How to Become Trip.com Member & Earn Trip Coins

You automatically become a Trip.com member when you register. Trip Coins is the core currency of Trip.com's membership program and can be obtained through multiple channels:

• Bookings (per USD $100 spent): Trip Coins are the core loyalty currency of Trip.com's membership program, and you can accumulate them through several key channels. The main way to earn Coins is through booking: for every $100 spent on eligible travel products, the return rate varies by category. Air tickets and train tickets can be exchanged for 20 Coins for every 100 US dollars, while hotel and gift cards can be exchanged for 50 Coins for every 100 USD. The price of the flight + hotel package ranges from 35 Coins for every $100. The price of the cruise is even higher, with 80 Coins for every $100. Insurance earns 10 Coins for every $100. When shopping globally at designated stores, you can earn at least 100 Coins for every $100 spent.

• Hotel Reviews You may also earn Trip Coins by writing eligible hotel reviews. Reward amounts depend on review length, content quality and whether multimedia is attached. A monthly earning cap applies.
• Trip Moments (Community Activity) Participating in the Trip Moments community is another way to earn Coins. Tasks and rewards are updated periodically; available tasks depend on your member level and regional promotions. New members may complete simple login and browsing tasks to earn a small amount of Coins, while higher-level members may unlock monthly content creation tasks.

How Long & How to Maintain Trip.com Membership

Your Trip.com membership tier validity and maintenance requirements vary by tier. Silver and Gold tiers are permanent once achieved. Platinum, Diamond, Diamond+, and Black Diamond tiers are valid for 1 year. To retain upper tiers (Platinum+), you must meet the corresponding booking/spending criteria within the validity period; failure to do so will result in downgrading.

• Silver: Validity – Permanent; No maintenance requirements (retained indefinitely after registration).
• Gold: Validity – Permanent; No maintenance requirements (retained indefinitely after completing 1 eligible booking).
• Platinum: Validity – 1 year; Maintain by completing at least 3 eligible bookings within the validity period (extended for 1 year if met).
• Diamond: Validity – 1 year; Maintain by completing at least 8 eligible bookings (min. total spend: USD 1,000) within the validity period.
• Diamond+: Validity – 1 year; Maintain by spending a minimum of USD 10,000 within the validity period.
• Black Diamond: Validity – 1 year; Maintain by spending a minimum of USD 20,000 within the validity period (eligibility assessed on expiration day; extended if met, downgraded if not, and requires re-invitation to regain).

Downgrade Example: A Diamond member who completes only 1 booking during the validity period will be downgraded to Gold.
