After lunch, we officially started the tour. Before taking the cable car, we had a glass of champagne (OK, I was drunk at noon), and then took the cable car, which overlooked the entire Koblenz Rhine from high altitude. The first thing I saw was the German Horn (Deutsches Eck), although I didn't go directly to this place to visit up close, there are also good scenery from afar. The end of the cable car is the Fortress of Ellenbright Stein (Festung Ehrenbreitstein), which was originally established to guard the important strategic location at the intersection of the Moselle and Rhine rivers. The fortress was occupied by France during the German-French War and the French Revolution, and the whole fortress was hexagonal. And built on a cliff, surrounded by cannon holes and small mouths for firing, the whole geographical position is still very good, but also the side proves the importance of the Ellenbrightstein Fortress (oh yo, the name is too difficult to remember). Round-trip cable car + fortress tickets are 11.8 euros, if you are interested in military and European history, it is still worth visiting here!
