My wife and I enjoyed our stay in the Delian Boutique Homestay. The location in Pingyao ancient city is very good, and the rooms are bright and airy. We were particularly impressed with the hotel staff, who connected us with an excellent English-speaking guide, helped arrange our visits to scenic spots and transfer to the train station, and were generally very helpful throughout our stay.

Service: The most important thing is that the proprietress is very enthusiastic and has been providing convenience for the sake of the guests and helping to solve the actual needs.

The location of the house is very good. It is a short walk to the center of the South Street in the ancient city, and it is convenient to go anywhere. Next to it are popular online stores such as Hongwuji and Mr. Liang Yogurt. There is a queue of 3 hours on holidays. If you find the landlord, you don’t have to queue up and go in directly to eat, and you can also get a discount.

Within Pingyao walled city, it was easy to go to visit the sites. The lady owner gave me a map. Even though I speak no Chinese and they speak no English, we were able to communicate using a translator app. She recommended a restaurant when I asked.
They made the utmost effort to make your stay enjoyable. The owner took me to the railway station when I left.
P.S. Best to download MAPS.ME as it will work offline. Google Maps does not work in China. The taxi will drop you outside the city wall and you can ride the shuttle to the hotel. Make sure you got the Chinese address. Also same possible, install the Wechat app as it is used widely in China - you text in English they translate to Chinese and vice versa.

CCecile1986The hotel is really nice and in the authentic style of Pingyao. It is quite closed from the east gate and from the ancient city center.
The owner is really friendly, speaks good English and is doing everything to make you enjoy your stay. He did explained very well all the activity and provide help if needed.
The room is clean and we didn't care about the size as we were out all day. If I have to suggest one thing, it will be to have bigger mattresses as they are quite hard but it's a personal preference.

The room is carefully decorated and clean. The service is responsive and considerate, and the pick-up and drop-off services are in place. A very satisfying stay experience. The environment is beautiful, the parking lot is large, the breakfast is rich, and the millet porridge is especially a must. High service level and fast integration. In the ancient city of Pingyao in the AAAAA scenic spot, live in this wonderful hotel with high comfort. To Pingyao, they are all preferred.

GGuest UserIf you want to experience thousands of years of cultural heritage, I really recommend a trip to Pingyao, Shanxi. However, you have to leave more time for yourself. A quick tour is not enough to deeply feel the weight of history here. Because it is a low-budget trip, so I stayed in an ordinary B&B in the ancient city. The location was pretty good. It was in the central area of the entire ancient city. It was very close to the county government museum. Other attractions were basically within walking distance. If you are a novice, you can go to the ancient city like me. In a B&B like this, chatting with the owner is much better than doing a lot of guides. The owner is a local and is very enthusiastic and will help you avoid many pitfalls so that you can experience this historical city with peace of mind. The only bad thing is that everyone A common problem in large scenic spots! Too commercial! However, if you avoid these, you can still learn about Shanxi merchant culture and simple folk customs here. The accommodation is more like a fellow villager's home, not fancy, but really unique in the commercial world, just a simple family courtyard. I feel, but I can rest assured that the sanitary conditions are quite clean. I am really satisfied with this trip including the accommodation.
