Ai Santinelli

Fabulous place for our week in the outskirts of Lucca (10 minute drive) Picturesque, clean, quiet, and well managed. We had a suite with kitchenette, made our own meals some evenings and walked to fabulous restaurants the others. Met other fine travelers also. I can't say enough about the staff: Marco and Nicco (fun professionals, full of travel and sightseeing guidance, historically knowledgeable, set up tasting and meals, etc.) and Lavinia (ultra sweet server for our fab meals): Our trip was special because of these folks...we'll be back.

A wonderful oasis in the hills outside Lucca. Marco and team have done a great job and are very helpful. The rooms are comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. We walked into Vorno for dinner one night, rode bikes through the countryside and visited Lucca (10 min by car). The highlights were breakfast which was amazing and the swimming pool. Bruno the chef even made us sandwiches for the train. We would visit again next time.

We picked the place because of all the wonderful reviews online and let me tell you, after staying there I understand why the reviews are all wonderful. What beautiful staff, so helpful and friendly. We booked the private Villa and it was excellent, great value for money. You need a car as there isn't much around it but talk about peaceful. 30 minutes from Pisa and 15 minutes from Lucca, which by the way is a beautiful town, this place was wonderful. My wife reckons she has never had a better omelet than here. the chef will make you anything, they just want to please you. We stayed 3 nights as a fill in between locations and it turned out to be well worth it. I would highly recommend this place to any travelers in the region

I cannot express how wonderful this place is. It’s setting us so natural & rural with beautiful views. It is impeccably clean and comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is all homemade including the yoghurt & butter. They will make you whatever you want. You can have dinner on a Monday evening which unfortunately we didn’t experience. The staff are so friendly & kind. Just amazing. ❤️

A more perfect place would be hard to find. Elegant accommodation, excellent service, very good breakfast with a variety of items cooked to order, lovely grounds, sparkling pool, peace and quiet in a beautiful setting. It is also possible to order a light lunch. Marco is a great host. Always smiling, attentive and helpful. His staff are the same. There are three good restaurants within easy walking distance. You will need a car to get into Lucca for other restaurants in the evening or sightseeing, but a taxi is easily organised. We look forward to coming back to ai Santinelli.

The website photos dont do this wonderful place justice. It is superb. Customer service is excellent from the minute we used the pre arranged airport pick up. Marco and his team went the extra mile to ensure every aspect of our holiday was tailor made. Our room (502) was unusual with its double aspect windows and cool a/c and spotlessly clean. Loved the option of cool downstairs lounge and kitchen for 2 rooms.. as there are only a couple of rooms it feels like a country home-never stayed anywhere like it before. The pool area with comfortable loungers and sofas was often just a couple of people. Breakfast delicious and lunches available at a small cost. Monday night dinner fabulous (and my husband is a chef) and Marco gives many suggestions on nearby places to eat. This is truly an unusually beautiful place. We really did not want to leave and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!!

What a lovely place. All the staff were super friendly and the accommodation was super stylish. The website doesn’t do it justice. Our suite was described as having a small coffee area - I was expecting a nespresso and a mini fridge - in fact the suite was really an amazingly spacious apar**ent with an oven/hob and decent sized fridge. In addition there are communal lounges and bottled water on tap and of course one of my favourite features an honesty wine fridge. Restaurants in walking distance and a short 15 minute drive to lucca and the benefit of the beach club too. Would definitely recommend and would love to return - the breakfast was delicious and the optional dinner was devine.

What a wonderful place to stay! Beautiful rooms, great pool and a very tasty breakfast prepared and served with love and passion. Marco is a proud owner and welcomes you open arms. He is very dedicated and warm and has created a beautiful place with a lot of ambience

Believe the unanimous 5 star reviews. They're all true. I won't repeat what others have written but will add some additional commentary based on our week there. It would be handy to have a car but it's not essential. We cycled to Lucca on a number of occasions using the hotel bikes and we are in no way lycra lovers. Even the 12 and 13 year olds loved it, especially the cycle route around the city which was super safe and simple. The rest of the time we took short cab rides to restaurants like La Cecca, a must visit. There are a couple of really nice restaurants within easy walking distance and a cheap and cheerful trattoria around the corner. There's also a mini supermarket 2-3 miles away that has everything you need for your stay. Marco is on hand for everything else!
