How to Become Trip.com Member & Earn Trip Coins

How to Become Trip.com Member & Earn Trip Coins

You automatically become a Trip.com member when you register. Trip Coins is the core currency of Trip.com's membership program and can be obtained through multiple channels:

  • Bookings (per USD $100 spent): Trip Coins are the core loyalty currency of Trip.com's membership program, and you can accumulate them through several key channels. The main way to earn Coins is through booking: for every $100 spent on eligible travel products, the return rate varies by category. Air tickets and train tickets can be exchanged for 20 Coins for every 100 US dollars, while hotel and gift cards can be exchanged for 50 Coins for every 100 USD. The price of the flight + hotel package ranges from 35 Coins for every $100. The price of the cruise is even higher, with 80 Coins for every $100. Insurance earns 10 Coins for every $100. When shopping globally at designated stores, you can earn at least 100 Coins for every $100 spent.
🎁 Become a Trip.com Member Now! Book Cheapest Flights Worldwide | 8% Off Best Hotels | Get fast & reliable eSIM.
  • Hotel Reviews You can also earn Trip Coins by writing hotel reviews. The number of coins depends on the length and detail of the comment: comments under 20 characters get 10 coins, those between 20 and 50 characters get 20 coins, and comments over 50 characters get 50 coins. Additional bonuses apply if you attach an image or video (10 extra Coins), post the review within 3 days of your stay (10 extra Coins), or review a hotel with fewer than 15 existing reviews (50 extra Coins). Please note that the monthly comment coin cap is 1,200 coins.
  • Trip Moments (Community Activity) Participating in the Trip Moments community is another way to earn Coins. New members can complete login tasks (such as viewing 5 posts with 2 Coins or following one user with 3 Coins) to earn a small amount of money, while level 6 members can unlock a monthly task: Posting 5 high-quality posts to earn 500 Coins.
  • Promotions Finally, Trip.com regularly holds time-limited promotional events where you can earn gold coins. Best hotel discounts and promo codes on Trip.com (weekly update) are all collected here as an all-for-one page!!!👇

How Long & How to Maintain Trip.com Membership

How Long & How to Maintain Trip.com Membership

Your Trip.com membership tier validity and maintenance requirements vary by tier: Silver and Gold tiers are permanent once achieved, while Platinum, Diamond, Diamond+, and Black Diamond tiers are valid for 1 year. To retain upper tiers (Platinum+), you must meet specific booking/spending criteria within the validity period; failure to do so will result in downgrading (minimum tier after downgrade: Gold).

  • Silver: Validity – Permanent; No maintenance requirements (retained indefinitely after registration).
  • Gold: Validity – Permanent; No maintenance requirements (retained indefinitely after completing 1 eligible booking).
  • Platinum: Validity – 1 year; Maintain by completing at least 3 eligible bookings within the validity period (extended for 1 year if met).
  • Diamond: Validity – 1 year; Maintain by completing at least 8 eligible bookings (min. total spend: USD 1,000) within the validity period.
  • Diamond+: Validity – 1 year; Maintain by spending a minimum of USD 10,000 within the validity period.
  • Black Diamond: Validity – 1 year; Maintain by spending a minimum of USD 20,000 within the validity period (eligibility assessed on expiration day; extended if met, downgraded if not, and requires re-invitation to regain).

Downgrade Example: A Diamond member who completes only 1 booking during the validity period will be downgraded to Gold.

FAQs about Trip.com Membership

  • What is Trip.com Membership?

Trip.com Membership is a tiered loyalty program for travelers who book services (flights, hotels, trains, tours, etc.) via Trip.com. It rewards members with Trip Coins (redeemable for booking discounts) and exclusive perks (like free airport lounge access, eSIM packages, and fee waivers) — with benefits increasing across 6 tiers (Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Diamond+, and the invite-only Black Diamond).
  • Does Trip.com have a loyalty program?

Yes, Trip.com offers a dedicated loyalty program (called Trip.com Membership) for its users. This tiered program rewards booking activity and engagement with Trip Coins, exclusive discounts, and premium travel services (e.g., airport transfer upgrades, priority support). The program includes 6 tiers, with the highest (Black Diamond) being invite-only for top loyal customers.
  • How do I cancel my Trip.com membership?

Trip.com Membership is automatically tied to your Trip.com account and does not require a separate cancellation process. If you wish to stop using the membership (and its associated perks), you can simply stop engaging with Trip.com’s services — your membership tier will downgrade over time if you don’t meet renewal criteria. Note: There is no "cancel" button for the membership itself, as it is a free program linked to your account.
  • Does Trip.com have fees?

Trip.com may charge fees for certain services, depending on the booking type and situation. Examples include:
Booking fees: Some flights, trains, or tours may have small booking processing fees (varies by product/region).
Change/cancellation fees: Most flexible bookings allow free changes/cancellations, but non-flexible fares may incur fees (details listed on the booking page).
Admin fees: Train ticket refunds typically have admin fees, though higher-tier Trip.com members get fee waivers (e.g., Diamond+ gets 4 free waivers/year).
Fees are always disclosed during the booking process, so you can review them before confirming a reservation.
  • How are bookings and spending amounts calculated on Trip.com membership?

Only completed bookings from certain product lines are eligible for calculation
1 Some hotels may take 2–6 weeks to confirm check-out
2 Some Attractions & Tours tickets may take up to 45 days after being used to be counted
3 Bookings and amounts with an actual payment less than US$0 (including Trip Coins, payment discounts, excluding promo codes) will not be included
4 For some car rentals and airport transfers, it may take 1–90 days for car service completion to be confirmed.
5 A single booking of a combination product (e.g., flight + hotel, adult + child flight tickets) will be counted as only 1 valid booking after the effective conditions of the specific product line are met
6 *From July 30, 2025, bookings for group tours and private tours will count towards the progress of membership tier upgrade.
7 Group tours and private tours may take up to 7 days to confirm the completion of the scheduled trip
