The Museum of Modern Art (Museum of Modern Art) is a museum in Midtown Manhattan in New York City and one of the world's most outstanding collections of modern art; it is referred to as MOMA. Located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, the museum is often compared with the Metropolitan Museum. Although the collection is less than the former, it has more important collections in the field of modern art. The Museum of Modern Art was founded in 1929, with sponsors mainly Abby Aldridge Rockefeller's wife ﹚, Mary Kun Sullivan ﹙Mary Quinn Sullivan﹚ and Lily Briss ﹙Lillie P. Bliss﹚, and the construction and collection management are mainly supported by the Rockefeller family financially. The patron behind the 1940s and 1950s was Nelson Rockefeller, the son of Abby Aldridge Rockefeller, who also called the museum a “mother’s museum.”
