"Facilities: This onsen ryokan is conveniently located right next to Odawara Station, making it incredibly easy to visit Hakone. You can even do a day trip there using just the Hakone Free Pass. Cleanliness: Spotlessly clean. Environment: The views from the higher floors are fantastic, offering a distant view of the ocean. Service: The buffet breakfast was exceptionally generous and delicious – highly recommended!"

"Because our itinerary for the second day was quite impromptu, we decided to stay in a city in between. As expected, the business hotel was clean, tidy, and convenient. The shower facilities were also good, and it was very close to the station. Breakfast was provided in the morning. The hotel staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, and communication was pleasant. It was a very good choice for an overnight stay."

"This was the worst accommodation I've ever booked on Ctrip. The location suggested it was close to downtown Odawara, but it turned out to be just one stop away, making it a difficult walk. Worse still, the website didn't clearly explain the location. Upon arrival, I realized it was a single apartment on the fourth floor, with no elevator and a worn-out staircase. For someone like me, lugging two large suitcases and two children, navigating the area at night was a complete chore. The room amenities were all very old, and the conditions were considered poor for a guesthouse. I couldn't believe they were priced at nearly 1,600 per night! I checked the price again before I even checked in, and just one day later, it had dropped to over 600, which is probably more reasonable. The accommodation, location, and price are completely mismatched. All the other hotels I booked during my Japan trip were excellent, even in the heart of the city. Hotels in Shinsaibashi that cost over 600 were far superior, and hotels in Shimoncho, Kyoto, that cost 800 per night were five-star and included excellent breakfast for three. This apartment was truly terrible, and I felt ripped off. As a platform, Ctrip can't even handle this basic level of rigor? They just let merchants mark up prices at will. If you said 500 or 600 per night, I'd accept it. But 1500+ is a complete deception to consumers!!!"

Tenseien Odawara Station Annex ★★★★

"The hotel offers convenient transportation and a great breakfast spread. The foot bath pool was a very relaxing feature. Its location right next to a shopping mall makes dining and shopping incredibly easy. We had a minor issue during check-in, but the front desk staff were incredibly understanding and quickly resolved it."

Toyoko Inn Odawara Station ★★★

"5-min walk from the station. 10 min from the castle and 15 min from the beach. Located at a quiet street and faced to the old historical like buildings which was the food plaza. Supermarkets and restaurants around. The hotel seemed quite new with 3 elevators. Room was not big but clean and had a good view of the castle. The breakfast was excellent with many choices. I stayed there for 4 nights. Some dishes were changed everyday. I even found 鱆魚燒 one day. Very surprised! It was definitely a cozy stay. I would surely stay here next time."

Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa ★★★★★

"This is a long-established resort with ocean-view rooms on a hillside. Shuttle buses are available from JR Nefukawa and Odawara stations, and the service is excellent. The room is a semi-Japanese style; it's very comfortable to brew a pot of tea, sit on the futon, and enjoy the sea view."

The View Odawara ★★★

"We elected to stay in Odawara due to the high cost of the Hakone area – and are we glad we did! This place is a hidden gem! I was a little worried about sleeping on the futon mattresses on the floor but if you find it uncomfortable like we did, just stack a few on top of one another and you will have a nice nights sleep. The apartment itself was massive! Ours had two bedrooms, once again, quite big. The apartment was spotless, Smart TV, kitchen with full appliances and dishes, washer/dryer, bathroom, it had it all. I was a bit worried as reviews online mentioned that staff speak Japanese only, but this is not the case, they are very fluent in English. Short walk from Odawara station, lots of food options around the corner and a short bus or train into Hakone. 100% recommend staying here!"
