From Roosevelt to Biden now, they all stayed at this hotel when they came to San Francisco. The hotel is very old and very large. The Christmas decorations on the first floor attract visitors.
The service in the hotel is very good and professional, and sometimes the Chinese language is also spoken. It is worthy of having served the president. However, the hotel facilities are average. Even a suite with an area of over 100 square meters cannot escape the small bathroom of a few square meters. You need to stand in the bathtub to take a shower. The sink is very small. If you are not careful, your toothbrush and toothpaste will fall into the toilet.
The network is very good, that's okay.
Located at the highest point in San Francisco, the view is great, and the room looks directly at ** Island. Walking down the hillside, you will find Chinatown and Union Square 2 blocks away. You need to climb back up, which is a bit hard.FromAU$339

Loved every bit of my stay here. Every staff I encountered during my stay was friendly and helpful. The room is slightly dated but the attentive housekeeping definitely made up for it. Location wise it’s convenient and close to major spots in the city. You might find homeless people a few blocks away from the hotel but it’s common in the neighborhood and the hotel staff and security made me feel safe once entering the hotel area.FromAU$235

- Location was excellent, close to Powell Street station (BART ride to the airport in ca. 40 mins.) All connections a travel to SF would want: Street Car, Bus, CableCar, BART, Metro.. in walking distance.
- People at the reception are very kind.
- Cleanliness was ok, but could be improved for a hotel of this price (one handle was greasy).
-Facilities were also ok. The room layout was nice but nothing special. The pool was very nice, so was the gym. Dining options could be better. Also dining is quite expensive for what you get. Friendlyness of the staff in dining area was ok, but not as great as at reception.
-Overall: recommended for a business traveller who need not worry about the price; for tourists (esp. families) to SF there are probably better options.FromAU$266

This is the smallest Ritz-Carlton I have ever stayed in.
The sensor setting of the refrigerator in the room of the Ritz-Carlton in San Francisco is really too small.
Location:
The location is near the red line of the cable car, which is the place where the Internet celebrity punches in. Just turn right and climb a steep slope when you leave the hotel.
Room facilities:
This is the worst Ritz-Carlton I have ever stayed in. The room should be renovated. It is quite small. The overall layout is just average. And I was given a very far room.
From the elevator to the room, you have to walk for a long time. If you push the box, it is very strenuous. The drinks and alcohol in the room are also set up with sensors one by one. The waiter also has to explain that if you take it out for more than a few minutes, you will have to charge money. Is this the layout of the Ritz-Carlton? ? ?
The bathtub and shower area are not separated. They are together. Bad review.
Breakfast: Breakfast is not self-service, but ordered. There are few choices and the price is amazing. Unexpected.
Gym: The gym is still well-equipped and open 24 hours a day.
Value for money:

I have to say, the room and facilities were pretty good, and the location was decent too. However, one issue made me feel this hotel was a bit of a rip-off. I had previously booked a room through Trip.com for October 16th to 18th. At the time, it showed that in addition to the room rate, an extra 294 RMB (approximately $41 USD) would be charged upon arrival. But according to the receipt from the hotel, they actually charged $49.20 per night. I believe this is a case of the hotel not clearly disclosing fees and abusing its charging rights. What was even more frustrating was that when my son checked in on the evening of the 16th, he dined at the hotel restaurant. The hotel only informed him that he could spend $35 for free each day, but failed to clarify that this amount was not cumulative. This led him to mistakenly believe he could use a total of $70 over two days at once, resulting in him paying extra unnecessarily.
I emailed the hotel's general email and the Hilton receipt email yesterday, but received no response. This afternoon, I raised the issue with Trip.com, and surprisingly, the compensation was refunded within an hour! I really have to commend Trip.com! From now on, I'll definitely stick with Trip.com for my travel arrangements – they're reliable, professional, and efficient!FromAU$188

We love this hotel and stay here every time we come to San Francisco. The hotel has an old time charm I really enjoy. Doesn't matter to me the time are smaller. Older hotel rooms were small. The staff are always friendly. The location is great for restaurants, Union Square, and several restaurants. It's an easy walk from BART. I only wish they would open the bar again.FromAU$137

I flew in for a concert in San Francisco and stayed at this hotel — it was a wonderful experience. The interior was beautiful, and my room was huge, with two separate rooms! The staff was amazing, everyone was so polite. And by a lucky coincidence, the musicians from the concert I went to were staying at the same hotel, so I even got to chat with them a little. We had a fantastic stay at the Westin St Francis. It exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend it. The room is quite big, very quiet, and the stay is quite comfortable. It is next to Chinatown, so it is convenient to go shopping. There is no breakfast, but there is a Starbucks across the street. There are other breakfast shops, but we bought it at the supermarket. This hotel is not too close to supermarkets like Target. The front desk service is not so enthusiastic. Facilities: Everything you need is there. The self-service water dispenser was also quite pleasant.
However, there's no private parking. Public parking nearby costs $26 for 12 hours, with a $35 cap after that.
Breakfast: Not buffet style, self-service menu. If you book through Ctrip including breakfast, you can choose one option. I recommend the berry toast; it's delicious.
