In that respect the hotel has found a jewel in Rose in the reception. Her care for us as visitor was a new experience, not to be compared to anyone. You felt she wanted the best for you and your stay, and she engaged in the matters of importance for you. We will recommend this hotel to friends in Europe. And a good advice to the management, be sure you take good care of an employee like Rose, they are not easy to be found. What a delightful hotel with delicious food and great service. Our room had a wonderful sea view, was very clean and good storage (with a fridge and safe). The balcony was a lovely place to sit at any time of the day or night. We were on half board basis which was ideal. Breakfast had a great choice of fruit, pastries, meat, cheese, egg, bacon, juices, bread etc etc. You could ask for your eggs cooked any way. The evening meal is buffet style for the first course and dessert with three choices each for the second and third courses. We both thoroughly enjoyed all the meals we had. The Italian/Lancashire maitre de is wonderfully efficient with a great sense of humour. The waitresses and waiters are friendly and helpful with great service. The bar and reception are together on the ground floor, all the staff gave a warm welcome, were helpful at all times and enhanced our stay. The area is welcoming and comfortable. We went on the half day trip to San Marino which was well worth doing. There are four swimming pools, some people were braving the outdoor pools, I stuck to the heated indoor/outdoor pool which was perfect at this time of year. Gabbice Mare had largely shut for the winter but we found a different cafe each day for lunch. Lovely walks all round, especially the promenade. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and give thanks and appreciation to all the staff. One word of warning - the mosquitoes were on the hunt (they love my blood). Take your spray and use it night and day.

I am writing this review while my family and I are still in the hotel, just to make sure I will not forget anything. So....just to begin with....this could most probably be one of the most beautiful hotels in Cattolica, if not actually the nicest one and I will try to write a detailed review so that it is as clear as possible. Location - it is the only hotel located on the beach (literally) - you actually get out of the building and your feet will directly hit the sand :). Rooms/Cleanliness - we are travelling with our 1.7 years old baby girl so a clean room was absolutely mandatory in order for us to have a nice, relaxing stay. We definitely found that! The room was spotless and has been kept like that every day by the absolutely amazing cleaning ladies. I have read reviews saying that there were dirty bed sheets .... no no no. It was definitely not our case. Everything is literally spotless. I have also read reviews saying that the bathrooms need an upgrade. You guys....this is a historic place and from what I could tell, the owners definitely did their best to keep little pieces of history and combine them with new furniture and we believe they did an amazing job. If you expect to come in a place like this and find nothing of its historic charm.....then this is definitely not a good place for you. Restaurant - we have the all inclusive meal plan and we are definitely satisfied. Not only by the food but also by the incredible staff working in the restaurant! They are always smiling and nice (even though I am pretty sure this has been a pretty tough year for all the people working in the hotel business). Now....a message to the owner. Dear Sir.....you definitely manage the hotel with the most potential in Cattolica. I am sure you put a lot of work and soul into this structure because we could definitely see that in everything. However, there are some details missed, small things that could actually make a difference and I am only giving a few examples (even though my list is long :)): the things people see when entering the hotel's garage (that is most definitely not a four star view; the plastic flowers put on the tables of the bar - please please please replace them whith some big white candles and it would make such a different impression; please clean the terrace you have on the 4th floor and put some nice lounge chairs over there - the view up there is AMAZING and the hotel guests would definitely appreciate it (if the hotels' structure allows it, a little bar up there would be.....heaven!); do something about the hotel's ”backyard” because I know it is not your fault but that grafitti and those broken windows are not necessarily the nicest things to see.... and the list could go on. I would be more than happy to detail even more :).
