Getting There - take the line 9 subway system drop to qibao station. Attractions - no much high building, it’s a old town vibes with river system, the rivers side is full of attractions walking ways and mild lighting at night. it was perfect view to feel the locals way of living. Hotels - I just had a whole day trip. Food & Restaurants - a lot of choices, you can dine to many restaurants located on the side of river view watching beside the window. and you also take a walk with their busy alley street lots of food to choose and it’s local food I think from all around the China delicacies. Ancient town in a huge cityQibao Ancient Town has been on my list of places to see in Shanghai for a long time. I finally visited over the Spring Festival 2022. I took a friend with me and we used subway line 9 to access the town. It’s actually very easy, the subway stop on line 9 comes out inside a mall, a quick walk through and around the corner you’ll find Qibao Old Street. The entrance to the Ancient Town is free but guarded with covid check points so be prepared to show green codes to enter. Once inside, the town is almost circular, so you can start on either side and see it all. We went to the left first and because we entered around 4pm, we had chance to see the sun setting over the bridge. This also meant a huge crowd of people who then ventured off into the food area of the town. There are a number of tea shops to visit inside the Ancient Town, sat on the river over looking the bridges. Its a really lovely place to visit.
