Farlam Hall Hotel & Restaurant

Our stay at Farlam was faultless from start to finish. We only stayed for one night but will certainly return for longer. The team members are all very friendly and welcoming, and also extremely good at what they do. We noticed at dinner how well the younger staff members were being trained and given guidance by the more experienced staff - that was great to see. The food was superb, one of the best meals we have had in recent times, and great pre-dinner cocktails in the bar. The room was lovely - spotlessly clean and a very pleasant place to spend time looking out over the gardens, and completely silent at night.

As one would expect from a chef of this pedigree really excellent and worthy of its new star and all the efforts being made by the team I would only eat if I was staying over and do think they could offer a better deal for mid week diners in the rooms

Had a wonder 3 night stay at Farlam Hall Hotel & Restaurant, the hotel and grounds are gorgeous, staff very friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was beautifully cooked, presented and tasted wonderful. Our room #5 was excellent, very comfy bed with wonderful views over the front and side gardens and the special cedar tree. Highly recommend as the location is also ideal for local sightseeing and getting to the Lakes or into the Border regions.

Absolutely delighted with our stay. We have always been a fan of Hrishkesh Desai when he was at the Gilpin. Seeking him out we have not been disappointed on so many levels. The menu was a triumph. A sensory experience full of flavour. Each dish a culinary work of art. The bar has a fantastic selection of interesting cocktails and well balanced wine list, all expertly managed by Alex. Really lovely room and very clean. The staff are so welcoming and everybody is very friendly. Restaurant is beautiful and delicious food. Lovely grounds which are very well maintained. Would highly recommend and will be back. This was our second stay.

Great car park welcome from George, which scored an additional mental point with me immediately. It was a beautiful day and the venue and policies are tranquil and serene. Excellent service from beginning to end and the product to match. We will return.

Farlam Hall and all its team set the standard for all Hotels and restaurants to follow. Everything from the booking to checking out, nothing is left to chance, every attention to detail is taken care of. I called to make the booking and it was answered on the first ring, no automated service to go through, just a warm welcome. Booking was followed up with emails to make sure they had everything we needed on arrival. We were met by Kirsty who came out to the car to greet us, we were then shown round the hotel and the champagne I'd ordered, perfectly chilled and waiting for us in the most beautiful lounge. The room was absolutely outstanding with all you could possibly need, with so many lovely touches. There aren't enough words to describe our dining experiences. Immaculate location, attentive and knowledgeable staff and the tasting menu and wine flight just outstanding. Every course, a work of art. Our second day/evening was equally as spectacular, and as if they could read our minds, our wishes were met without having to ask. We had a really early checkout so couldn't make breakfast, so they had it already packed up for us, with again, some lovely touches in the bag. Nothing showy or pretentious here, simply absolute genuine, authentic old fashioned service married with brilliant food and a glorious location.

Top class all the way. Service superb. Tasting menu was sensational. The tastes and flavours were exquisite. Also good value at £130 a head. The room was really an apartment with bedroom upstairs and a large lounge and kitchen downstairs. tastefully furnished. Very comfy bed .

The accommodation in this hotel is very comfortable. Our only complaint was that we could never sort the temperature out. It was always too hot and our friends suffered through the same problem. The food here is truly incredible. Whether it was breakfast or dinner - every dish was superb. We are all still reminiscing about it. The staff also deserve recognition. They were all so polite, friendly and very efficient.
