The central square in Ljubljana is small but very lively. The street performers are professionally performing and dancing and singing. They hope to present the best side of Ljubljana to the audience. The Baroque Cannibal Fountain, built in 1751, stands in the center of the square. The column base is sculpted with three sets of exquisite marble statues that are said to represent the three rivers of Slovenia: Sava, Krka and the old municipality next to the square of the Ljubljana River, which was built in 1718. It is a Renaissance-style ancient building that is now opened as a sculpture museum for free.
