"My friends and I love simple, bright, and fresh decor, which is why we ultimately booked this B&B on Ctrip. The pick-up and drop-off service was perfect for us non-driving independent travelers; the car took us to the entrance of the ancient town, and then the shuttle bus from the ancient town dropped us right at the hotel entrance. This was so much better than dragging our luggage through the ancient town like other tourists. Although the B&B isn't on the main street of the ancient town, it's a short walk from everywhere, which is very convenient, and it offers a quiet retreat from the bustle. The butler's service was incredibly thoughtful; they gave us a map of the ancient town and even explained how to explore and where to eat. Even though it's a renovated old house, the interior feels very modern, and the hygiene is excellent. They provide disposable bath towels, regular towels, toilet seat covers, and even bathtub liners. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with attentive service, definitely recommended."

From the moment I stepped into Pingyao, I was completely won over by Taotang Inn's thoughtfulness. - Luxurious Transfer, Grand Entrance: As soon as I got off the high-speed train, a Maybach arranged by the hotel was waiting. The spacious back seat, supple leather upholstery, and smooth ride into the ancient city instantly melted away travel fatigue. Talk about arriving in style! - A Detail-Oriented Dream: Every corner of the room spoke of meticulous design – dark walnut wainscoting paired with warm-glow glass lamps created a retro yet sophisticated ambiance. The bedding was incredibly soft and gentle on the skin, and the mattress offered perfect support; I didn't want to get out of bed for two nights straight! The bathroom was an even bigger surprise, with high-end toiletries like Le Labo Santal 33 hand soap and Appelles mouthwash, plus the latest Dyson hairdryer. My hair was smooth and frizz-free after drying, the quality was truly palpable. - Heartwarming Butler Service: Whenever we left, the butler would always hand us a warm bottle of mineral water and patiently recommend authentic local restaurants, even planning our routes for us. After a tiring day exploring the ancient city, returning to the hotel's warm, soft lighting and peaceful courtyard instantly calmed us down. It truly felt like coming home. - Ancient Charm, Peaceful Retreat: The hotel itself is a beautifully preserved Jin merchant courtyard, with red lanterns hanging high and intricately carved wooden window lattices. During the day, we sunbathed and enjoyed tea in the courtyard, and at night, we drifted off to sleep listening to the quiet sounds of the ancient city. It perfectly balanced historical charm with modern comfort. This was by far the best choice of my Shanxi trip, no exaggeration! Next time I'm in Pingyao, I'm definitely staying here again. The owner was incredibly thoughtful, contacting us a day in advance to provide parking information and even turning on the air conditioning in our room beforehand – more considerate than I expected. Because we got carried away sightseeing, it was already dark when we arrived in Pingyao. Luckily, the owner had sent someone to wait for us along the parking lot route, otherwise we might have missed our stop. The hotel's location is very convenient, easily accessible from West Street and South Street. The breakfast was also excellent and definitely worth trying. Oh, and the owner even upgraded us to a cave dwelling room and gave us a discount coupon – thank you! I felt that the businesses I encountered in Pingyao were all very friendly and had excellent service. Highly recommended!

GgrapeaiI had an incredibly pleasant surprise staying at a guesthouse in Pingyao Ancient City! It's been converted from a hundred-year-old traditional house, and the bricks, tiles, and carved wooden windows all exude an ancient charm. The pomegranate tree at the entrance to the courtyard and the stone table with enamel bowls inside create such a wonderful ambiance. The guesthouse also has its own restaurant, serving up authentic Pingyao flavors. It was a comfortable stay with a genuine local vibe!

1109678****The hotel is located at the North Gate of Pingyao. Parking is convenient at the North Gate parking lot, and the owner will pick you up and take you to the hotel. The city wall is visible from the upper floors, and the sunset view is beautiful. Breakfast is delivered to your door. It's a bit far to the center of the ancient city, but the hotel offers pick-up and drop-off services. The drop-off point for the ”Encounter Pingyao” show is a bit further, requiring an extra ten minutes' walk, so I called a taxi directly on the way back. They also gave me a gift of Fenjiu liquor and balsamic vinegar upon departure.

RRokssasThis hotel was really great and perfect for us. We loved its location, the breakfast and the comfortable and spacious room. It's walking distance from everything to see in Pingyao and they have free transfer to the airport which was a plus as we arrived in the city at night. We want to especially thank Wendy and Linn at the hotel as they were really nice to us and exceeded our expectations. We will recommend this hotel to anyone going to Pingyao.

From the initial pick-up and parking arrangements to the final departure, there was not a single unpleasant experience; they were incredibly attentive, helpful, and meticulous. The inn is elegant, clean, and tidy. The staff are friendly, patient, and responsive. The aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air daily, and the Chinese and Western breakfasts are cooked to order. While the variety isn't extensive, every bite is satisfying, especially the bowl of beef noodles, which is incredibly good! The room's simple and elegant decor perfectly reflects the ancient city's style. No matter how exhausted you are from exploring, returning to the courtyard provides a truly relaxing and tranquil experience. Overall, it was a truly wonderful two-day stay. I'd especially like to thank Ms. Dong Yanxia (I think that's her name) for her patient, meticulous, and attentive service, which has left me and my family with wonderful memories of this holiday!
