Chongming Martyrs' Musuem

Chongming Martyrs Hall is located in the east of Xinhe Town, Shanghai, on the south side of Chenhai Highway. It was built in 1951. It was originally named the Martyrs Memorial Tower. In 1957, it was renamed the Martyrs Hall in Chongming County. It covers an area of 14,520 square meters. Among them: the construction area is 1,600 square meters and the square area is 1920 square meters. In June 1988, it was approved by the Chongming County People's Government and determined as "the county-level key martyr memorial building protection unit". In 1995, after strict assessment, the martyr hall was named the honorary title of "the advanced unit of martyr memorial building management work" by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. With the continuous improvement of the martyr museum infrastructure, in 1996 "Chongming County Youth Education Base" and "Chongming County National Defense Education Base" were officially listed in the martyr museum. In 2002, he was awarded the honorary title of "Chongming County Youth Protection Advanced Unit" and "Shanghai Garden Unit". The Chongming Martyrs' Hall Archives keeps 427 martyrs' archives, 22 martyrs' relics, 301 photos, and 50 volumes of documents. The revolutionary history exhibition room exhibited 427 martyrs, 255 photos, one oil painting, one Chinese painting, 193 text descriptions, one half-body sculpture, two full-body sculptures.
