Jolly Swagman Motor Inn Holbrook

We are retired and regularly stop there when travelling north. It is comfortable, and quiet with helpful staff. Although dated it has everything that we expect, everything worked and there was nothing we could complain about. The Chinese restaurant attached to it was a bonus.

This motel is a hidden gem when travelling along the Hume Highway The rooms are large, clean and comfortable The owners/staff are extremely welcoming and helpful even accompanying you to your room, turning on heating/cooling and offering assistance to carry items We have stayed several times,experiencing the same friendly old fashioned service

I've stayed here some years ago and the new owner is very hospitable and helpful. The room (6) was immaculately clean and the bed was warm and comfortable. I travel with a large dog and the motel is very much appreciated for their dog friendly policy. Very reasonable price. Will definitely stay again. MWKE

Great little motel in Holbrook. Very quiet now Holbrook is by-passed on the highway. Rooms are a good size and beds very comfortable.Chinese restaurant attached to the motel is a bonus! Restaurant is BYO but motel reception has a little area that can assist! A very good place to stay between Sydney and Melbourne

This lovely motel is the ultimate dog friendly experience. About half way between Sydney and Melbourne just off the highway, it has great dog friendly but spotless and comfortable rooms with everything you need for an overnight stay. Jason the manager could not be more helpful and they have a fenced dog run to put your pups in while you unpack and settle in! We travel with our dogs a lot ( 2 cocker spaniels) and they are right at home here.

We were having difficulty finding dog friendly accommodation, which allowed dogs inside, on our recent trip. So glad we eventually found the Jolly Swagman in Holbrook to stay at. The owner was friendly and helpful, the room spacious and clean and there was an attached Chinese restaurant where we were able to have a lovely meal. It did have a slightly ‘dated’ feel but all the benefits definitely made up for this. We’ll definitely want to be going back on our next road trip and highly recommend this place for any other travellers with pets wanting a break on the road.

Stayed here at the Jolly Swagman Holbrook for three nights in a twin room ($130/night) as part of an annual event held in Holbrook each year. Rooms are just average size. Location is on the main road but noise is acceptable because of light traffic Good points:: Clean Comfortable beds. Good shower/hot water So so..... Air conditioner is an in wall type so is relatively noisy. Could be an issue in hot weather if you wanted to run it overnight. Bad Points Wi Fi is limited to 500MB per room (not occupants) per night. Other than teaspoons and mugs no crockery or cutlery is provided although toaster and microwave and jug are provided.! Summary The Wi Fi 500Mb policy is crazy. You are lucky to get a bit of banking/mail/browsing done.Jucky to last 30 minutes. They may as well not provide Wi Fi at all and be done with it. I asked management about the crockery and cutlery but they said they did not provide it because it gets stolen! Obviously they were not so concerned about the microwave, toaster, jug or TV walking out the door. I shan't stay there next year but shall return to the Sky Motel which also has good basics but provides crocjey, cutlery and unlimited Wi FI.
