Enjoyed our stay here. The staff were most helpful. The owner helped us in getting a taxi to the train station. We really appreciate this.

Starting with the positives. The construction and decor was great. Showering space was also nice and new. Staff were also helpful and nice. Amenities are ok. Everything you would expect for washing up. But no AC for many rooms without windows is a travesty. Only a electric fan that can only blow for 1 hour at a time. Easy to get asphyxiated at night. Horrible stench of body odor and cigarette smoke was present when I entered my room. Hygiene seemed alright until I showered. And with a small waft of the towels a terrible stench of cigarette odor pierced my nostrils.. Expecting guests to wipe off with this odorous smell is disappointing. Water also leaks from the shower compartment into the toilet floor.

Pro points - The beds are soft and comfy, good showers with very hot water. Rooms were clean. The buses from outside connect well to the Muslim area of the city and the restaurants nearby are nice. Staff are friendly. Bad points - We booked a non smoking room, all the rooms available were infact non smoking and yet the whole place absolutely stank of cigarettes. We moved rooms because after dinner we came back to a haze of smoke in the room, everyone must be smoking. I live in China, I realise this isn't uncommon, but in that case don't advertise non smoking rooms.

Staying at Hostel No. 45 in Xining truly exceeded my expectations. It was clean, comfortable, and had a wonderful, welcoming vibe – it was definitely the most reassuring place I stayed on my trip. The hygiene was impeccable. The bedding was changed for every new guest, it was spotless with no odd smells, and the beds were soft and comfy. The common areas and bathrooms were cleaned daily, always fresh and never greasy, completely unlike the damp and messy feel you sometimes get in typical hostels. The location was super convenient, close to the train station with plenty of food options nearby, making it easy for getting around and finding meals. The owner was warm and attentive, patiently recommending local tips and helping with carpooling and finding travel companions. They were always available to help with any issues, treating you like a friend. The atmosphere was relaxed and laid-back, perfect for meeting like-minded travelers. The facilities were complete, with stable hot water and fast WiFi, offering excellent value for money. I'll definitely choose this place again when I return to Xining, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone traveling to the Northwest – you won't regret it!

The hotel lived up to its quality expectations in every aspect. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. The water pressure in the bathroom was excellent. The room lighting was great, and the location was superb, with convenient access to transportation and dining options.

Great location, friendly staff, but as in many places in China, people, especially men, smoke indoors. They still have a long way to go about setting up strict rules for smoking areas.

Staying at the Boway Hotel was an absolutely fantastic experience! The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to the bus stop, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. The room was clean and tidy, with soft and comfortable bedding. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation and no unpleasant odors. The facilities were well-maintained, and both the air conditioning and WiFi worked perfectly. The staff were warm and attentive, handling check-in and check-out efficiently, and even proactively offered local sightseeing tips. The breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh ingredients. It's incredibly good value for money, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit!

The room type was great, and the facilities were well-equipped. It's right next to Mojia Street, making dining and sightseeing very convenient, and the transportation is also excellent. The staff at the front desk was very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel; it's easy to find being on a main street, and getting there from the high-speed rail station was also quite convenient.

The hotel we checked into this time was quite unexpected. As soon as we walked to the door with our suitcases, a handsome staff member came to pick us up. I was stunned. Disposable towels, toilet mats and mineral water are provided as gifts. For more than 100 yuan, so many cleaning supplies are given away. What a conscientious business!
