Right in centre of Athens old town , interesting area that is fast being renovated. Hotel is only 3 yrs old , beautifully repurposed building with every facility in rooms. Very friendly staff. Small and v clean. Exvellent breakfasts . Travelled with teenage son so the suite suited us well. The partition closed completely so 2 bedrooms. Huge balcony. Loved it . Hope to return .

This is an apartment, the room has a palm computer, you can book the room for breakfast the next day; the room type is on the top floor, enjoy the top terrace alone, the view is very wide; whether you are on the oversized terrace or lying on the bed, you will see the Acropolis; the hotel elevator can directly access the room; A bottle of rose sparkling wine is also given, allowing you and your family to carry wine to ascend, look far and enjoy the scenery under the lively night of the old town. The only flaw is that the room type does not have a mobile phone charging usb socket and needs a converter. The room also has a hot water bottle, coffee maker, safe, etc. The hotel is in the old town, surrounded by many restaurants and bars, very lively. It will be a bit noisy on weekends, and it is recommended to wear earplugs if you don't sleep well.

Though most of this establishment are private rooms, I stayed in the 8-person dorm, so that is what I am reviewing. While this hostel was very clean and well serviced, it isn’t as good as some other hostels I’ve stayed in recently. The beds were not the most comfortable, though I did sleep alright on them. The beds are completely in the open, so there is absolutely no privacy at all. Also, there are limited electrical outlets, so, depending on how busy it is, you might be fighting for plug space (fortunately the dorm was less than half occupied during my visit, so it wasn’t much of a problem). The dorm does have one, ensuite bathroom, which I imagine results in queues during the busy season, however it is very clean. Lockers are available outside the dorm room for your bags/valuables. The dorm is located on the second floor, over streets which are quite busy late at night, so you will hear the din from the crowd below (light sleepers beware!). Two of the best aspects of this hostel as it’s location and rooftop terrace. Five minutes walk from Monastiraki Square, everything you want to see in central Athens is a stones throw away. The rooftop terrace is absolutely wonderful, with magnificent views of the Acropolis and the old city. A great place to enjoy a few beers in the evening (and a killer sunset), a coffee in the morning (with a terrific sunrise), or just catching some rays in the afternoon. See photos. For the location and terrace alive, I’d stay here again…but would probably opt for a private room.

Decent hotel right in the middle of everything. The rooms were nice with some wear and tear. It was very clean. The rooftop terrace has a wonderful view of the Acropolis and is a nice place to end the day with a few drinks you can bring up (a beer store and liquor store within 200 meters of the hotel). There is a restaurant associated with the hotel but we didn't wind up eating there, but heard good things from other travelers. The hotel is a bit difficult to locate since the sign is pretty much hidden by overhangs, but Mario was a wonderful host when we finally found it and really helped getting luggage to our room and with helpful directions for things to see around locally. The other hosts weren't almost invisible so he stood out. The elevator is very small so you can't be claustrophobic and use that one. The hot water heaters also had a quirk where you had to turn them on every morning, but they gave hot water in a few minutes, not sure if that's typical in Greece or not. All in all, I would stay there again if I had a trip to Athens.

Wow! A great hotel in a perfect location for exploring Athens. Our room was immaculate and a decent size by European standards. Very comfortable twin beds, a “closet” area, stocked mini fridge with complimentary water and reasonably priced soft drinks and wine. The breakfast, included when booking directly with hotel, was Very good, and generous portions. Amazing Greek yogurt, excellent avocado toast with egg, and many other choices. Location is very convenient to the Agora, a few minutes walk to Montastakiri Square, Hadrian’s library and the Acropolis, as well as many shops and great restaurants. Hopping nightlife( lots of youngish Europeans) nearby, too. The staff on all shifts were super nice and very helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations and arrangements for transfers. Highly recommend this property!

We stayed in the Junior Suite with Panoramic view of the Acropolis, and we LOVED our room! Not only was the room beautiful, but the view of the city could not be beat! We were close enough to Monastiraki for perfect access to the shopping and the metro, but just far enough off to not feel overwhelmed by the crowds. We felt comfortable and safe the whole time. Essentially, this is the perfect location to really enjoy the city. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast was terrific. The bonus for us was the very reasonable prices for our accommodations. It should be noted that we stayed in October, so the heat was not in full effect, but we never had a problem. Over all, we highly recommend Lotus Inn for anyone who wants a great city stay.
