Former Residence of Huang Xing

The place where Mr. Huang Xing, the pioneer of the 1911 Revolution, lived, is now changed to the Wukang Road Cultural District Tourism Center. It seems that there is no trace of Huang Xing back then. A brand of Huang Xing's former residence and Shanghai's historical protection building are erected at the gate.

393 Wukang Road, former residence of Huang Xing, a modern democratic revolutionary, was built in 1912 in neoclassical architectural style. The subsequent part was built in 1933 in Art Deco style. From 1912 to 1916, Huang Xing, a modern democratic revolutionary, lived here. Today, it has become Wukang Road Tourism Consulting Center and Xuhui Old House Art Center.

This is the residence of Huang Xing, a Chinese bourgeois democratic revolutionary, and the locals call it the "Huang Mansion". Although Huang Xing lived here for less than four months, Sun Yat-sen came here twice to discuss important matters with him. Today, Wukang Road Tourism Consulting Center and Old House Art Center choose to camp here to provide convenient, warm and thoughtful public welfare services for tourists coming and going here. In such an old house, folk craftsmen make beautiful Xuhui historical buildings into art models. Shown, watercolor painters with wonderful brushes show a colorful old Xuhui house, so that the rich and elegant "Huang Mansion" gives a new vitality.

There are many old houses of celebrities on Wukang Road, all of which are European-style buildings, which are very characteristic. Huang Xing's old house is a neoclassical English building. Unfortunately, it is not possible to visit inside and can only watch the building outside. The facade is mainly relief, very distinctive, simple and generous architectural style, and the luxury style of the Mediterranean garden residence opposite the original Italian consulate is completely different.

#Explore Xuhui Old House#This old house located in No. 393 Wukang Road A is Huang Xing's former residence. After Huang Xing died, the former residence was used by the World Society, the World College, the China Academy, and the Shanghai International Library, and then changed to the world's primary and secondary schools. Now some are Wukang Road Tourism Consulting Center, Xuhui Old House Art Center, and some are residential houses.
