3-Star Hotels in Macau

The biggest takeaway from my trip to Macau was getting 29 bites from an unknown insect. Macau in late August was hot and humid. I woke up around 5 AM due to an itch on my arm, and the more I scratched, the itchier it got. I bought some anti-inflammatory and anti-itch creams from the pharmacy in the morning, but they only provided temporary relief; the itching would return unbearable. Even after scratching every single bump open, it still itched. The little black specks on the white paper are small bugs I killed while having breakfast in the hotel restaurant the next day. I'm not sure if these were the bugs that bit me while I was sleeping. I reported the situation to the front desk, and they moved me to a different room the next day. I also started wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt, and I didn't get bitten again that night. It's been a week now, and it's still itchy. The hotel itself seemed to have a good environment, convenient transportation, with a bus stop and many small restaurants downstairs. However, the only thing that really bothered me was being bitten so badly by insects. I'm not sure if it was due to the hotel's hygiene or Macau's hot and humid weather.

Stayed at Hotel Sintra in Macau! I was a bit annoyed to find out after booking on Trip.com that it was over 100 MOP more expensive than another platform. However, when I checked in at 11 AM, the front desk lady upgraded my room, and when I opened the door, it was quite spacious – that immediately brightened my mood! The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the location is excellent. It's less than a 10-minute walk to the main bus terminal, where you can catch buses to the Border Gate and Taipa. Seriously, no need for a taxi!

This is my second time staying at the Grand Dragon Hotel, this time for my child's graduation ceremony at Macau Polytechnic University. The hotel is conveniently located right across the street from the university. After clearing customs, you can take bus route 10 directly to the hotel, which is super convenient. The front desk staff were very welcoming and even upgraded us to a deluxe room. They knew we were attending a graduation ceremony until noon, so they specially arranged a late check-out for us. Their personalized service was truly thoughtful! The room was spacious, neat, and clean, and also came with complimentary bottled water, free coffee and tea bags, and free WiFi. We also spontaneously added breakfast at the front desk, which was very easy, and the restaurant is right in the lobby on the first floor. Overall, our stay felt incredibly warm and comforting. I sincerely thank the hotel for their considerate service! Looking forward to seeing you again next time!

Overall, it was much better than I expected. The location is right next to Grand Lisboa, making it very convenient to get to attractions by car. As soon as I entered the room, the air conditioning was on. It was generally quite clean, and there was a window sill you could sit on. I had seen many reviews saying the service was bad or that staff were discriminatory, but I didn't experience that, as I barely interacted with anyone during my stay. The deposit could be paid with Alipay. There were also outlets that didn't require a converter, though I brought one myself anyway. These are all just my personal feelings!

Every time I visit Macau, I stay at this hotel, and this time my experience was even better! First off, the lobby has been upgraded and is much more beautiful, bright, and comfortable. Then, during check-in, the front desk lady patiently explained the new room door lock system – you just swipe the card directly, unlike before where I'd worry about demagnetization if the room card was near my phone. The room, as always, was clean and tidy. My little one absolutely loves the two-meter large bed. When I needed extra items for the room, the staff was super patient, asking if I had enough. This hotel is so thoughtful, it's a must-stay every time I come! 👍

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic – super convenient for getting around. It's just a stone's throw from Wynn and Grand Lisboa, and there's a bus stop right outside the door where you can get anywhere for just 6 yuan. It's an older 4-star hotel, but a big plus is that the shower isn't in a bathtub, which is great. I'd definitely stay here again on my next visit. The front desk staff were very polite, and the bellhops at the entrance were also excellent.

I initially thought, based on online reviews, that the hygiene and environment would be quite subpar, but it was actually decent. The room was indeed a bit small, but considering it's Macau, it's acceptable. The cleanliness was also pretty good; the towels and sheets seemed to be well-cleaned. When we needed to set up the sofa bed, a cleaning staff member proactively came to help us and even brought extra slippers and toothbrushes. The service was truly excellent, and we could store our luggage for free! Overall, it was very good, and it's quite close to the border gate, though the route is a bit circuitous. There's also a 7-Eleven nearby, which is convenient. The room card even had public transportation information for the surrounding area, which was a very thoughtful touch.

The hotel environment is absolutely amazing. The lobby is adorned with various knight armors, and the front desk service was very thoughtful. Once in the room, the view outside the window was the pier, yet it was very quiet. Inside, the carpet, writing desk, and bathtub facilities were all excellent – honestly, there's nothing to complain about, except that it's a bit pricier than on the mainland. Overall, a great review!

The price was also reasonable, and it was convenient to get around from the hotel.

The Waldo Hotel Macau boasts a convenient location, close to the Golden Lotus Square and the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal, making travel easy. The rooms are spacious and offer good value for money, while the service is decent. Although the facilities are a bit dated and soundproofing isn't great, its prime location makes it a practical choice for guests prioritizing convenience.
