Ibis Paris Gare du Nord Chateau-Landon 10EME

I stayed in this hotel with my 6 year old daughter from the 24th of July til the 28th of July and I must say I did not have the best experience there. Firstly in my booking that I made with booking.com it said that the price included breakfast so I was shocked to hear that I had to pay for my daughter 4 days of breakfast on top. It said clearly breakfast was included.. If I book a room for both of us and the breakfast is included surely it is for both of us?? I sent several messages to get a refund but they never reply and before my trip I sent them emails about my trip but never got any replies. Also I found the staff extremely rude and unhelpful when I was asking for things when I was there, especially a black tall guy who was just rolling his eyes and staring even when I asked for an iron like it was a problem. When I asked for directions instead of actually explaining things to me I was just given a map, maybe as the English was not very good but I think hotel staff should speak sufficient English. Breakfast was good selection but once again the staff there hardly smiled always seemed rushed and pushing through the queues putting down their croissants, very rude. I been working 22 years as cabin crew so I know what good customer service is like. Also they put a transaction hold of £70 on my debit card that has not been refunded. Lastly I should have checked the location better but coming back late at night is not very safe at all, especially with a young daughter. Lots of dodgy people around.

We were very pleasantly surprised with this 3-star budget hotel in the 10th Arrondisement of Paris. Our party of two had booked a twin room for three nights, with one guest only staying for one night due to travel circumstances. Here’s what we liked about the hotel: 1. The room was extremely spacious, with two double beds which were very comfortable. 2. The interior presentation of the room was fairly contemporary, decorated in a shade of pale grey with accents of maroon. A large window bathed the room in light; there were appropriate black-out curtains for a comfortable sleep. 3. The room was street-facing, but the street is not a main road and the noise level was negligible. 4. The room was spotlessly clean, and smelt fresh. 5. The bathroom was very spacious. Towels were changed daily. Some basic toiletries were provided though we always travel with our own. The shower area needed a shower curtain to contain the spray, as the water tended to go everywhere. 6. A kettle, and sachets of tea and coffee were provided in the room. 7. Breakfast is provided at an additional charge in a small dining room beside the Reception area; we did not have breakfast at the hotel. 8, The hotel offered good wifi with easy connectivity and reasonable download speed. There were ample power sockets for charging devices. 9. Reception staff were courteous and welcoming; the Reception area appeared to be staffed all the time. 10. The hotel is budget friendly, the daily room rate is good value for the standard of accommodation provided. 11. The hotel is in a good location. It’s equidistant between Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est; both mainline stations and their Metro stations are no more than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The heart of Montmartre is a 30 minute walk away. The only thing we didn’t particularly like about the location of the hotel was the the plethora of young males gathering around in the streets in the afternoon and evening, trying to discreetly sell you cigarettes and other goods. Hotel guests just need their wits about them when walking to the stations, and to make sure belongings and wallets and purses are safe. We would certainly stay at this hotel again.

Very nice hotel a short walk from the station. The area is not particularly nice but as we were only there for 24 hours we wanted to be near the station. The hotel was trendy and seemed to cater for the younger crowd. The place had a great buzz about it. The restaurant was really busy and had a fab DJ playing some great tunes on the Saturday night. Our room was nice but I don’t think it was the upgraded room we had paid for. Good shower and bathroom fixtures, two basins and toiletries. Twin beds were comfortable. Not enough hangers on the clothes rail but plenty of drawer space. Restaurant food was very good. The burger was delicious. Short Uber ride to the Moulin Rouge (fantastic). Half an hour Uber to the Eiffel Tower.

In Paris you tend to get what you pay for so if you book a budget hotel, lower your expectations!! That said, this hotel was quite a pleasant surprise. When I got to my room it was very clean, with a comfy bed and basic looking shower that actually supplied plentiful hot water. The guys at reception were pleasant. They let me drop my bag off prior to check in and let me leave it for a bit after I checked out. For sure there is noise from the street but as a city girl, I was not bothered and it was not excessive. Because the floors are not carpeted (they have new looking lino type floors) the noise from someone upstairs who did not take their shoes off was much more distracting!! The stairs could do with a good scrub to be more aesthetically pleasing but as I wasn't sleeping on them I didn't care. Super close to the Metro at La Chappell and an easy walk to Gare de I didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that. All in all, much better than I expected and I would stay again

So Hôtel was located walking distance to Paris Gare du Nord train station, so if you have a train to catch and you are just passing by it’s a great choice. I am not much sure about the neighborhood cause we arrived in the evening and left early in the morning. The whole area is busy with people, well, it’s a train station area. People at the reception were nice, spoken English. Reception and room are in two different buildings just two doors apart so don’t be confused. It’s easy and they will direct you. Room was small but warm and clean. So was the bathroom. We had clean towels, some cups , tea kettle. Bed was comfortable. They left some ear plugs in case of the noise, and it did get a bit noise over the night, but I guess these things are normal for a hotel. At least they thought about that and left earplugs. Elevator is small as many people said, and stairs are spiral, but so are elevators and staircase is even the most fanciest neighborhoods in Paris. Deal with it! I recommend this hotel, it was definitely worth the money.

We booked a 4 bed room for our family (2adults and 2 kids) for 4 nights. It was perfect - not too much noise, close to restaurants/cafe/bakery, metro 5 mins away, and some fantastic local people playing with kids most evenings. I was expecting the breakfast to be diabolical due to some poor reviews but it was just right - 1 x boiled egg, 1 x choc croissant, muesli, 1 x fruit (yes one only), yogurt, a little bread roll and tea/coffee. A god size and healthy start to the day. If your kids like soccer, buy a ball and play with the local kids. There’s a certain edginess to the area but that’s part of its charm, we loved it. On your way to the Marx Dormoy Metro there’s a bunch of little bars, supermarket, bakery, and restaurants.

Hotel de l'Aqueduc

I would have rated it higher as most of the staff are lovely, breakfast is good, rooms are small but comfortable and it’s location is excellent. However, one member of staff was quite surly and never greeted people coming in and out, and said that we would have to buy milk and teabags as they only supplied for one day. That is beyond petty. Asking for a €50 deposit is unusual in a hotel and the same member of staff gave no explanation. Everyone can have a bad day but not if you are public facing.
