Old Windsor Hotels with Airport pickup service

We visited twice in September 2022, using the hotel prior to and post travelling from Heathrow. The complex is set in beautiful grounds, a short drive from Windsor, a very short walk from the Thames and historical Runnymede and is brilliantly located for Heathrow. Legoland is no more than 10 mins away by car. Ample parking is available on site and the hotel is set over a range of buildings and locations, including the beautiful White House. We can’t credit the front of house team enough. They were exceptional, brilliantly professional, very friendly and exceptionally helpful, even when we arrived late at night following our arrival at LHR. The rooms are really well appointed, well decorated and the beds exceptionally comfortable. We had two great nights sleep there. It will be very difficult to find something you don’t like at breakfast. A very extensive range of well prepared and presented food and staff are on hand to help and tidy as required. We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night with a drink in the bar beforehand. The restaurant menu is extensive and there should be something for everyone with reasonable prices and good portion sizes. We loved the wine list, which again had a great range available. Service was really good, attentive and friendly. Genuinely can’t recommend enough. It’s almost the hidden jewel of hotels in and around Windsor and Heathrow. We will definitely be using it again.

We spent the last weekend at the hotel and we were delighted to had booked the hotel as the rooms were really clean and tidy the light system was very Cousy and relapsing the reception team were very kind and helpful, parking for our car was really good as well as it saved us from parking hassle. I highly recommend it to every one visiting LONDON.

We wanted a mini break for my family. The hotel is absolutely stunning,great facilities,restaurants.bar,spa .Grounds Ellie greeted us on arrival & showed us round .Such a lovely greeting made us feel very welcome.All the staff are very friendly & they make sure everything is perfect throughout your stay .Our food in moorish restaurant was again excellent.Staff gave us great service,making sure we had all we needed.The buffet is a great addition.All the food was absolutely delicious & very tasty. The spa experience was out of this world.Mia & jas showed us round & pointed us in the right directions for interior pool ,jacuzzi,sauna,steam room,outside pool . We also each had a full body massage.I have to say that was the best massage I’ve ever had .Great communication on needs ,right pressure.A definite must to de stress your body.Afterwards we relaxed in the Himalayan salt room .If your looking for a excellent hotel to stay in .You definitely won’t be disappointed. The location us super convenient if you are near T4, so don't have to walk a long way in the middle of the night to find somewhere to sleep. It takes around 5min walk on the link bridge to access the hotel lobby. Room prices also included breakfast for 2 person in each room. Smooth check in just like the other IHG hotels (14:00 - 06:00). Check out time is 11:00am. Rooms are clean and comfy for travellers. The room comes with two set of pillows (soft and firm) which is very nice of them thinking like this. Hairdryer and iron is also available. Everything else was up to expectations for an airport hotel, I would only say the walk from the lift to your room is quite far and the carpet is not the easiest to pulled a 20kg suitcase.

The Hotel is perfectly situated for visiting Windsor Castle and a very short walk to Windsor Royal Theatre. My husband and I have stayed at the hotel numerous times. This time we stayed as we went to see a show at the theatre, Darker Shores, which was incredible. The staff at the hotel were polite and well presented and the breakfast more than satisfactory. The room was clean and comfortable and we slept well. It is our go to Hotel in Windsor and hope to stay again soon. If you're looking for a hotel to visit London, this is not the one. To give you an idea : Piccadilly Circus is about 1.5 hours to walk and about 45 minutes by taxi (expensive) and, if you're lucky, about the same by public transport (a mixture of walking, bus and tube... and a pain!) That said, if you need a hotel in this particlar area – which is actually nearer to Fulham than Sloane Square, then you could do much worse. The welcome was genuinely warm and we were made to feel appreciated. Despite checking in the previous day via the Hilton app., no room could be allocated, so we had to check in again at the front desk. The check in staff was charming and efficient and her trainee status was not evident. Our 6th floor room, well away from the renovation noise on the 1st floor felt, however, like a downgrade from the 'Queen' room we'd booked, as it had a double bed in it (150cm) – like Hampton Inns, which Hilton class as 2 categories below Doubletree. For Diamond members – who can expect room upgrades “up to a one bedroom suite” - this could be a disappointment. Queen beds are usually 160cm, doubles 150cm. If this hotel is selling doubles as queens, then I personally think this is a bit naughty of them. Also, despite the hotel stating that their 1st floor renovation work does not start before 9 a.m., they do not mention that the massive building project which half-encircles the hotel, starts well before this time and is constant throughout the day and, by the look of things, is destined to last for a long time yet. The room was clean, the bed comfortable although narrow and, apart from a few stains, the room was adequat for a one or two night stay. I wouldn't like to stay longer, as the bathroom is even smaller than a Hampton Inn – there's nowhere to put a toilet bag and nowhere to hang used towels. The shower unit is the same style as in Hamptons but much smaller than most. The toilet seat was loose and so was 'interesting' when using it, several plug sockets in the room did not work and the a/c and TV turned themseves off several times during our stay. Otherwise the room was well designed, with enough mirrors, work surface, chair, safe etc. and fridge that gets things cold enough – if you are willing to wait about 18 hours, that is! Don't expect a good sleep – the doors are not sound-proofed and are paper-thin. Room doors are also constantly 'banging' shut due to the spring mechanism. The lobby bar is well stocked but has slighly frightening prices. We didn't try the restaurant – choosing a Middle-Eastern restaurant 5 minutes' walk away – but the food we saw looked to be well-presented and seemed to be of the fast food type. The breakfast was, to be totally frank, extremely disappointing. The quality was good but the choice was extremely poor for a Doubletree and, in comparison to the maybe 30 or 40 Doubletrees I've stayed in, is by far the worst breakfast 'spread' I've seen to date. i have stayed at the ibis beconsfield every year for the last four when i go to down south has a stop over around half way from me and find it great value i paid £39 in july if you book early if thats not value i dont no what is the rooms may be basic but they are clean and do the job they have always been freindly helpful staff on reception witherspoons on your doorstep and a large inside services with all the big names mcdonalds kfc ect never had any issues always had a quiet night no noise thanks ibis beconsfield and see you next time

Great country inn that feels like home. The surrounding environment is beautiful, and the room is supplied with sufficient coffee capsules every day. The restaurant downstairs is delicious. Breakfast is ordered. If you stay for a few more days, you can try different options, and you can even ask for additional food varieties. The waiters are very friendly and enthusiastic, although sometimes they are very busy. I will definitely come to receive you immediately, but this will not hinder your comfort here.

We had a one night stay and have to say it was great! Stayed in a larger room on the top floor with views of the castle and Guild Hall, truly lovely. Plenty of room for two adults and two little boys. Very clean and comfortable. The shower was super as were the lovely smelling toiletries, really good quality. Excellent quality tea, coffee and Nespresso in the room (proper milk in the fridge!) We also had complimentary mini bar in the suite (soft drinks only) and because we booked direct 4 free drinks from the bar including alcohol-that was a lovely surprise! The service at check in and check out was prompt, professional and friendly. Breakfast was excellent, really good variety and delicious. The lovely lady (maybe Filipina-sorry I didn’t get her name) who was managing breakfast this morning at 7:30am was super friendly and an asset to the hotel, keep hold of her!! But have to say all staff we encountered were professional and friendly. Easy to park and £30 for safe, convenient over night parking isn’t bad for central Windsor. We are staying again in December and already looking forward to it! If you need to be in Windsor to see the sights and want them on your doorstep then you can’t go wrong with the lovely Castle Hotel.

I stayed here a couple of times but the last time was the last! I booked in and paid in advance then on the day, I checked in and offered my photo ID as I had done previously and it had been accepted before, however on this occasion I was refused check-in as they had now decided only a passport would be acceptable which I didn’t have. The unhelpful staff and then the manager offered no solution and just shrugged and said “nothing we can do”. It should again be noted that my photo ID was acceptable before but not now – it should also be noted that the confirmation email only requested “photo ID” which I provided. No specific ID was asked for. So it seems this hotel makes up the terms and condition s as they go and seemingly change them when they feel like it! The room had been paid for so there was no chance of my running off without paying. After some time I finally resolved this by my husband racing home and emailing a copy of the passport which was grudgingly accepted otherwise my I was looking at nowhere to stay after an early, start at 4 a.m., a very long day then finally the hopeless staff at this place refusing entry to a customer who had paid way in advance causing a lot of stress! The receptionist told me they needed the passport to verify the address – however my address is not in the passport so this is a bit confusing. The manager confirmed this as well as confirming no entry and no help. This is really terrible service as they could have easily verified the address with other documents I had but this was not accepted – my ID clearly showed me as senior management at a local large organisation but the staff were unhelpful and seemed totally disinterested that I would have nowhere to stay – this part of London gets booked quickly hence my booking way in advance so the likelihood of getting a room somewhere else was very remote. It would have been simple to verify me but the staff were more interested in being difficult. So my feeling is the staff had maybe screwed up with another customer and had decided to ad hoc changes to the terms leaving me almost stranded. It could also have been a method of releasing a room for someone else – maybe a friend of the hotel. Who knows but I would be very careful using this place as they seem to have some very dubious and “flexible” terms for staying here and you may get caught out. I will never book here again and as a vice president of a large global organisation that hosts many international clients, I would certainly not recommend this place. It's short sighted of this hotel to be so unhelpful as they will have lost business but their lack of help displays a clear lack of interest in the customer. Please book here if you are happy to risk sleeping on the park bench instead of a hotel room!
