Guangdong Shimen National Forest Park was established on the basis of the state-owned Daling Mountain Forest Farm established in 1960. In 1995, the Shimen National Forest Park was established with the approval of the China National Forestry Department, and it was the first international forest bathing place established with the approval of the former Forestry Department. Guangdong Shimen National Forest Park is located in the northeastern part of Conghua District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, with a total area of 2,636 hectares and a forest coverage rate of 98.9%. The park has the only remaining original secondary forest in South China, covering an area of 16,000 mu, known as an oasis of the Tropic of Cancer, and the 1,210-meter-high Paradise Peak is the highest mountain in Guangzhou. Because it is located in the subtropics, the climate is warm all year round, with an average annual temperature of 21.4°C, an average maximum temperature of 28.5°C in July-August, and an average minimum temperature of 12.4°C in January-February. Guangdong Shimen National Forest Park has set up five scenic areas: pastoral scenery area, Shimen scenic area, Shizao scenic area, Paradise Peak scenic area, and canyon adventure area, with more than 50 scenic spots such as towering Shimen, ancient banyan of love, Shimen Xiangxue, Three Immortals Meeting Paradise, Shizao Tianchi, Shizao Floating Smoke, Colorful Clouds, Carp Stone, Immortal Pushing Mill, Shen Valley Sanskrit, Tiger God Ancient Temple, Ancient Cannon Tower, Great Man Reclining Statue.
