GGuest UserIt was just an absolutely amazing experience from the very beginning and until the very end of our stay, not even just in the hotel, but in the city of Pingyao itself in general. Me and my friend are traveling very light and without guides, and in Pingyao we had only one day: from evening to evening of the next day. Huge huge thanks to everyone who made this day unforgettable and ultimately comfortable for tired us: Alice, Helen, Fenny, Hana, and all others who was there for us.
The hotel service is simply excellent: as soon as they learned about our late arrival, they immediately offered to meet us at the railway station, which was absolutely the sweetest thing. They brought us to the city gate, met us there, and walked us to the hotel. There they gave us a map, on which they explained in great detail where everything is, what is worth paying attention to, how it is better to build the route, and what opening hours different sights have. They also helped us organize a private transfer to Shaolin Temple the next morning. It was just perfect: we got there in 15 minutes instead of one and a half hours by foot, and after our walk in the temple they met us and brought us back. Also on the evening of arrival they helped us immediately buy the ticket for visiting all attractions of the city, valid for three days. And also they advised us where to eat, and gave us a hotel discount in both places. We did not regret it even once, the food was amazingly delicious in both places!
The hotel itself is just wonderful: it really looks exactly like in the photos. You want to photograph every corner and record how the sparrows are chirping on the roof, and how two wonderful cats are meowing. The room also matches and even exceeds expectations. A huge kang bed, very comfortable. Excellent shower with everything needed. Breakfast is included in the stay: the traditional Chinese one was very tasty! Unfortunately, we did not manage to eat the egg, it was freshly boiled and still hot, but we were hurrying to Shaolin Temple by opening time. Also the hotel has a laundry service, and special thanks for that too! Washing and drying were very fast, and we got our nicely smelling clothes back already after four hours, which was critical for us, because we were leaving the same day.
We felt like we really were honored guests, and we really appreciated it, even if only for one day.

The hotel is convenient to go anywhere next to the ancient city. There are snack streets next to various restaurants to eat. The hotel service staff are also good. Everything is in place. GGuest UserAn incredible stay in Pingyao, made even more special by the wonderful hosts of this beautiful hotel. The setting is deeply traditional, stunning during the day and truly magical at night when the lanterns light up the courtyard, creating a peaceful and charming atmosphere.
The hosts, a lovely couple, are exceptionally kind and generous. They provided great advice on exploring the city, recommended excellent local spots to discover Pingyao and Shanxi cuisine, and were always ready to help make our stay as smooth as possible.
I would recommend staying at least three nights to fully enjoy the city and perhaps explore some of the nearby temples. And before you leave, donât forget to pick up a bottle of the homemade vinegar produced at the hotelâitâs a unique and memorable souvenir!

GGuest UserThe hotel's service and cleanliness were absolutely top-notch! We were traveling with two young children, so we pushed the twin beds together. This is the first time I've ever stayed at a hotel where they even cleaned *under* the beds â it was incredibly impressive! I genuinely recommend this place; the price is also very reasonable. The attention to detail is fantastic! Other areas are just as good, no need to even mention them. As soon as we got out of the car, the security guard helped us with our luggage, which was great service. The price was acceptable, the room was clean, and they even gave us a complimentary snack package. The gym and self-service laundry room on the fourth floor were also excellent.

GGuest UserThis guesthouse is located right inside Pingyao Ancient City, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city's attractions and enjoying local cuisine. We arrived at Pingyao Ancient City Station by high-speed train, and the guesthouse offered a pickup service from there, which saved us a lot of hassle. The room was clean and tidy, with underfloor heating throughout, as well as an air conditioner. You could walk around barefoot without getting cold. The bed was a large, comfortable 'kang' bed, a local specialty. The building itself is over 300 years old and a protected heritage site, so staying here offers a unique experience and a connection to historical relics. The guesthouse owner was very approachable and friendly. They enthusiastically introduced us to the city's sights, helped us plan our itinerary, and gave us many helpful tips. They also warned us about certain people to avoid in the city â it's always reassuring to have local insights when traveling. We were truly grateful! The recommended dining spots were also affordable and delicious. We look forward to visiting again!

It is his own inn, and the photos taken are very good, which can fully satisfy everyone's fantasy about Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture. Great đ. The first photo is inside the inn.

Mmaymaymay33A beautiful guesthouse, the rooms are beautiful too. Bed is big and comfy, very clean and the bathroom is modern despite how traditional the building is. Also has great heating if desired. The family that runs the guesthouse is so so sweet. Their food is also delicious and a great option for a quick breakfast (the buns are to die for). Excellent location. All in all would definitely come back and recommend this place.

GGuest UserThis trip to Pingyao, I am very honored to choose the glory homestay. Although it is outside the ancient city, it is super convenient to travel. It takes only a minute to walk to the entrance of the ancient city, and it also avoids the trouble of traffic control in the ancient city. The room was clean and warm, the bedding was soft, and I fell asleep as soon as I touched the pillow at night. The owner of the homestay is a retired veteran of 20 years. The service is super enthusiastic. Not only does he help plan the route, but also recommends many small shops that locals often go to. GGuest UserPingyao Yundingxuan truly exceeded our expectations! This ancient courtyard, a former Shanxi merchant's residence, has an incredible atmosphere, perfect for amazing photos. The location is superb, right on West Street in the heart of the old town, within walking distance of 'Impression Pingyao' and all major attractions â super convenient for sightseeing and dining.
The hotel offers free pickup and drop-off at the city gate, helps with luggage, and provides thoughtful and attentive service. They patiently explained sightseeing routes and even assisted with discounted bookings for 'Impression Pingyao' tickets, saving us time and effort.
The rooms are clean and tidy, with soft and comfortable bedding. The courtyard is quiet and tranquil, making it a very reassuring stay for both elderly guests and children. The amenities are comprehensive, and the breakfast is authentic. It offers incredible value for money. It's definitely the top choice for family trips to Pingyao. Highly recommended; we'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Pingyao.

AAnonymous UserWe ended our five-day trip to Shanxi and were very satisfied with Shanxi, especially this B&B in Pingyao Ancient City. After booking the room, we contacted the inn and reserved a parking space for us. We got off the expressway and arrived at the parking lot smoothly, and someone came over. They were very considerate in picking up my luggage. The location of the inn is very good, just at the intersection of the pedestrian street. It is not noisy at night and is very convenient for traveling. This is the most recommended one. The inn is a typical Shanxi courtyard house, just like living in a TV series. The courtyard is very comfortable, the rooms are clean and hygienic, and the service is excellent. I recommend everyone to stay here.
