Visit Dali to ascend Cangshan Mountain and view Erhai Lake

It was already past five in the afternoon when I arrived in Dali. I booked an inn by the Erhai Lake, located in the small Guanyi near Erhai Park. This area is a Hui Muslim community, with an environment resembling a blend of urban and rural areas. The inn is a renovated house of the villagers, lined up along the lake. The surroundings on the ground floor could use some further beautification, but the room facilities are decent. I booked a 500-yuan sea-view room with a large bed for one night. The rooftop has a terrace you can go up to, and the view is indeed nice. Just a few dozen meters downstairs is the lakeside walkway. The next day, I didn't feel much when taking the cable car up the mountain, but the descent was super invincibly beautiful. You can enjoy the view of Erhai Lake as you come down the mountain, which is very pleasant and comfortable. We went to the Gantong cable car, which is located halfway up the mountain. There wasn't much to do there, so we just checked in at the Cangshan Grand Canyon. It's still a 4.5km walk to ascend the mountain, and due to time constraints, we didn't go up. If you have enough time, I suggest taking the cable car to Xima Tan and then walking to the Gantong cable car, and then taking the cable car down. This way, you might have a more ample selection of scenic spots to enjoy.
