the wardrobe, the room was stocked with a full array of amenities that spoke to the St. Regis's commitment to guest comfort and detail.
Impeccable Service and Signature Touches
While the room was excellent, the service elevated the entire stay to five-star status.
The consistent turn-down service provided every evening was flawless, ensuring the room was refreshed and welcoming each time I returned. It's those little touches that define luxury.
Most notably, the concierge service was truly excellent and invaluable for navigating Beijing. They were professional, knowledgeable, and exceptionally helpful. They effortlessly managed to secure a booking for a Peking Opera show, which was a fantastic highlight of my trip. Furthermore, their simple and effective directions were a lifesaver, making it easy and stress-free to get around the city.

1: The front desk staff who checked me in, wearing teal eyeshadow, kept a straight face and emphasized three times that I needed to keep the executive lounge schedule and adhere to its times. Excuse me, is this my first time visiting an executive lounge? And second, I'm not blind or deaf, so I would have understood after you said it once. Also, please fix your makeup.
2: After being in the room for a while, I noticed a yellow stain on a pillowcase. I called, and the attendant quickly came to replace it. It's no exaggeration to say she replaced the pillowcase in 2 seconds. This was, without a doubt, the best experience of my stay.
3: As part of the executive benefits, I had a late check-out until 4 PM. However, at 2 PM, my card stopped working. My three-year-old and I were stuck in the elevator, unable to go up, and he got scared. It was then that I realized they might have deactivated my card... We had to go back to the front desk on the ground floor to resolve it. All of this is fine, these are minor issues.
4: They charged me 3500 for check-in and took the deposit quickly. But getting the deposit back was a different story. I've stayed at so many five-star platinum and diamond hotels, and I've always received my deposit before even leaving the hotel entrance. This is the first time I've encountered not receiving it after 12 hours. Customer service told me it would be returned via the original payment method within 48 hours... I've truly never heard of a deposit being delayed like this.
5: The shower in the room was very cold, and at night, it was extremely hot, making it hard to sleep. The breakfast was decent but didn't offer much. Please stop serving that 'cheong fun' (rice noodle roll); it's an embarrassment. Anyone who has ever had 'cheong fun' would know what I'm talking about... The executive lounge had almost nothing to eat; it was far too little, not even half of what you'd find at a Ritz. The orange juice was good. This is a hotel I frequently stay at. It's part of the HUAZHU chain, and you can see the crystal-inspired design everywhere. The cleanliness and service are consistently excellent. The rooms are spacious, and the automatic curtains are a lifesaver for someone like me who's too lazy to get out of bed. I especially have to praise their bedding – the mattress is just the right firmness, and both types of pillows are incredibly comfortable. The Chinese and Western breakfast is also quite good, and they even gave me a complimentary snack bag when I checked out. Every stay here is a great experience.FromSEK 548

For this friends' gathering, we wanted to experience a traditional courtyard hotel. We chose the Waldorf Astoria over the Aman, and it was an excellent experience! The room was very new and spacious, and the courtyard was beautiful. All the staff were incredibly thoughtful.
Before check-in, our dedicated butler, Amber, contacted us to ask if we needed any anniversary decorations and about our bedding preferences. We arrived quite early, and our room wasn't ready yet, so they kindly prepared a room for us in the main building to rest. They guided us through the entire process, and the service was incredibly detailed and attentive, giving us a fantastic first impression right from check-in.
For breakfast, we opted for room service. The variety was extensive, with American, Continental, Chinese, and even low-fat options.
Staff member Will also provided very attentive service. The hotel even offered a complimentary travel photography service. Although it was raining, the photographer (a young man named Yueqian) found great spots, and the photos turned out natural and beautiful.
While taking photos in the courtyard, we met another staff member, Judy, who was very enthusiastic. She gave us many tips on photo locations and also told us about fun places to visit in Beijing.
If we weren't heading to Universal Studios, we would have loved to stay a few more days. The overall experience was excellent, and I'd love to bring my parents here next time.FromSEK 8,375

Relatively clean place. The room is spacious although the entire block is only 2 storeys. There is no lift , so need to hand carry luggage to the 2nd floor.
Very close to 故宫 forbidden city. Exit hotel turn left, reach junction turn left again. Within 5-7 mins of walking you will reach 东华门 Dong Hua Men (Exit only). Follow the crowd to skirt around the canal and another 5-7mins you will reach the entrance of the city. This will save you a lot of time compared to entering from天安门 Tian an men.
Also, the front door of the hotel is it's entrance by the road. No stopping of cars as it sthe road side, you need to quickly hop on your cars as it's only pickup/drop off only. If you arranged transport, chances are you need to standby by the road to wait for the driver there as they cannot park there
Lots of food and restaurants nearby (exit door turn left). Slightly down the road on the right is 王府井 Wang Fu Jin area. Great for food and shopping.FromSEK 596

Intelligent experience, five stars! ”The hotel's facilities are truly brand new, and the smart home system is exceptionally well-done! The 'Xiaodu' voice assistant controls the curtains, lights, and TV, and it's incredibly responsive. There's plenty of hot water in the room, and the showerhead has great pressure. The parking lot even has charging stations, which totally solves the headache of charging an electric car. A detail-oriented person like me is absolutely thrilled!”FromSEK 150
