"The hotel is located near Amsterdam Airport, so it's a bit out of the way with limited surrounding amenities, making transportation inconvenient. The room was generally clean, but the decor is dated and the soundproofing is poor. Service was acceptable, with prompt front desk responses. It's suitable for business travelers catching early flights, but not recommended as a base for sightseeing. Value for money is just average."

"The hotel amenities was surprisely good. We enjoy our upgraded room and a welcome drink. We can left our luggages for 2 days during our short trip to Giethrone. The location was a bit isolated from everything but Bolt and Uber help make transportation easy for us. We enjoy our stay there"

"Transiting through Amsterdam Airport, getting to the hotel from the airport was very convenient – just take the train to Central Station. However, on the train, I encountered a very enthusiastic female thief, so everyone beware! The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the station. The front desk quickly handled check-in. The room was a bit small, but had decent facilities. The drain wasn't very clear, and the bed was small, but for a one-night stay, you can't expect too much. The next morning, I took a canal tour. Even though it was a brief visit, Amsterdam is definitely a city worth exploring."

"It's one train stop, about five minutes, from Schiphol Airport, but it's a 15-minute walk after getting off the train. You'll pass a Hilton Garden Inn on the way. The room is quite small, but since I left early the next morning, it was fine for one night as a stopover near the airport. The breakfast was good."

"This hotel is conveniently located right next to Amsterdam Airport, and they offer a shuttle service. It's a small, converted Sprinter van with a compact luggage rack for larger bags. However, it's quite small, so if you have a lot of luggage, especially for a family or two traveling internationally with multiple large suitcases, it might be a squeeze. The shuttle departs from the hotel every hour on the hour or every half hour, and from the airport, it usually leaves around :15 and :45. I won't go into too much detail about the hotel itself, but the breakfast was good – they even had kimchi and rice, and someone to cook eggs and omelets to order, which was a nice touch. The gym is open 24/7, and the pool and sauna are available from 7 AM to 10 PM. I didn't get a chance to use those facilities. There's also parking available for around 20 euros a night. Overall, it's a good place and I recommend it!"

"The hotel's location is super convenient, just about a 10-minute bus ride to the airport. We booked the Budget Ibis because the regular Ibis was fully booked. The decor and facilities are a bit more basic, but overall, it was a decent experience. It's really good value for money if you're looking for a hotel for an early flight. Plus, the croissants and mini Dutch pancakes at breakfast were absolutely delicious!"

"1. **Room:** A bit small, but perfectly adequate for one person. It had air conditioning, an electric kettle (which looked like blue and white porcelain), adjustable lighting, and more. The facilities were relatively new and well-maintained, with no hidden spots for dirt. If I indicated I didn't need my room cleaned by hanging the 'green' eco-friendly sign, they wouldn't clean it, and in return, I'd get a soft drink voucher for the bar. I used a voucher once to get a sparkling juice from the 2nd-floor bar. **Problem:** Replenishing essential supplies was inconsistent. The tissue box wasn't refilled when I checked in, with only a few tissues left. I mentioned it in the evening and again the next morning, but it wasn't until I went to the front desk a second time on the next evening that it was finally restocked. The same went for towels; I asked twice, and they still weren't changed a day later. Finally, on the third attempt at the front desk, they were replaced. This only happened when I dealt with Southeast Asian front desk staff; when I spoke to European staff, replacements arrived within 10 minutes. Towels and bathrobes also had to be requested; if you didn't ask, you wouldn't get them. The provided bedding, towels, and bathrobes were all quite old, not bright white, and not starched. 2. **Breakfast:** The food was plentiful, the service warm, and food items were refilled promptly, as were used dishes cleared away quickly. Again, the Southeast Asian staff weren't as enthusiastic and didn't greet me as readily, whereas the European staff were equally pleasant to everyone. The restaurant is on the 17th floor with great views. It's quite large, beautifully decorated, and has two serving stations, which is very convenient. There are also two large outdoor terraces perfect for enjoying the view or dining al fresco. On my check-out day, after breakfast, I bid farewell to the European staff, and they even gave me a special hotel lollipop, saying they hoped I'd visit again. 3. The second floor has a lovely, comfortable lounge area and a bar with a somewhat 'creative/cultural' aesthetic in its decor. 4. In spring, there's a direct bus to Keukenhof from the bus plaza below the hotel. You can buy round-trip tickets online. If you're staying at or near the hotel, you can take the bus directly, saving you a trip to Central Station. 5. **Transportation:** There are several train, metro, and bus options nearby. Given how punctual public transport is in the Netherlands, it's very easy to plan your sightseeing. All stations are within a few minutes' walk. 6. **Supermarket and Restaurants:** There's a Dirk supermarket a few minutes away. Near the hotel, there are various restaurants, including Western options like Italian, and Southeast Asian cuisine."

"The room wasn't huge, but it was very clean. The view from the window was quite nice, and I could even watch planes landing while having a meal at the nearby McDonald's. "The hotel's location is excellent; I could walk to the museums, and there's a tram stop about 200 meters from the entrance. However, the room and bathroom were a bit small, and there wasn't much space on the desk for my belongings. There was also no mini-fridge. It's probably best suited for solo travelers who aren't too concerned about the accommodation's amenities."

Amsterdam Hotels: Canal District Stays, Park-Side Rooms & Well-Connected Picks

About Amsterdam

Amsterdam is a city built on water: its 17th-century Canal Ring is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, threading more than 100 km of canals past 1,500-plus bridges, more than Venice. What started as a 12th-century fishing village on the Amstel River became a global maritime power during the Dutch Golden Age, and the city marks its 750th anniversary in 2025. Museumplein anchors the cultural end of town with the Rijksmuseum, home to Rembrandt's The Night Watch among over a million artefacts, the Van Gogh Museum with the world's largest collection of his work, and the Stedelijk Museum for modern art. The Jordaan, once a working-class quarter, has turned into the city's most atmospheric neighbourhood: narrow lanes of art galleries, boutique shops, brown cafés and hidden courtyards, with the Anne Frank House perched at its edge on the Prinsengracht. Dam Square remains the historic centre, where the Royal Palace opens to visitors when not in royal use and the 15th-century Nieuwe Kerk still hosts exhibitions. Bikes outnumber cars here, the flat centre rewards walking, and free ferries run from Centraal Station across the IJ to Amsterdam-Noord.

When to Book Amsterdam Hotels

  • Amsterdam's peak season runs June through August: hotels are at their priciest and sell out fastest. Book summer stays well in advance.
  • Tulip season, mid-March to mid-May, and King's Day on April 27 both send hotel demand and rates surging in Amsterdam. Lock in spring bookings early.
  • Amsterdam's off-peak window, December to February, delivers the lowest hotel rates of the year, with festive lights and winter sales for extra value.
  • The shoulder seasons, March to May and September to November, offer the best balance in Amsterdam: moderate hotel prices, thinner crowds and pleasant sightseeing weather.
  • In Amsterdam city centre, book ahead for summer and tulip season; last-minute deals can work for flexible off-peak trips. Use price-per-night filters and free-cancellation options on Trip.com to keep costs in check.
  • Trip.com's biggest hotel discount windows fall in mid-January to February (20 to 35% off), October to November (20 to 40% off), and mid-April to June (15 to 30% off) — all outside major holiday peaks and ideal for booking Amsterdam stays.
  • Turn on Trip.com price alerts to catch rate drops for Amsterdam hotels, join Trip.com Rewards for member-only rates, and check flight-plus-hotel packages for bundled savings.
  • Tuesday and Wednesday are generally the cheapest days to search and book Amsterdam hotels on Trip.com; avoid Friday evening through Monday morning, when weekend booking traffic pushes rates up.

Amsterdam Travel Essentials

Getting Around

  • Amsterdam's GVB network covers the city with train, tram, metro, bus and free ferry services. Trams serve most neighbourhoods except Amsterdam-Noord and NDSM; many routes start from Centraal Station, and you can buy a ticket from the conductor on board.
  • Amsterdam's OVpay system lets you tap in and out with a contactless debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Wallet with no app or registration needed. GVB Max automatically caps daily public transport spending in Amsterdam at €10.00.
  • The I amsterdam City Card bundles unlimited public transport for 24 to 120 hours, free entry to 70-plus museums, a 24-hour bike rental and a canal cruise.

Food

  • The Albert Cuyp Market in De Pijp is a top spot for Dutch street food: try stroopwafels, poffertjes and fresh herring from market stalls.
  • Eating and drinking, except water, is officially forbidden on Amsterdam buses and trams.

Entry Requirements

  • US citizens can travel to the Netherlands visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period in the Schengen area. A passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure date, and you need at least two blank passport pages for entry stamps.
  • ETIAS, the European Travel Information and Authorization System, will be required for travellers from visa-exempt countries before boarding flights to the Netherlands. The EU Entry/Exit System introduces digital passport control at European borders for non-EU nationals.
  • When entering the Netherlands, non-EU travellers may need to show proof of sufficient funds and a return ticket. For US citizens who require a tourist visa, application fees range from approximately €45 to €90 depending on visa type. The official currency is the Euro.

※ Prices and policies vary by season and are subject to change. Confirm with official sources before booking.

GGuest UserThe first time I went to Amsterdam with my bestie, we arrived at the hotel at 8pm. It was by a very quiet river. I thought it was a remote location, but I didn't expect that the hotel was surrounded by attractions after walking around the next day: Anne Frank House and Tulip Museum, Church and Canal Yacht Center and Small Square. The front desk receptionist, the blonde sister, was warm and friendly. She introduced the room and catering and the condition of the elevator to be repaired. She also recommended local restaurants nearby and helped to make reservations. The Chinese boss did a good job in employee training. The surprise was that the small suite on the fourth floor not only faced the beautiful canal, but also had a hot water kettle that girls always wanted. I like the hotel's logo. The Western breakfast has a rich selection of hot and cold drinks. The restaurant environment is small and warm, and the illustrations on the background wall have a sense of déjà vu of campus blackboard newspapers. Because it was my birthday that day, my bestie took a group photo with the Polaroid provided by the hotel as a souvenir. The hotel staff, a beautiful long-legged sister, took the initiative to help, which was very nice. Check out on time at 11 am, and the luggage can be stored at the front desk. After taking a cruise 🚤 and visiting the city, we returned to the hotel, rested in the restaurant, ate freshly baked cakes, and drank hot ☕️. The front desk helped me call a taxi to the airport and gave me a bag of snacks before leaving. It was really thoughtful! Looking forward to coming back next time 😘

Llinli67I booked this hotel for its convenient location, allowing me to easily catch the 852 Garden Bus to Keukenhof to see the tulips. Due to tulip season and a few concurrent exhibitions, the room rate was double the usual price, which made the value for money a bit disappointing. The breakfast, however, was excellent with a wide variety and high-quality options, absolutely no complaints there. The room itself wasn't very big, but you can ask the front desk for slippers if you need them. Right across from the hotel is Amstel Park, which is huge and features a fantastic rhododendron garden.

MMsLinhVery nice and clean hostel. The reception staff were very friendly. We booked at the last minute and did not expect such a good quality room, but everything was even better than we thought. The hostel is near the ****************** and under a big bar, but it was not too noisy. Most importantly, there was no ******** smell in the room. The bathroom and toilets were also very clean. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very convenient location, right next to Amsterdam Central Station, making it easy to get around. With trams and other public transport nearby, you can easily access the city centre and surrounding suburbs without any hassle. But The room was a bit small, even after the upgrade, which was slightly disappointing. I expected a bit more space for an upgraded room, but it was still manageable for a short stay.

GGuest UserWe spent our winter holiday here and there are plenty of local groceries stores around. The train station is just a breeze walk away so it’s easy to travel around. The Zaanse Schans (windmill attraction), Zaandam (‘Lego’ house) is just few stations away from the hotel. Stay wise it’s comfortable but can get tad abit noisy as the sound insulation between walls are rather weak. All in all we will definitely stay here again!

Yyuta takaokaI stayed at the Amsterdam Teleport Hotel, located in the western part of Amsterdam. Although it's a bit far from the city center, its affordable price and free parking are huge draws, making it particularly convenient for those traveling by car or planning an extended stay. The exterior is adorned with colorful art, creating a unique and welcoming vibe from the moment you arrive. The guest rooms are simple and functional, yet the bright color scheme is striking, giving it a more playful feel than your typical business hotel. Some rooms even have a kitchenette, which is a great bonus for self-catering or longer stays. The cleanliness was excellent, and I found it to be a comfortable base for both sightseeing and business trips. The hotel attracts a diverse clientele, from backpackers to families and groups, contributing to its international atmosphere. The price point is relatively reasonable for an Amsterdam hotel, offering excellent value for money. Access to the city center from the nearest station is good, so I didn't feel any inconvenience when visiting tourist attractions. While it's not a luxury hotel, it's a very attractive option for travelers who prioritize comfort and convenience while keeping their accommodation costs down. I'd highly recommend it as a casual and convenient base for exploring Amsterdam.

GGuest UserThe lobby of the Amsterdam Library Hotel is really the layout of the library, and the smell of books is strong when you enter the door. Less than 10 minutes from the central railway station, go left at the main entrance of the train station, cross the tram, walk along the road, there is a bus station at the entrance of the hotel, it is easy to find. The 24-hour front desk, the waiter is very enthusiastic, will tell you in detail where to go, live here safely and comfortably.
