La Casa Blanca de Vigan Hotel

Vigan|0.16km from city center
Fresh from our drive to Banaue & Batad Rice Terraces and the Halsema Highway, we decided to drive to Ilocos Sur to relax. Bessang Pass was quite the adventure. Anyway, Vigan it was. Without prior reservations we chanced upon cafe evelyn and decided to check the hotel. We were given a quick look at the property which looked old but somehow new. We found out from our host Ivon that they had just opened in November of 2022. Knowing my wife, no other hotel would do after the tour. We decided to stay and booked the Governors Suite. * its a bit pricey. 15,000+ pesos for 2 adults * you get a welcome drink. It was delicious. * 1,400 pesos for each additional person over 13 * 12 and under stay free but no free breakfast * breakfast was 450 pesos. Filipino, American & Continental were the choices. It was worth the price. Coffee and Juice comes with breakfast. @cafe evelyn * The latte was very good especially with the ”balikutsa” sweetener. Dont mistake it for a cookie. Drop it all in the cup. * Hotel is right on Calle Crisologo. The main entrance is on the parallel road. No motor vehicles are allowed on CC. Just horse drawn kalesas. * Rooftop bar and restaurant had very Good Big City Vibes. * 4th floor rooftop elevator ends at the 3rd floor. Stairs to go up the rooftop bar and pool. Not wc accesible (yet)' * infinity pool was small but sufficient. I was the only user when i swam. January is cold for Filipinos. * the food was tasty but my sizzling squid and gambas arrived no longer sizzling, no longer hot. * the crowd was light and the music was slow cafe type. Perfect for that windy full moon night. * the room was clean. The beds were quite comfortable. The pillows alone were worth the price of the room. Imo. * sufficient towels. The sofa in the room can be made into a futon. 3 grown children fit in the adjacent living room. * the comforters were comfortable with the strong AC * the bathrooms were immaculate. Needs more hanging fixtures for towels etc. * the bathtubs and fixtures were kohler ( from wisconsin ) * mini fridge was working. The flat screens were huge. One was 75 inches one was 55. ( ONLY ONE REMOTE ) why? *ample amenity kits. * comfortable robes. * hotel slippers could be better. * water pressure was good. Hot water was always available * my Amex Platinum did not go through, i had to pay with VISA. Even though it clearly showed the Amex logo on their Front Desk sign with BDO and other cards. This cost me a transaction fee of 2% on top of my bill. * staff was very friendly and helpful. Shout out to emil who helped with our bags & veggies from bontoc. * the lobby was quaint but lacking some character. The lobby and the tiles i really liked. * no restroom sign on the main lobby. * doors to calle crisologo closed at night which makes no sense since it showcases the main attraction. One door should at least stay open and accesible for hotel guests so no need to go around the hotel from the main entrance to calle crisologo. * happy hours. Unlimi

Ciudad Fernandina Hotel

Vigan|0.1km from city center
Overall, the location was the best part of our 4 day / 3 night stay. The hotel is the most beautiful building in the area, and definitely maintains it's old world charm. Here are the pro's and cons of our stay: Pros: * Location - As previously mentioned, this was the best part of our stay! The location of the hotel is within walking distance of nearly every travelers Vigan bucket list and is within 5 minutes walk of Calle Crisologo, Vigan Heritage Musem and many other attractions, restaurants and pasalubong (souvenir) shops. *Friendly Staff - Everyone that we encountered and interacted with during our stay was very polite, professional and was able to answer any questions we had. * Nostalgia - The hotel itself is beautiful, and during our stay in December was decorated for Christmas which was a bonus. The building retains so much of it's old world charm, and is definitely a lovely backdrop for your social media posts and family pics. Cons: * The rooms - We reserved 2 rooms, and both were in pretty desperate need of maintenance. Old chipped paint. Slow drainage from the toilet, sink and shower. Exhaust fan in the bathroom was present, but did not work. No wifi signal at all in our room. Did not even show up on 3 different devices. *Wifi - It was pretty much non-existent for the duration of our 4 day / 3 night stay. Our rooms were on the 2nd floor, and only 1 of them had any signal at all. The other did not have any wifi signal at all. Downstairs, when you attempt to connect to the wifi in the eating area or in the courtyard you would either receive a connection error, or when it would connect, you could only get around ~1mbps which is not really usable at all in this day in age. We notified the staff more than once of the issue, and they insisted they would have someone look at it, but the issue never got resolved. *The food - Breakfast selections are very limited, and are pretty standard for what you will find throughout the Philippines. We've come to the conclusion that it had to be the cheese that was the culprit because noone else had cheese in their dish, but I ended up getting sick with diarrhea and upset stomach around 2 hours after eating breakfast on the 2nd day. That continued for 5 days straight. I ordered the omelet with ham and cheese, toast, rice and also had a glass of their (cucumber lemonade?) on the morning that I got sick, and had eaten nothing else the night before or yet that day.

Paradores de Vigan

Vigan|0.24km from city center
This was our second time to visit Vigan as a family and our first time to stay at Panadores De Vigan, and we are so very glad that we did! The staff are friendly and helpful from booking all the way to our departure. They even went out of their way to find out if the local coffee shop would be open since it was a holiday when we arrived. We were greeted with warm and friendly demeanor, and we were able to check-in earlier (1245PM). It's located near some of the popular tourist spots, restaurants yet it's quiet. We also did not hear any noise coming from the other rooms or guests. Our rooms were on the second floor. They were clean, pleasant, lots of room and complete with basic amenities. The bed was comfortable, and we had the best sleep during our stay. We had a minor issue with the bathroom, but it was immediately fixed. Our breakfast was served on time as requested. Our rooms were cleaned during our stay. Just a couple of minor improvements: The water pressure in the shower could be stronger and maybe have the bathroom door fixed (we had to push it really hard for it to close). Recommendation/Suggestion: Provide a water dispenser in the room for added comfort. Two water bottles were provided for free and refilled the next day, but it would be nicer to have access to a water dispenser inside the room rather than having to buy and carry water bottles from the store whenever we went out. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay, and I definitely recommend them especially for families and big groups. By the way, they are right across the street from the famous First Sinangloa (they're open as early as 6AM). A few blocks from the public market where we bought bagnet and longganisa for our ”pasalubong”. The parking was a big plus! They have ample parking for their guests.
Hotel Mercante

Hotel Mercante

Vigan|0.31km from city center
Hotel Mercante was such a great part of my fun, peaceful, safe, educational, and rejuvenating stay in Vigan (Jan. 29-31, 2024). I had been skeptical at first about the 4.5 (out of 5) average rating that the hotel has received so far from Trip Advisor reviewers. After all, there are many other more popular (higher-rated and understandably higher-priced) options for accommodations in the city. But having enjoyed the Hotel Mercante experience myself, I do recommend the place for no-fuss travelers like me, who simply want a safe, clean, quiet, and efficiently run hotel. More than the basic amenities, however, there is something truly commendable about the hotel’s staff and management, with their warmth, care, and professionalism. Of course, hotel employees are trained to smile and to be polite, helpful, and efficient. But in my interactions with the Hotel Mercante team, I sensed a sincerity and an unobtrusive desire to be of assistance that is beyond the call of duty. Early on (before I had even set foot in Vigan or met anyone there in person), I had been relieved and grateful for the prompt and kind email responses I got from Hotel Mercante while I was searching online for accommodation options. I had emailed other hotels, but the responses from HM (particularly, Solenn and Sofie, Front House Associates) were not only prompt but also written in the friendliest and most professional tone. They courteously and clearly answered all my email inquiries. They were also considerate enough to offer the best room-rate options available, which meant a lot to a 60-year-old solo traveler like me. I also had fun getting some quick lessons on basic Ilocano phrases from Stan (the night guard, who welcomed me when I arrived early in the morning) and Sean (front desk officer, though perhaps his position may be higher—I met him the day I was leaving). “Agyamanak, ading!” (Thank you, young man/woman) and “ag pagna pagna” (just strolling or walking around to relax and enjoy the sights) will, from now on, be part of the limited Ilocano vocabulary close to my heart. I am also grateful to Sarah (front desk), Steve (housekeeping), Paige (Cantina Mercante), Shea, Suzy, and others whose names I wasn’t able to get. For solo travelers and for families or groups, Hotel Mercante is value for your money. But most of all, it is value for your (even more precious) time and trust. It may not be the most popular or most expensive/trendy/classy hotel in Vigan, but all I really needed was a place for homey, clean, safe, quiet, reasonably priced and very conveniently located accommodations—with excellent service and heartwarming staff. And I definitely, thankfully, got all that at Hotel Mercante.

Ciudad Fernandina Hotel

Vigan|0.17km from Syquia Mansion Museum

I really like this hotel, though a bit difficult to find at the beginning, some people doesn't know this hotel and found out that's its just new. But eventually we figured it out, we saw the street sign Calle Jacinto. The room is clean with bath towel, liquid soap, tooth brush, bottled water. Paulo is very accomodating when we've reached the hotel. There are some decorative paintings around the living room area at the second floor. Though you can smell the freshly paint but since I love painting so I really don't mind it😁. It's a walking distance from the famous Calle Crisologo. We walked around and watched the famous dancing fountain at night and we don't have difficulty going back to the hotel since it's just near. The only problem we've encountered in our room is the toilet bowl has some problem but we've talked to Ms. Meg their supervisor and they will surely fix this asap. They served a set meal breakfast, you just need to choose which one you like to eat with coffee or juice. Overall, our stay is satisfactory and this hotel is highly recommended.

The hotel is situated in the very city centre, old town, where most of the tourist attractions are just in several minutes walking distance. Be careful when choosing a room - my was without windows, actually there was a door heading to something like a balcony, where the outer body of a split air-conditioner for another room was placed - it has never turned off, so I had to take it as it is :) Breakfast is served starting from 7am, so if you are early bird or just need to leave earlier there is no option for earlier breakfast. Staff were very polite and the room and the hotel were very clean and tidy.

We just came back from our visit to Vigan, Ilocos Sur. I thought to write this review before I start to get busy with work and home chores:-) The whole staff starting with Jackie, Jo, and all others there, they made our stay like our true home. They are warm people, attentive to our needs, caring, and respectful. The Hotel kept their place clean and sanitized maintaining the historic cultural appearance of the place. They have warm water for bath and provided us with clean towels, and complete toiletries. Breakfast is included in the daily charge. If you want to ride a ”calesa,” Jo did a good job in finding us a beautiful horse (his name is ”Castanio”), sturdy and strong. Hotel Felicidad provided us with a list of places to see. The Hotel has its own big parking lot that is secured. They, too, have their own transportation that caters to tourists (upon request) to take them to shop around the Calle Crisologo sections. Their wi-fi has a strong signal. Not sure of a business center since we were there for a pleasure visit. It's best to visit the ”Calle Crisologo” in the late afternoon till the evening. The beauty of the historic houses reveals even more their meaning. Try to visit the Bell Tower, do not miss it! I highly recommend Hotel Felicidad to all. Its proximity is best to tourist attractions, restaurants, churches, bakeries, and many more.

Disappointment: Atleast 4 staff were loitering in the room when we came in. Why would they do that? They were using the room, sitting or maybe laying down the bed. I wanted to request for another room that the staff did not use but we were already tired. I just sprayed alcohol all over the bed. Wifi is slow, not true to what they advertise as fast. Satisfaction: Location. Its in the center and everything is pretty much walking distance Parking space. Acceptable. You can leave your key so they can adjust when some other cars would go out because the parking is stacked from inside out. Or they will just call you when they need you to move your car. Your choice. Service. I think they were friendly. Do I add in the service category that the staff use the room before we checked in? I like the part where water is complimentary and we can get it from the fridge anytime. Room. Acceptable. The typical size of a family room with 2 twin beds. Air conditioning is normal. Sound is sleepable. TV and cable are typical. Bathroom has flowing water and hot & cold.

Unlimi
