From the moment I stepped into Pingyao, I was completely won over by Taotang Inn's thoughtfulness. - Luxurious Transfer, Grand Entrance: As soon as I got off the high-speed train, a Maybach arranged by the hotel was waiting. The spacious back seat, supple leather upholstery, and smooth ride into the ancient city instantly melted away travel fatigue. Talk about arriving in style! - A Detail-Oriented Dream: Every corner of the room spoke of meticulous design – dark walnut wainscoting paired with warm-glow glass lamps created a retro yet sophisticated ambiance. The bedding was incredibly soft and gentle on the skin, and the mattress offered perfect support; I didn't want to get out of bed for two nights straight! The bathroom was an even bigger surprise, with high-end toiletries like Le Labo Santal 33 hand soap and Appelles mouthwash, plus the latest Dyson hairdryer. My hair was smooth and frizz-free after drying, the quality was truly palpable. - Heartwarming Butler Service: Whenever we left, the butler would always hand us a warm bottle of mineral water and patiently recommend authentic local restaurants, even planning our routes for us. After a tiring day exploring the ancient city, returning to the hotel's warm, soft lighting and peaceful courtyard instantly calmed us down. It truly felt like coming home. - Ancient Charm, Peaceful Retreat: The hotel itself is a beautifully preserved Jin merchant courtyard, with red lanterns hanging high and intricately carved wooden window lattices. During the day, we sunbathed and enjoyed tea in the courtyard, and at night, we drifted off to sleep listening to the quiet sounds of the ancient city. It perfectly balanced historical charm with modern comfort. This was by far the best choice of my Shanxi trip, no exaggeration! Next time I'm in Pingyao, I'm definitely staying here again. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality and a warm, inviting atmosphere!

What a pleasant surprise! This hundred-year-old courtyard, said to have once been a general's residence, completely met my expectations. The room amenities were excellent, and I particularly want to praise how comfortable the pillows were. The cafe offers complimentary coffee and tea from 2 PM to 10 PM, and the staff member there was incredibly kind and attentive. Breakfast was also exquisite and plentiful, especially the handmade noodles prepared by the auntie – absolutely amazing! The staff mentioned they're expanding, and the adjacent courtyard will soon feature a children's playground, gym, and meeting rooms. I'll definitely be back!

Come to Pingyao to play, it is estimated that this is a newly opened hotel. The environment facilities have nothing to say. It is very clean and spacious. The hotel is convenient to go anywhere next to the ancient city. There are snack streets next to various restaurants to eat. The hotel service staff are also good. Everything is in place. Give me a good experience, and then Pingyao will live in his house! ! !

Brand new hotel, very stylish and beautiful, it was renovated with high quality materials. The personnel is kind and helpful, they provided umbrellas for us for the rainy day. However sound isolation in between the rooms is a big problem, when someone goes to toilet in the next room it sounds like they are inside your room because of the air channels in between the rooms. And also there is a constant back noise like the sound of a fridge but there is no fridge inside the room! The room is a bit “too modern” for our taste, there was a mirror with a blue light that we had to cover with a towel and we had to turn off the “intelligent toilet” that also had a blue light and a sensor. Anyways too many lights and too much noise in the room. Unfortunately we regretted to have moved to this hotel and pay 20€ more per night compared to our previous hotel in Pingyao.

The hotel is beautiful, specially the patios. The location is just 10 minutas walking from the North Gate of the wall. In reception they do not speak English, but they were very helpful with the translator. However, if you really need to rest, this hotel is not made for you. At 7am there were already families and kids shouting and playing in the patio. Even with taps, it was too noisy to keep sleeping. The hotel is also offering folkloric dressing and photos shoots, so you might find people take pictures in front of your room anytime, also at night with flashes

The breakfast spread is fantastic! This is truly the perfect way to do a family trip. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to experience ancient charm. You can't go wrong, book it! The hotel's travel photography and makeup services are also top-notch. All in all, a truly worthwhile stay!

From check-in to check-out, my stay was incredibly pleasant. The environment is quaint and tranquil, perfectly fitting the ancient city's vibe. The room was clean and hygienic, the bedding comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water. The service was attentive and thoughtful, and the location was convenient for getting around. It offers excellent value for money and is the perfect place to stay when visiting Pingyao.

Our stay at Xinghuacun Inn was excellent! Since we were traveling with elderly family members, they upgraded us to a suite, which saved us the hassle of going up and down stairs. Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant experience. The inn's accommodations were clean and tidy, the room decor was elegant and cozy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and it was wonderfully quiet, making for an outstanding rest. The staff were warm, thoughtful, friendly, and polite. Their service was meticulous and attentive, responding promptly to any request. They were genuinely reliable and made us feel truly welcome. The restaurant's food was authentic and delicious, with fresh and substantial ingredients. The dishes were abundant, tasty, and full of flavor. From the accommodations and attentive service to the specialty meals, everything was well-arranged and served perfectly. It offers incredible value for money and is our top choice for travel accommodations. Highly recommended!

A wonderful inn nestled in a tranquil location amidst the bustle of the city. From the initial pick-up and parking arrangements to the final departure, there was not a single unpleasant experience; they were incredibly attentive, helpful, and meticulous. The inn is elegant, clean, and tidy. The staff are friendly, patient, and responsive. The aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air daily, and the Chinese and Western breakfasts are cooked to order. While the variety isn't extensive, every bite is satisfying, especially the bowl of beef noodles, which is incredibly good! The room's simple and elegant decor perfectly reflects the ancient city's style. No matter how exhausted you are from exploring, returning to the courtyard provides a truly relaxing and tranquil experience. Overall, it was a truly wonderful two-day stay. I'd especially like to thank Ms. Dong Yanxia (I think that's her name) for her patient, meticulous, and attentive service, which has left me and my family with wonderful memories of this holiday!
