Oude Centrum Amsterdam|1.78km from Rotisserie Beukenplein
Hotel location is very good! Almost all the attractions can be reached by walking. Passing a bridge is the famous red light district The hotel is very cautious from the welcome drink. My husband and I don’t drink alcoholic beverages. They give us non-alcoholic champagne. After the check-in, we also give the L’Occitane gift bag. The weather in Amsterdam makes us go out very bad. Convenient, the hotel will also provide a very creative disposable raincoat, the raincoat is placed inside a white ball, the ball can be hung on the carry-on bag, the girl with big eyes and short hair at the front desk is particularly warm and friendly, forgetting to ask her The name, the hotel's breakfast should be considered semi-self-service, offer some options, although we stayed for 10 days, will eat some meals, but still not tired, the dishes are very delicate and delicious, two Benedict eggs always eat Not enough, there is a smoking room on the first floor of the hotel. My husband will take a cigarette every morning to come over for breakfast. The tall, tall man with a big NICE will put his husband’s coffee in advance to the smoking room. He, and the drink I ordered, he remembered it the next day. After sitting at the table every morning, I don’t need to say that I will have a glass of orange juice and a cup of English. A meal of tea! The room design is also very user-friendly, the activity space is large, the fruit is rich and delicious, the chocolate is special, all the soft drinks in the refrigerator are provided free of charge, the capsule coffee machine has three flavors per day, the bathroom can be separated from wet and dry, and the room is dehumidified. The system is particularly good, even in the continuous rainy days, the house will not feel the tide, the cleaning supplies provided in the bathroom are all L'Occitane, the bathing equipment has a large water flow. . . All in all a very good hotel, everyone is very friendly. The hotel also provided us with a free drop-off on the last day. If you go to Amsterdam next time, you should consider staying at the hotel again!

Hotel Okura Amsterdam – the Leading Hotels of the World

Amsterdam Oud Zuid Amsterdam|1.98km from Rotisserie Beukenplein
We decided to splurge on this 5 star hotel for a long anticipated family reunion. Unfortunately the experience was marred by a series of disappointments caused by utterly incompetent hotel staff. When I called ahead on the day of our arrival to request an early check-in the hotel rep. sternly informed me that I would have to pay a 120 Euro charge for the privilege! We are experienced travelers and never have we encountered such a demand. We took our chances regardless and decided to show up 2 hours early. Sure enough, our room was already ready and we were allowed to occupy it at no extra charge. Things really started to go south when a limousine that I had arranged for separate airport pickup of my daughter’s family through the concierge showed up at the airport unequipped with a baby car seat. I had expressly requested this when I booked the service. This was also specified in the booking confirmation sent by email to me by the concierge. The reaction I later got when I complained to the concierge was that I was not charged extra for the baby seat - as if this was the main issue! Furthermore, this was the first time that I was informed of such a charge, as no mention of this had been made in the email confirmation of the limo reservation which I originally received from the concierge. More importantly, what is more concerning is the utter indifference he showed for the safety of a guest’s infant grandchild. All that concerned him was the money angle to the failure. Things soon got worse. When we checked into our room we lifted the bed cover to discover several hairs and multiple red and yellow stains. Unbelievably, the chambermaid had neglected to change the bedsheets. This, in a 5 star hotel! After we called reception, staff was quickly sent to our room to change them. We never heard further from management about this. We later had dinner at Serre restaurant onsite and left the place hungry. The chef seems to focus on presentation and less on the reasonableness of the portions. My wife had a fish main course which was equivalent to 3 forkfuls. The minuscule dessert was pretty to look at but was grossly inadequate even for one person. The restaurant style is a throwback to the old Nouvelle Cuisine school. For the icing on the cake: a voucher for a round of drinks on the house at the rooftop bar that the guest services manager had kindly given me was bungled by the bar staff. When I arrived home I discovered a mysterious charge of 66 Euros by the Twenty-Third Floor Bar. The bar staff set new standards of incompetence in taking my voucher and charging me anyway.I had to call the hotel for credit but I am losing money anyway from the spread in exchange rates used by credit card companies. To be fair, the Superior View room was extremely spacious and comfortable with a magnificent view. The large pool and ample spa facilities were enjoyable and a significant convenience . Also the reception desk personnel were very professional and welco

Given the reviews, I was not keen to stay here, but thanks to Ajax v Napoli there were no others available. To sum up, this isn't a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It is a 3 star hotel. Positives: - Location is superb - Architecturally stunning building - Large room (in my case, at least) - WiFi speeds are good. I was able to do video meetings from my room - Staff were pleasant and friendly Negatives: - Inside, the hotel is dark and in a state of disrepair - The kitchen closes early, and room service appears to not be possible. I was told that I should download Uber Eats if I wanted food after 10pm. - The room is tidy, but basic areas like around the sinks, bath, windows and TV were dirty - There is a smell of sewage that comes from the shower drain - The majority of channels on the TV are unavailable - There is no air conditioning. I had 2 tower fans in my room, and I had to use them both just to stay cool - No help with luggage, not that I couldn't manage myself - You get a bottle of water on the table when you check in. I had some the first night because it was so hot in the room. The second night when I was working late, I turned to open my fresh bottle. Nope! Same half empty bottle, had just been moved back to the table again. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel! Stay somewhere else. A few weeks earlier, I stayed in the Sofitel Legend. THAT is a 5 star hotel.

Watergraafsmeer Amsterdam|0.48km from Rotisserie Beukenplein
We stayed at this hotel in July 2022. We arrived in Amsterdam at about 10am, so we took our luggage to the hotel to leave there and asked for an early check in, which the website states the hotel will do everything to accommodate to which the staff said they wouldn’t be able to do, and looked puzzled I had even asked that. It is quite common in the UK to ask for an early check in if you arrive somewhere early and plan to be out most the day by an hour or so. Anyway as the day went on I felt progressively worse, I have health problems and I just wanted to check in & thankfully the staff when I rang did have a room ready for us but I had to keep ringing to see if they had one, they didn’t offer to call if one became available. When we arrived to check in, it was about 2PM (check in time 3PM) and when I explained our room was ready the girl was confused? As if it shouldn’t be ready, I explained it was agreed and they checked us in. When they asked the check out date I said the wrong date (a day too early) but this was because I was unwell and wasn’t paying attention but the staff just went with it? So really I could have said any date and they probably wouldn’t have checked? Went up to the room and on first impression it was a bit small and the shower room wasn’t great as the water went everywhere, and the room felt a bit depressing. We had issues with our keycard due to the wrong check out date being put on, so we had to get that changed a lot and there was often long queues for the staff to sort this. The majority of the staff were friendly it was just a shame some were rude. The hotel itself isn’t in a brilliant location and is quite far out from the centre however it is next to a metro station which provides links easily. Overall I wouldn’t return back to this hotel. The staff just aren’t that friendly.

Breitner House

Watergraafsmeer Amsterdam|0.5km from Rotisserie Beukenplein
Breitner House is a unique, warm, and luxurious experience. This boutique hotel has only two independent beautifully appointed suites, which is a definite benefit now. The setting is as if you were living in an art gallery with carefully chosen artwork, furniture, and lovely objets d’art. Added to the engaging setting are the complimentary coffees, wines, candies, and fruits making your visit feel like visiting a private, lovely country house. The warmth of the hosting also gives a comforting feel to it all. You can be as private or as social as you wish and any question or need was very nicely handled. And the breakfasts are gourmet level. Camilla provides a wide variety of cold cuts, cheeses, jams, chutneys, fresh fruit and juices, yoghurt, dips, pastries and breads that are very high quality. In addition, the warm entrees vary and each and every one was delicious. I don’t know how she does it. The sparkling wine offered with breakfast just added to an already special experience. The coffee was excellent and the latte/espresso was very much enjoyed by my husband. In fact, after breakfast I was ready to lounge in the spa-like bathroom in our suite. We traveled with our daughter and so had both suites. Frankly, I had a hard time choosing ours. Hers had a well designed bathroom with a shower and the fireplace in her room made our winter visit feel very cosy. They are both large and well lit with sitting areas and she didn’t even use the front room adjacent to her sitting room. Ours had a large living area with a sofa to sink into as well as another beautiful ceramic tile bathroom with shower and separate tub with heated floors. It was such a comfort to come back to the house after long days walking, sightseeing, and Ubering around Amsterdam, sometimes in the rain. Either suite is an excellent choice. We felt privileged to visit Breitner House and although we have stayed in amazing boutique hotels, top Kyoto ryokans, and large hotels, it was a peak quality experience for all of us.

Very beautiful and modern interior design with strong attention to details. Walls are in this gorgeous deep green decorated with gold/natural wood furniture and fixtures. The blackout curtains are a huge plus for a good night’s sleep and they maximised their bathrooms by splicing out the shower and the toilet! Comfy stay and lovely staff. Highly recommend and will book again in the future

Amsterdam Oud Zuid
It's a small hotel with small rooms, which is something to be expected in Amsterdam in the lower price range. The bathroom sink was located outside the bathroom which was odd, and the bathroom door is a wobbly shower door. It didn't really bother me though. I was happy to find a reasonsbly priced room inside the city. The hotel is located in the city, in a calmer area, which is nice. 5 min walk and you're in the vibrant busy streets chock-full of restaurants, shops and people hanging around. 15 minutes walk and you're basically in the very center of the city. There's also a Lidl right outside the door in case you don't want to eat every meal at a restaurant. The bed is rather hard, which I find comfy, with great pillows, and the room features an old style tired hair dries, which I appreciate. Modern one would be better, but at least it's there. On the negative side, I'd say there was no fridge, so we couldn't store food, except dry food, which takes away some of the convenience with the close by lidl. There was a lack of clothes storage. Only a couple of hangers and some hooks. The light switches were sort of randomly mapped and the lights didn't have the most welcoming hue. Also if I'd visit the bathroom in the night and turn on the light it would also turn on the blinding cold hallway light waking up anybody sleeping. Lastly, I don't care for AC, but a fan would have been nice in the heat. At least there was a large window that I could use to ventilate and curtains that completely blocked all light hitting them. All in all, a decent stay on a hotel in a great area. Some rough edges, so if you don't like that maybe it's not for you. But if you're mainly gonna be out exploring the city I'd say it doesn't really matter. Right, one last thing. The hotel must be used to annoying tourists because here and there are signs thay forbid alcohol and smoking in the rooms. Aledgedly a 300€ fine is given to the person drinking in the room. It doesn't give the most welcome feeling. However the staff were nice.

Staff super friendly!!! But the bed was three bunk bed and I got the top one, it’s VERY high up I’m telling you that, like it’s not the normal high, and you have shower and toilet in the room which I don’t think it’s a good idea. The locations was alright, but if you wanna go to centre you definitely need to use some kinda transportation (bike, bus or taxi) it’s not really walkable especially if you have your luggage w you. My experience with Amsterdam was okay but nothing really impressed me. I don’t this the price performance for visiting this city is super low. Overall I wouldn’t come back to this hostel again FIY the hostel DOES NOT have microwave so don’t even try to get cheap microwave food if you are staying here.
