2-Star Hotels in Xining

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, someone was there to help with our luggage. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the manager was exceptionally friendly. The front desk even provides a handy little guide to local attractions, which was very helpful. Our check-in process was smooth, and the room itself was great – I was very satisfied. It was also spotlessly clean, and each room has its own independent air conditioning unit that works perfectly for cooling. The hotel also offers a self-service laundry room. For anyone traveling, I highly recommend this hotel. It's cozy and comfortable, the service is excellent, the rooms are lovely, and there's free parking. Plus, it's conveniently located with easy access to transportation.

It was difficult to find the hotel in the first place when we stepped out of the taxi as we need to enter the building, go up to the 9th floor. Before, we asked surrounding locals ans they had no idea where was our hotel even :) The room were really spacious for 4 people. However, there were one queen bed for, and one big single bed which were not enough for 4 people to sleep in. Also, the room in reality didn't match at all the illustrated images. I suggest the hotel to be more honest with how their rooms look like so future guests wont be shocked as I was in the first place. Nevertheless, the hotel location was excellent. Next to the train station, to the market streets, surrounding mosques and Nanshan Park. We had a great time in Xining.

Starting with the positives. The construction and decor was great. Showering space was also nice and new. Staff were also helpful and nice. Amenities are ok. Everything you would expect for washing up. But no AC for many rooms without windows is a travesty. Only a electric fan that can only blow for 1 hour at a time. Easy to get asphyxiated at night. Horrible stench of body odor and cigarette smoke was present when I entered my room. Hygiene seemed alright until I showered. And with a small waft of the towels a terrible stench of cigarette odor pierced my nostrils.. Expecting guests to wipe off with this odorous smell is disappointing. Water also leaks from the shower compartment into the toilet floor.

Xining is a fantastic, vibrant city, and my biggest regret is not staying longer; it deserves way more time than just a quick transit stop thanks to its incredible food scene, night markets, and laid-back vibe. During my visit, I stayed at LETE Hostel, which serves as a solid, character-rich base for exploring the region. The top-floor communal space has real history and soul, beautifully flooded with sunlight, packed with green plants, a massive library, and even three cute resident birds. The ladies at the front desk are incredibly kind-hearted and welcoming, always doing their best to help out. Location-wise, it’s perfect - super convenient for the night markets, local food stalls, and bus stops, plus they offer safe bike storage for cyclists. For the price of a private room, the value and hospitality here are unbeatable, and I would absolutely stay again - and next time, I’ll be giving Xining the full week it deserves.

The hostel boasts an excellent location on Xinghai Road. My taxi driver told me it's a popular street for locals, bustling with street food and restaurants. (After two nights, I can confirm this observation!) I arrived close to 11 PM, and the male owner who checked me in was incredibly helpful, even carrying my heavy luggage to the second floor. He also added me to the hostel's WeChat group, which is great for travel info. The group announcement even has a detailed hostel introduction and a food guide – impressive! As for the room, I booked a 10-bed dorm but was kindly upgraded to a 6-bed dorm – thank you, owner! The room isn't huge, but it's very clean. There's a laundry room on the second floor, and a small open-air balcony where you can hang clothes or just relax (I heard there's a larger, proper drying area on the top floor, but I didn't go, so I can't confirm). The only slight disappointment was the women's communal bathroom on the second floor. It had an unpleasant odor, and the biggest issue was how narrow the individual stalls were. They have Western-style toilets, and the toilets themselves were quite dirty. When using the toilet, your head tends to hit the door because it's so cramped. There's a sign saying it's going to be renovated soon, and I really hope they improve it! There are also two communal toilets on the first floor, which are more spacious and have squat toilets, which are more common for Chinese people. This definitely makes up for the shortcomings of the toilets on the second floor.

The service was excellent, and the location was very convenient. The environment was beautiful, and everything was clean and well-maintained with complete facilities. The breakfast was delicious. It's located behind a hospital, above a shopping mall, and in front of a snack street. Overall, it was really great.

The only one good thing staying here is the location. Be warned that the room is small and bath towels are not issued. It appeared that the management has a strut control on the issuing of amenities for the room. There's also no sign of the aircon controller in the room. Not recommended for long stays.

I booked a non-smoking room, but the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The smell in the bathroom was very strong and extremely irritating to my nose. The room was not clean. The floor was dirty, and I found 1-2 small cockroaches. The bathroom was poorly designed and not properly separated into sections. The bed was very hard, and I woke up with back pain in the morning. There is no elevator in the building-only stairs. I had to carry my large 29-inch suitcase down from the 4th floor to the 1st floor by myself, which was very inconvenient. I originally booked 5 nights, but I had to cancel the remaining 4 nights because I simply could not continue staying there Overall, a very disappointing experience 😌

The location is particularly good, right in front of the night market, and it is very convenient for eating, drinking and having fun. Hygiene: The room is very clean, I will come again next time. Service: The service is very enthusiastic and can meet any needs.

My home is right in front of Harmony Homes. If it weren't for the guests at home, I wouldn't have known there was such an affordable hotel. The experience is very good. A lot of toiletries are given as gifts, so you don’t need to take them from home. The decoration of the room is quite new. The mattresses and quilt cores on the bed should not have been used for a long time. They are all quite new, which is good. We booked two rooms, and found out that the stickers on the walls of each room were different, each with its own meaning, and they were very thoughtful. All the guest supplies in the room are disposable, so you don’t have to worry about hygiene and whether there are bacteria. You can just replace them after use. The business really thinks about consumers. In the future, guests who come to the house will choose your place to stay. Rest assured, feel at ease and take care! ! ! 👍👍👍
